Somehow I can't get into Behemoth, try as I might. Which is strange, because the black/death/doom descriptor usually hits on my favourite sound.

I've heard statements similar to that when I've brought up Behemoth. Most say it's either Nergal's vocals that aren't to their liking, or that most of it sounds the same.

Always been more partial, or I guess when looking at what I've listened too based on numbers, to German and Ukrainian Black Metal. BUT Mgla and Kriegsmaschine will always rank very high on my list overall, so there is that. ********' M.

Behemoth's first two albums are pretty great standard black metal fare. I then progressively lost interest in them the more they steered their sound towards death metal.

I don't know why I can't seem to get into mgla.
I know it's good on a basic level but I just can't seem to do it.

I don't have a problem with Nergal's vox.
Maybe to the second point.
