Personality
Rikyu is is a cocky and proud type of person, mainly brought up from living a life in which he trained and participated in fights from an early age, raising him to become very competitive, with a desire to win that tends to go overboard at times. As any champion, his winning streak and reputation does at times go to his head, but overall, Rikyu does show a a great sense of restraint while doing so, never truly allowing himself to become blinded by his own reckless sense of pride or weight of accomplishment. As a person who is down to earth most of the time, he traditionally has a greater sense of what's gong on rather than focus on other details irrelevant to what is going on, giving him a keen visual toward aspects in any given situation. As a man who lives without any regrets, he doesn't focus on his problems or misgivings, rather, Rikyu almost always comes to terms with what's happened and what is going to happen, accepting his mistakes and going the extra mile to learn from them, ensuring that he never does the same thing twice. As a young man, Rikyu is brash and hot-headed, almost always choosing to go in headfirst by simply following his instincts rather than the common logic dictated by others.
This sense of liberty he feels stems from his incredible sense of confidence he has in himself, taking it so far as to become incredibly cocky in the middle of a fight, making him prone to mock his enemies in some way or say something cocky in which he can boast of his skills. However, Rikyu does possesses a strong moral code that prevents him to act on his less "friendly" traits, such as his refusal to kill others, attack someone from the back, or take on children as opponents. As a pride-oriented fighter, he fights his absolute hardest when facing stronger foes, as his tenacity to be the best forces him to push beyond his limits in order to come out on top. When off simply relaxing, Rikyu spends most of his time taking care of his star ship or maintaining his skills in pristine condition.
Rikyu's level of arrogance times does get the best of him, being displayed in the form of rudeness that extend to his fights, during which he is prone to mock his enemies in some way or say something cocky in order to prove his superiority. On the other hand, relative to popular belief, he mainly does so in order to appear as though he's compensating for this fact, making him look like a dog with all bark and no bite while in reality he does possesses the necessary skill and power to back up his claims. Rikyu has an incredible sense ruthlessness when he wants to win, going as far as he needs to go in order to achieve victory, so long as it's within his moral code to do so, as shown in his opposition of killing his enemies. Rikyu nonetheless possesses an extremely stoic nature on his shoulders that tends to contrast his competitive nature, often seen when he's helping anyone who needs his assistance or is on missions with others, making him a great team player. His complacency toward working with others, as well as his natural sense of leadership has him become a very reliable companion to have around, often times making himself responsible for the well-being of those around him by destroying anything that possesses a threat or means to do them harm ahead of time, taking more proactive role.
Rikyu is incredibly charismatic and loves to interact with others, but does so in some very odd ways. He'll more often than not open up with some kind of joke or hilarious antic that he himself is the only one that understands, leaving many to guessing as to what the point or moral of the joke was in the first place. Although a bad joke teller, he is very friendly and a good judge of character, basing his opinions of the content of their character rather than simple appearances or history; this makes him very accepting of others, but at the same time, he doesn't necessarily allow himself to full give his trust full-heartedly all at once on a first encounter.

History
A cold snowy night in the wilderness of the Land of Water. A woman, bloodied and greatly injured is running from a psychopath in a black cloak and two long swords. She tries to escape from him in a nearby cave. She is holding a blanket that is covering something small. All is quiet when suddenly, the man's sword is run through the rock wall she is sitting against and through her heart. Now dead, the man pulls the sword out of her and is about to leave when suddenly he hears the sound of crying echoing from inside the cave. Curious, the murderer goes to inspect the source and is shocked to see that the woman was holding a baby. The man, grinning wildly had decided to take this baby as it was his target from the beginning.
