Even after the girl fled from Kishi’s arms, his limbs fell motionless to his sides and he just stood there blankly, continuing to listen to the voices reverberating their ghostly pleas throughout his hollow mind. His golden eyes seemed to just stare blankly ahead, not at anything particular but somewhere very distant. The dream mist may not have affected him the same way as the others, but this certainly wasn’t anything favorable, either, since his consciousness clearly wasn’t there.

Ted, Kishi’s Banette, watched carefully as the girl jostled his trainer around, trying to wake him up. Normally, Ted would attack such a foe, but strangely he found the effort to help his trainer out of his fugue state comforting. Thus, the ghost-type pokemon decided that he would join in the effort, as it seemed like a worthy cause. While this woman’s attempt was mostly light shaking and reassuring words, Ted has his own strategy, which involved a more physical approach. The Banette prepared to build a Shadow Ball, which he was sure would be enough power to knock Kishi awake.

There was a moment when Kishi could feel the touch of skin, perhaps a thumb of a finger, reaching for the top of his head, and his brushed against his temple, when suddenly a rush of color filled in the black expanse. He took a step back, startled, “Huh? Wh-?” It took him a few moments to process his surroundings, as this was not the first time something like this had happened to him. When he saw the panicked girl in front of him, he was at least reassured that it couldn’t have been a lot of lost time. Luckily, Banette was able to cease his Shadow Ball when he saw the more natural movement from his trainer, and quickly clung to his trainer’s leg.

As though to make sure that he had all the pieces to the puzzle straight in his head, Kishi’s head whipped back towards the city from which they had apparently escaped. Glittering mist could still be seen in the distance, dissipating into the atmosphere above the buildings. Kishi recalled the events from before the clouds of black had surrounded him, and knew that, weary as he was, they couldn’t go back there. Not yet, at least. As much as he would like to make his way back, find a warm and cozy and safe luxury hotel to rest for the reminder of the day and night, and possibly the entirety of the next day, he would have to push through. Even though his mind had been unconscious, his body had remained active without his will, so he would have to make do with as much energy as he could muster.

His Banette tugged at Kishi’s sleeve, and the trainer composed himself with a light smile and casual calmness. “Hey, it’s okay,” he reassured the pokemon, before turning back to the girl, whose name he had recalled to be Lieselotte. “You’re not hurt, are you?” He looked her over, as though to check to make sure he hadn’t dropped her or harmed her during those moments that he couldn’t account for.

Now that they were in a situation that required much less urgency, he decided it was a good a time as any to introduce himself, “I’m Kishi Saito, from Hoenn, and this is Ted.” “Banette,” the pokemon added. Once Kishi was satisfied that she had a clean bill of health, he crossed his arms and sighed, contemplating in his mind what their next moves should be. He reached into the white sack of his possessions, which was swung on his back, hidden by the white fabric he adorned himself with generously, and pulled out an oversized map. “Hnn!~” He leaned in closer to the girl, and then held the map out for both of them to see, crouching down to rest his chin on her shoulder, this way they were both on the same eye-level. “Well we certainly can’t go back to the city so,” he paused, using one finger to follow the path to the next area, “do you think we can make it Dendemille Town? Otherwise…” Teasingly, he flipped a piece of silky white hair behind his ear, “We can share my blanket tonight, Lieselotte.”

Lotte tilted her head curiously at Kishi's inquiry of her health, as few people cared enough to ask. She muttered a quick, embarrassed, "I'm fine," before returning her attention to her Pokeballs in her hand, caressing all three of them gently. She hoped he would've fawned over her more, but in the end, they both returned to their own health first.

"I already know you." Lotte explained in a rather condescending tone; she had known from the beginning. There was no need for any introductions at this point. Gym leaders didn't usually look up to the elite four, it was more of a jealous scorn, but Lotte knew all of them. She and Kishi had never met formally, but they'd exchanged glances more than a few times at the Hoenn League meetings in the past. She gave him another side eye for good measure. There was one more for the books.

