Submissions for our 1st contest=OPEN NOW!
Post your poem or short story to be eligible for the Sept contest.
This will be our first contest; so, read instructions and bring us your best!

Hate a blank page?

Do you just love to read a good short story or poem? Well, I do! This is the thread to post original short stories (500-1500 word) and poetry.

Be creative, be fun or dark, be yourself...just remember PG-13 and limit cursing. (Why? because I think it distracts from the story or poem! Sometimes you can't get to the storyline, because you are too busy wading through the bad language.)

Please, post each poem or short story separately. One entry per post.

So, please post away and at the end of each month, we will post our favorite 5 and vote to select the winner. Winner will receive 500g. Put your best pen forward and go for it!

#1

See Through Fears

Blood red curtains,

Hung over crystal mirrors,

To cover up,

All those see through fears.

Lovely flowers,

And painted towers,

Shielding your eyes,

From my see through fears.

Pleasant lullabies,

Sung from up high,

To drown out the cries,

Of my see through fears.

Watchful eyes,

Followed by sighs,

Spot me in my,

See through fears.

Long smooth hands,

Take hold of my bands,

Soft long hands pull me from,

My see through fears.

#2

Cutter:

Running water,

In blood soaked rain,

Feelings run hotter,

With shots of pain.

Seeing the scars run deep and red,

Watching the crimson run down the bed

Hearing the pain and sorrow in my head,

Hoping that soon I would be dead.

The room becomes blurred,

With sounds I once heard,

The world becomes black,

As my life force runs free.

Cool hands on my cheeks,

Wet lips on my head,

Telling me the truth,

That I am not dead.

The pain still burns,

And my body still yearns,

Yearns for the pain,

Yearns for the death,

My eyes are unfocused,

My mind is a haze,

The only thought I have is,

That I'll continue this the upcoming days.

#3

The sickening dance"
"I shiver as I see you begin to advance,
I'm unable to move,
so I just prepare for the upcoming dance.
I shiver again as I feel fingers,
entwining in my hair , twisting and kneading
My eyes start to water, and chest to heave
as you begin to pull me closer.
You push me down and kiss me roughly,
I scream as I feel you push, and pull in me.
I feel like your pulling me apart,
like your reaching in and ripping my insides
the pain subsides as you begin to shudder.
I feel you pull out as I begin to cry,
I can feel your hands on my skin,
as you leave with out looking back.
And then when my sobbing became harder,
I hear you whisper, as you walk away,
" thanks for the dance".
And then the darkness envelopes me."

heart Very dark and sad...I can feel the pain...

I like #2 for the better poem...my opinion only. All three have good points. They seem really driven by pain...#1 abandonment #2 self destruction #3 rape...as I said sadness.

Note: please post each poem or short story in a separate post...to allow easier commenting on the individual poems. heart su(It was my fault for not specifying--I have corrected instructions.)

Untitled:
Growing sick and tired
Of all the friggin' rain
Never seems to let up
Slowly but surely driving me insane
Spiraling down the gutter
Drive a nail into my side
Don't I bleed just like you?
Washed away with water
Leaking from my insides...

Why won't the story every stop?
I don't know where else to go
I'd follow the yellow brick road
But, the path is broken, so
Why won't my story ever start?
What, no happy ending?
Yeah I'm alone here standing
Spiraling, descending

A life void, expired
What, no happy ending?
You're just so condescending
You don't know what true hell is
Take a gander at my world
My sanity is pending
Hatred for this friggin' world
So, screw this crappy ending

Untitled 2:
Im in my room with the door locked and shut
Trying hard to stitch together my cuts
I once was numb, thought I never would feel
My wounds are deep can you help me heal?
To my darkened world you shed some light
Your voice always takes away my plight
I Lept into the light just for you
Depite a unpleasent thought or two
I suffer constantly from inner torment
But for you I'll keep it dormant
Memories for others seem to bring joy
But to this person they only destroy
Dont be sad for me because I'm still alive
And the reason is you, you're what helps me survive

Untitled song
I hail to the gods to give me strength
So my sword will be guided true
Instill in me power and will of every enemy slew
All my foes shall tremble in fear
At the very mention of my name
And I shall inlfict upon their souls
Perpetual anguish and pain

Chorus:
My quest is that of vengence
A sword bathed in crimson taint
Mercy will not be given to the vile
Their screams will end when their pulse is faint

Mighty Thor with your hammer
Strike me a guiding path
So soon I shall be upon my enemies
And they shall feel my wrath
Valhalla bestow upon me
The power of fallen heroes
To enhance my every blow

(Chorus repeat)

As my journey draws to an end
My enemies have paid in blood
Their vitality runs thick from my sword
And from their severed heads
I place them around my mast
And ready to set sail
I give thanks to the gods above
I give the almighties hail

"I once had an angel"

I was once given an angel,
whos presence could clean any soul.
His wings were a lovely white,
and could fly him anywhere in sight.

He would fallow me every where,
from here to there,
from there yo here
Even places that weren't so near.

Just to make sure,
that I would not take hold of that lure,
and be taken from the light,
and out of his protective sight.

I would fight,
and even bite.
To get away from his hld
in the end I was truly to bold.

I pulled free of his sight
and fell victim to the anti-light.
Though, he never did know.
and I'd never tell him so.

He would still fallow me everywhere,
Still from here to there,
from there to here
even places that weren't so near.

As my soul began to blacken
His hold began to slacken.
As I learned what I shouldn't have learned
The tips of his wings began to burn.

As the darkness tied about me their sash,
The center of his wings turned to ash.
When I discovered that I was alone,
I reached for his wings, to find they were bone.

His once pure white soul
is now blacker than coal.
His once undying love,
Had turned into a burutal shove.

