Hello everyone I wasn't sure where to put this, but since dieting tends to become a life style change, I chose this forum for my thread .
During my father ordeal, I found out I'm a stress eater. Boy oh boy, did I eat! I had to go clothing shopping twice while in NY. I went from a 20 to 26! I'm uncomfortable and out of breath easily. I've been seeing ads for the Keto diet. My question is...... Is anyone doing it? Has anyone tried and had problems with it?
The info I found seems positive, but my family is balking. My scientist daughter tells me of imbalances and the brain functions, my son telling me of kidney damage, my hubs telling me I'm not going to have time with school and homework etc.
I have watched videos on prepping meals ahead of time. etc.
I'm looking for advice from others who have been there, done that, love it or never again.
Thanks for your time and input.

Well, I spoke with my doctor about Keto, she was pleased. She said she has seen others lose weight on it one of her patients is no longer on insulin! She did advise not to do it as strict as some advertise. She's like me to do the lazy Keto.
Hubs and I have been doing it for 10 days now. Sunday is our carb day. I usually make a pasta dish. He has lost almost 20 pounds already! He's at home, I'm the one who's out and about and I'm not losing anything. scream

I tried Keto for a month. It wasn't strict as I still eat mcdonalds burger twice in that 1 month and drink coffee with sugar daily. I did loose 4kg. However, I regained the 2kg after another month of stopping. I'm still happy though cause the other 2kg didn't come back. I plan on doing it again but more strictly this time. The negatives I've encounter was constipation as increased fat in diet could cause it, I just take magnesium supplement (1 tab) after dinner. It works for me. Some say fiber supplement doesn't work as it contradicts with the fat absorption or something so I didn't try it. Another thing I encounter was headaches which I countered with soup, which usually works. They say keto makes you loose electrolytes which causes the headaches. So yeah, I'd say it does work but it's not something you can do for a long time. Oh and one more thing, be careful of hidden carbs like cereals and protein bars. If you're not loosing weight, some say it could be because you're eating a lot of protein or something.

Now I understand why.

I figured it was time for an update. I was on again off again with the Keto. I'd lose weight then put it back on.
Now it's 2020 the year the world went crazy, the year of hell. I'm trying again. This time I bought a keto program, electrolyte powers to add to my water, magnesium supplement, potassium powder & pink salt. I think this time my head is in place, and my family is okay with my decision too. I also joined some keto groups on line, for support. I restarted on August 1, 2020.

Are you still doing the keto diet? I'm interested in finding out more about it but can't seem to find any sources or products that seem to be reliable -- everything I'm finding seems like it's just selling a questionable product and probably has shady scam overtones. Are there any informational resources you could recommend? And what keto program did you get?

Unfortunately, I haven't in been following it. Since it is whole food items regular shopping is a must and not being employed, I have no funds of my own.
I felt great doing it, I love the eating style and yes, I lost weight. I followed this program. I didn't want to have to figure the ratio's of everything I ate. This program does all the work for you. I also joined their FB group lots of support and help as well as seeing other peoples stories.

https://www.speedketo.com/ketosuccessdigital-v1 Thanks for sharing that. I checked out the web page. It seems like a lot of helpful resources, and the cost is very affordable, too. I'm currently financially tight, but I e-mailed myself the link so I can hang onto that for the future.