Lotte kept looking back at the city, but unless she had some sort of diver's helmet and the accompanying scuba gear, there was no going back into Lumiose. She heard no screams, only orders over the intercom. At least the civilians were, to her knowledge, experiencing a peaceful slumber. Too bad they'd have to wake up to more chaos. If only Lotte knew they were thrown into the same nightmares she returned to every night. She wholly ignored the man's further comments and his comically dramatic actions, only focusing on the large airship in the sky. "We need to get help." She had no idea what Kishi's plan was, or why he was so calm, but Lotte felt an obligation to at least warn someone.

Would the Hoenn Champion even help? They were the strongest trainer Lotte knew of, but was unaware if they would even help a neighboring region. She knew some regions held tighter allegiances than most. Her hands felt her pockets for her Pokenav, but after groping flat pockets, the girl realized she must've dropped it in the commotion of the attack. Oh great, now she was going to have to ask the League for ANOTHER one... "Dendemille Town is good." She eyed the map in front of her, brushing away Kishi's tickley hair away from her face and neck. Dedemille was a ways away, but there was no other direction to go.

Kishi was unfamiliar with this situation: where he was not being fawned over. He had just saved this girl’s life! Yet she was all business and no play. Sure, there was a national crisis going on and this happened to be her region of current residence, but their options for what could be done in the short term were extremely limited. Plus, when one considers that Kishi was already weary from both the effects of the dream mist as well his usual state of lethargy, he wasn’t going to be of much use if he was passed out on the side of the road somewhere. He hoped that her estimation that they would make it to the next town before the need to set up camp was realistic, for both their sakes.

Standing up tall again, Kishi attempted, rather foolishly, to sound serious, but it didn’t exactly become him, “Well! We better get a move on!” He started literally marching forward a few steps, before deciding that the rigid swinging of his elbows was far too much effort than he had predicted. Ted rushed after Kishi, his short legs moving with unexpected alacrity, resuming his clinging to Kishi's ankle like he was hiding from the female trainer. Really, Ted just only had room in his pinecone-sized heart for one, and that was Kishi, and he would do just about anything to keep it that way. From what Ted could observe, this girl was not the friendliest, so he was going to be equally unfriendly.

At first, Kishi was at least amused by the fact that the route on which they travelled was scenic, but this fascination was short lived. After perhaps ten minutes or so, maybe twenty, Kishi’s feet were dragging behind him, and the yearning to just take a nap was becoming too much for him. Moving now at a Sliggoo’s pace, he was officially…overdramatic. “I…I’m not going to make it,” he muttered pessimistically, half whining. Part of him wanted to suggest that she go on without him and save herself, but another part of him realized that she might take the suggestion seriously, especially from the look on her face.

He didn’t exactly want to give her an out, because as much as he felt like putting on an elaborate display to further complain about his exhaustion and their imminent doom, he didn’t want to drive her away. There was something he could feel, and he wasn’t sure what it was exactly, that was telling him that he was supposed to be there with her. It was true that there were voices that sometimes gave Kishi suggestions, but this didn’t feel the same. Kishi was a religious man after all, so he truly believes that there’s a force guiding him to help people on this world.

Still, he wanted to stop. “Maybe we should take a break and um…” Lightbulb! “eat something!” Plopping himself on the ground, legs sprawled out, he rummaged through his bag and pulled out a little container. “Want to go halve-sies on a bologna and mustard sandwich?” His Banette looked curiously up at the woman, pondering what her next move might be.

Lotte rather liked this route-- it was very fall-colored, something the woman enjoyed seeing slightly more than she liked seeing everything else. It was the majority of the reason why she was so excited about her move from Sootopolis to Laverre City here in Kalos. It was a different kind of pretty, and appealed more to the shadowy Lotte than the salty stagnant waters of her hometown. Lotte moved swiftly across the landscape, paying little attention to Kishi, instead focusing all her energy into scanning their environment with animal-like instinct.