I was once given an angel,
whos precens could whiten any soul,
and I burned his wings
Now all thats left is our memories wraped, in cast iron rings.

Really nice sentiment. I think this is your best poem posted.

(un titled)

The world is swirling
Whirling
Twirling
In my head
The room is a blur
seeming covered in fur
the vile taste in my mouth
Contrasting with the lovely site down south.
Everything is grey
As it’s been all day
My temples are pounding
With the noises of trumpets sounding
Sitting on my table
Looking down at the coloured water
Pretending to be someone else
Pretending to be you
Hollering
Running
Hiding
Fighting
The danger continues
The calm has begun
Getting ripped to shreds
While sleeping peacefully in your bed
Your bed
My bed
I’m you
Your you
The colours of bliss
And the colours of hate
Mix in the waters
To create a new bait
The colours are fading
The grey has returned
The trumpets fade away
And the vile comes back
Twirling
Whirling
Twisting
Flipping
The world slows down
And I fall away

a song I wrote, iono if I put it here, but ::shrug::

Worry and hurry:
Didn’t need to worry
Cause all I needed was you
Shouldn’t have made ya hurry
Cause you walk right through.
Didn't need to worry
Cause I've got you now
Shouldn’t have made you hurry
Cause now your scared of how
I'm gunna make ya worry
To keep you all to me
I shouldn't have hurried
Cause now I'm missing you.
Dah dah du ba----- dah dah du- ba
Dah dah du ba---, dah dah, dah dah dah.

Shouldn't have made yah hurry,
Cause now you've gone away
Shouldn’t have made jyah worry
Cause now you've left and gone.
Didn't want tah worry
Cause all I need is you
Gunna need to hurry
To get you back

Dah dah dah da-------
Dah dah duuuuuuu du ba
Dah dah dah da-------
Dah dah du------- ba.
Now I'm all worried
Because you’re with that girl
Gunna really hurry
To get you from her.
Didn’t need to worry
Cause all you needed was me
Didn’t need to hurry
Cause you came right back here
Didn’t need to worry
Cause all we needed to do
Was just to hurry
Cause now we're a happy two

The Darkened Night

Swirling darkness gathers round,
the blackened skies seem moving.
The knights of many realms appear,
to lead the evenings' crooning.

Minds and souls unravels now,
and twist again to bind.
The sidewalks spew a ceaseless fount,
of restless moving rabble.

Clouds will roil and wolves may howl.
Blood rises up and reaches out,
to quench the thirst of needy mouths
and owls still fly the sky.

Bleeding them until it's end;
the taste was sweet, is bitter.
As morning breaks, a loss is mourned
Dark clouds part--the sun revealing.

Mommie Dearest

Little girls they like to play
in mommie's clothes and make-up.
They put on lips that aren't their own,
while fancy bras fake push-up.

Thinking how they'll never look,
they fantasize of more.
Dresses that they took,
fall down to feet, then drag the floor.

Her clothes are looking messy now,
thrown on the closet floor.
Oops! Mommie Dearest won't be happy!
I'll say now 'never more'.

The pain is spreading

Starting out slow,
The pain hardly noticed.
Than, starting out low,
The pain gently rises.

The one that I love most,
Betraying me for ghosts.
The only one I can turn to,
Leaving me for someone untrue.

The pain spreads faster,
Engulfing my soul.
A man telling me to call him master,
And force me into that role.

The pains raging skyward,
My emotions are out of control.
Everything can be crushed with a word.
And leave me with a broken soul

With nothing left,
But a broken world
And I’m living in a nest,
A nest of pain filled sobs

The pain has reached its limit,
Bursting into life.
Destroying my heart with it,
As if it was holding a knife.

The pain has taken hold of me
And will likely end my life
My one love, and my dear friend,
Will watch me flicker out in strife.

He gazed at her, watching the weeping woman, hiding behind the stairs. He wanted, oh how desperatly he wanted, to go over to her. To hold her. Wipe away her tears. Hold her close and gently, but at the same time, tightly, never letting go. Whispering words of consolence in her ear. To tell her that everything would be alright.

But none of these things he did, none of them he could. He was mesmorized, paralyzed by her radiant beauty. To others, she was nothing more than a simple young woman. Pretty, yes, but not strikingly so. Lovely in her own way, but never so much that she would turn heads. Many were more fair than she.

But he didn't see the simple peasant woman when he looked at her.

No, he saw past the simple smudges of dust and dirt that she gained from her daily household chores. The rough texture of her hands, which she'd gained over the many years of hard, honest work. Past the coursness of her hair, which came from years of not being taken care of.

No, when he looked at her, he saw the most radiant, breath taking, beautiful creature one could ever imagine to find. And he looked at her, not only with awe, but with a look that told, he held her in such high regard, that he was intimidated by her. He didn't believe a single thing he could ever do, would merit her beauty to be his own.

And so, he only watched. Watched from the shadows, quietly, and never moving. His heart crying in pain as the small clear droplets rolled down her cheeks in graceful motions.

Oh, dear God. Even while crying, she was beautiful.

He wanted badly to help her, badly to make things right in the world for her. Seeing her tears, made him want to do anything, possible or not, anything, to make those tears stop. To right the wrong that had been done, the wrong that had made her cry so.

Sadly, what the man didn't know, was that she didn't plan on living. The world had become to harsh a place for her to take. And in a sudden, horific moment, she was dead, gone, nothing but a lifeless doll on the cold floor.

A silent scream eminated from the man, as he stared, horrified at the woman. The woman he'd loved from afar. To late, did he rush to her side. Kneeling next to her, he watched her blood leak from the stab wound she'd inflicted. To late, to late. Those words rang loudly in his ears. To late. He'd tried to help her to late.

A fact, that he could not live with.

And thus, taking the knife she'd used to take her life, he took his own.
