Climate: Temperate...warm & humid most of the year.
Landscape: flat, prairie, suburban (wildlife: armadillo, turtle, possum, snakes, racoons, deer, wild pigs...lots of birds)
Favorite thing to do there: Moody Gardens (Aquarium, 3D IMAX, Rainforest Pyramid, Discovery Pyramid, 4D SpongeBob show, Colonel--paddle boat, RideFilms...just a lot of really cool stuff.) It is in Galveston, we have season passes...fun! Also, Kemah Boardwalk, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston Fine Arts Museum, and the Zoo! Changing all the time. Theatre District and the Outdoor Sculptures around downtown.

Climate: Cooler finally! It's been a long, hot, humid, little rain, Summer... come on, Fall!
Landscape: We're in the Piedmont ("foot of the mountains") area... we're more like the toenail... a few hills and monadnocks here. It's called Rock Hill for reason... many rocks in the red clay... a gardener's nightmare!
Favorite thing to do there: Carowinds (amusement park), Come-See-Me festival every April in Rock Hill, a few historical and artsy places here, and Charlotte, NC, is only 20 miles up the road.
