At the very heart of the main cave complex, is the Queen's Chambers. It is a wide area, fenced off by piles of rock and guarded by the Alpha barracks that adjoin them. This area is inhabited by the queen and her princesses. Alphas may enter once in a while, but this chamber is mainly off limits to all males unless invited in.

It is in this place that the Queen may scold those that have wronged, and to teach those females that may succeed her. In some cases, the Queen may choose to make such announcements in the Ampitheatre, as well.

At the very back of the chamber is a sealed stone door, and beyond it is a shaft that dives to the river stories below. Some say this is a treasure chamber, others an escape route. Either way, it is rarely used...

The queen entered her quarters and found her most soft nest to sleep in. She wasn't worried at all by the Princess sleeping in the kits dorm for now but later on when she woke up she would go get the kit and being her here to tell her she can sleep here.

The queen had woke up after 9 hours of sleep. She got up and walked out of her quarters into the kits dorms.

Adurna entered the Queen's Chambers looking to see if the Queen was there but she was lucky the Queen was gone. She walked over to teh beds, she saw one very big and looked really soft. But she guessed that was the Queen's herself. So she chose on close to the corner, darkest spot there, laying on that bed she started to eat the rabbit she caught earlier.

She just loved messing up his mind.

Xerxes doubted that the Queen really meant her offer, so he didn't say anything. His bed was just fine as it was, with the cattail down, and he had no need of fur for comfort. And feathers would just look stupid for decoration.

He took note of the sealed door along the far wall, and wondered where that lead (if he remembered correctly, if that went down far enough, it would reach the river, but it could also stop before it went that far down), and what it was for. But he didn't ask. If the Queen felt like telling him, she would. And if not, she wouldn't. No reason to go prying.

he told her when she asked her second question. She probably would tell him. It would give her something to lord above him, and he swore that she took every oppertunity to remind him that she was higher up than he was, and no matter what he did, that was the way things always would be.

So she was inside his head. It wasn't enough to make him go insane, not yet. And there was no way she was going to let him inside her head, unless she had something else in there to torture him with, so he wasn't going to ask. She would tell him if she had some other torturous thing hidden away, he was sure, so it wasn't worth asking.

What he really wanted...he wanted her to get out of his head, yes, but if this was the price of being top Alpha, so be it. She had three other Alphas to pick on, as well, and he would have to hold under her pressure if he wanted to keep his place.

Was he crazy? Maybe. Maybe not. He didn't know, nor particularly care. At least the Queen was gone, so he didn't have to listen to her anymore. And she had left him alone in her chambers. Was this some sort of test, to make sure he wouldn't go try to see what was behind that door? Or did she mean what she said about simply wanting a new toy? That's all he was to her, a toy, something to play with, and discard when she got tired of him, or he broke.

But he wasn't going to break, he decided. Let her try. He had managed to survive her for this long, and he could keep on survivng her. And since he had her permission to kill her bed, he might as well. It would be good training without the risk that a real fight had. Oh, he was sure that he could beat any Damphousse there was, but he didn't particularly feel like gambling his status in case one of the other Alphas decided to challenge him. As far as he was concerened, they were the only threats to worry about in battle. Maybe he should go scare them with talk of the Queen and her mind games. That might discourage them from trying to take his spot.

But then, they might just see it as a ploy to keep them from challenging him, and they would view him as weak. And the weak weren't allowed to lead. They would gang up on him, and keep attacking him, one after another, until one of them won against him, and he was demoted. No, he couldn't. Let the Queen teach them herself. He wasn't going to loose his power in such a stupid way.

He did feel a bit guilty as he attacked the Queen's bed, but she had told him he could, and it was her problem now, not his.

Adurna had her head raised from her rabbit as she looekd at the Alpha. She said as she stood up and moved out of the shadow from teh far corner. She asked bringing back what she had asked him before.

She felt his anger. She smirked. She smirked. She was enjoying this.

She shook her head. She gave out a mocking laugh. But it wa hard to tell if she was laughing at them or at the Alpha.

Why was it that no matter where he went, he wasn't safe from the females? He supposed he should have suspected that the Princess would be in here, but he wished that she would go be a normal youth, and spar with the others, or something.

A pause. She was more or less his equal in rank, and she would go on to be his superior, so he might as well try to get this relationship off to a good start. He doubted that he could remove the Queen's taint from her, but he could at least try to have things work out better this time.

Was she laughing at him? At this Altair? What did it matter? Nothing. Let her laugh. He wasn't sure why she would tell him this about those two, since they were so low ranking, he had never heard either of their names. If Altair started to win more, and win more decisively, then he would keep an eye on that one. But for now, neither were a threat. After all, the only thing worse than a looser was a winner who came out of a fight looking nearly as bad as the looser.

Adurna smiled. She had stopped laughing. tainted as she Queen eh? I'm not quite as torchoring as she. Unless you find this jsut as bad.> She looekd at him killing the bed.

She smiled. Alright. I will finish my rabbit, though you should have known I was here. It almost seems pathic for an Alpha not to know.> She turned and walked towards her bed in teh dark corner and laid down to eat her rabbit. Let's see him chew on that. She smiled.

He really wished that the pair of them would just stay out of his head. This whole thing was getting rather annoying.

No, she wasn't as bad as the Queen, but she seemed like she would end up just like the Queen, a twisted, sadistic Damphousse. The Queen had power over all Damphousse, but the current Queen felt the need to flaunt that power, to constantly remind them all of their places. Places that they had earned, but that she had been born into. If someone wasn't aware of their place, they were stupid, and deserved it when someone came and took that place from them. He knew his place was beneath the Queen, and he knew that soon his place would be below the current Princess, too. That didn't mean they had to keep reminding him of a fact he already knew. To flaunt power like that, in males, at least, was a sign of weakness. Maybe it meant something else to females and their mind reading abilites, but as a male, it meant that the Queen was not secure in her power. Which was stupid, really, since the only person who could take that power from her was the Princess, and that would only happen when the Queen let it. Or the Queen died. But the Queen was young, and didn't battle, so he couldn't see why she was insecure. If that's what she was.

Maybe she had some other reason for constantly reminding him of her power, a reason that he, as a male, could not comprehend. Because he could not believe that the Queen was insecure in her power. The pieces just didn't add up at all.

He kept his tone perfectly polite, although there was a bit of an undertone that she was being foolish. Although what he found so foolish was a mystery.

Adurna nodded from her corner. She thought for a sec. She might as well get out of his head. It was boring trying to converse with someone where she knew what they would say. She gave him one of her smirking smiles. She added when she looekd away to eat her rabbit more.