Rikyu and Ririko was raised by their single mother, who was very poor, so food was hard to come obtain at often times. Each day Rikyu's little sister would be picked on by older boys because she was poor. Rikyu would always be there to stand up for his little sister but he would also get beaten up by them, this didn't stop Rikyu from protecting his little sister so he decided to train in order to win his fights instead of losing, nearly dead. It was at that time Rikyu decided to go to kendo place he had heard about from some ruffians. When Rikyu went into the gym, he was struck in awe at the sight of countless powerful men using their fists as weapons. Right there and then the eight year old Rikyu decided that he would learn kendo. Rikyu would demand to meet the master so the master could teach Rikyu kendo himself. After getting tired of the boy constantly asking, the students got their who was very old at the time. The students told the master about how Rikyu wanted to become a boxer at such an early age yet the master was about to refuse due to the fact he was so young. But to his surprise, Rikyu had gotten on his knees and begged that Mobumasu taught him so he could protect his sister. Swallowing up your pride to beg was a hard thing to do, yet this kid did it anyway so he could protect his little sister. Moved, Mobumasu agreed, but the only condition was that Rikyu was not to hold back and never complain. After months of training, Rikyu finally became strong enough to the point where no one would ever pick on his little sister ever again. As Rikyu and his little sister grew up, their bonds became stronger. However something happened that flipped his life upside down; Ririko had developed terminal disease and Rikyu's mother didn't have any health insurance to help her daughter. With not a single glimmer of hope, Ririko, Rikyu's little sister who he had protected even if it meant losing his life, had passed away. A month later, another life changing event had happened when guards busted down Ririko's front door and arrested his mother. He would later learn that Rikyu's mother had kidnapped him and Ririko while they were still infants and ran away for no reason.
His mother had told him that his father had died fight and he was an alcoholic who often threatened Rikyu and Ririko. But it was the opposite, his mother was the abusive alcoholic who had threatened to hurt her own children during her many drunken rampages. It was within a week when Rikyu met his father, who had a very similar name to his son's. Rikyu was reluctant at first, often becoming distant from his father because of the things his mother had told Rikyu about his father. Yet Rikyu slowly learned that his father was a kind and warm hearted man who had sobbed every night for twelve years because the family he created was gone, but now he had the only member left, which was enough to make his father happy. Eventually his father had gotten remarried to a teacher named Chikaze Toda. When he became old enough, his father would tell Rikyu the stories of his adventures as a shinobi and the scars he had earned along the way. Rikyu greatly respected his father for being a powerful shinobi to the point where he would often beat up other kids if they spoke ill of him. Whenever Rikyu did this, his father would scold him and make his son apologize to the kid he beat up. It was one day where another shinobi had bad mouthed Rikyu's father this time, calling him a loner and a freak; Rikyu would strike the man out of vengeance but when he did so, the man actually punched Rikyu in the face and stood over him, ready to stomp the child to death. As this was about to happen, Rikyu had pulled out a kunai knife and stabbed the man in the knee. Realizing what had happened, Rikyu would run home, leaving the man to bleed out and die. When Rikyu had got home, he told his father what happened in tears, that he had bitten off the leg of a grown man with no effort. His father knew this day would one day come and would begin to train his child with cruelty. He would throw his child into the wilderness for weeks, made him fight shinobis that were as strong as his Father, made him kill homeless children who were offered food if they could knock out Rikyu only for them to be killed if they failed. Rikyu's eyes had been opened to the cruelty of of his Father..
However things would change for Rikyu as his father had told him on his tenth birthday that he was not Rikyu’s father and he had killed his mother because he wanted the son of the man who took away his title as a shinobi. The woman who had been taking care of Rikyu and Ririko was a homeless woman who the man had a child with, Ririko, and was tortured until she thought she was Rikyu's mother and was thus convinced that Rikyu and Ririko would be in danger if they stayed with their father as the Man was a strong believer in the idea of "Survival of the Fittest" and upon hearing this Rikyu had came to the conclusion that this man had not come to save his child sooner because his own daughter was too weak...He had let Ririko die. This fact alone was enough to make Rikyu go crazy, every ounce of him wanted to rip this man to shreds...But he couldn't, he couldn't because this man deserved a slow death and emotional and mental pain on a massive scale. So Rikyu would leave, not knowing that this outcome was the man’s plan to corrupt the Kamejin family’s views, something they held dear. Soon the child had returned to his true home, meeting his true father who had bursted into tears and held his child, yet Rikyu did not hug back. Not long after his father introduced his son to the rest of the family and to his siblings, Rikyu had begun training even harder, wishing to know the best ways to kill that man as slowly as possible. The cold assassin had soon graduated from the academy and was became a genin, now he merely needed to become strong enough to kill a veteran shinobi so that he may serve his Brutal Justice.