Her traveling partner was lagging behind, and Lotte had half a mind to just leave him there to get help herself, but she had a feeling he might get lost and die.... somehow. Just look at him now, dragging himself along the ground. The Pokemon around here didn't seem so friendly, and he might get eaten. Plus, the process of getting a new elite four could take a long time. "Hurry up," she called, grabbing onto Kishi's wrist and attempting to drag him along. It seemed he wasn't even aware of their mission, nor cared enough about the invasion of Lumiose to do anything about it. "You're slow." Sure, she would've liked to pick him up, but her scrawny arms would most likely break under the pressure.

He fell to the ground dramatically and pulled something out of his bag. Inside the small container was a disgusting looking sandwich, which Lotte was rather vocal about. "Ew." Yep, that was it. She made no facial expression to show her inadvertence to "go halve-sies" with Kishi. Her gaze returned to Lumiose, where the mist was starting to dissipate. There was hope in her eyes for a few moments, before the helicopters started to arrive, orders being barked from loudspeakers. Lumiose was for sure lost, and by the looks of it, they needed more than just a handful of skilled trainers to take it back.

"Hopeless." Lotte hissed, collapsing onto the ground near Kishi. No use for urgency now. She gently stole the container from Kishi's hands, and after struggling to get it open for several seconds, removed the sandwich from inside. It even smelled unappetizing. Nevertheless, Lotte ripped it in half mercilessly, giving the smaller, mangled side to Kishi first, before taking a bite out of her half. Well........ she expected worse from bologna and mustard.

Kishi wasn't sure if he should be pleased when Lotte finally surrendered and agreed to sit down with him. Really, he was happy he was sitting, but the look on her face suggested that this was not a decision that had come easy. He wondered what kind of little creatures lived inside her head that dictated her actions. While his mostly likely resembled balls of fluff and slow moving blobs of lard, he expected hers to resemble some sort of animatronic invention that was utterly resistant to alterations of its programming. Kishi barely had the reflexes to react when he found himself holding a mangled third of a once-whole sandwich, but he wasn't about to complain now that he was at least winning the 'let's not go anywhere' battle.

Using at least an ounce more care and finesse, Kishi proceeded to tear his piece in half and handed the portion to Ted, who accepted it graciously. His golden-zipper mouth opened wide as he inserted the substance into his mouth and swallowed it whole. Then, he proceeded to continue what he was doing before, which was staring down the other individual, the girl, who he clearly didn't like. Granted, Ted had a tendency to stare at people all day and all night, but in this particular case he felt that he couldn't take his guard down, because for whatever reason he felt that she was a threat to his relationship with Kishi, which was obviously stronger than every relationship that he allowed Kishi to have with every other living being everywhere.

The measly four bites that was left didn't take Kishi long to consume, so when he was finished and Lotte was, well, not, he played with his fingers nervously, contemplating whether or not to interrupt her and make some casual conversation. Normally, Kishi had no problem with conversing, but for whatever reason, Lotte was not as receptive to his normally inherent and natural charm that the heavens had gifted to him. Still, it was unlike him to just sit in silence, at least while he was conscious. "So..."

It was only then that he realized that maybe it was Ted's ceaseless stares of intimidation that was making Lotte so uncomfortable. After all, it wasn't uncommon for people to be wary of ghost pokemon, and that wariness can't be alleviated when the ghost pokemon in question appears to have a hostile intent. Kishi petted the Banette on his head before recalling him back to his pokeball. "Sorry about him. He's not used to strangers," the casual grin that he normally wore was returning to his rightful place as he continued to speak, although it was possible he didn't exactly have the most engaged audience. Well, he planned to change that!

Leaning a bit towards her, he noticed how her cheeks filled as she chewed. It was cute really, even with the little fleck of yellow, which he motioned to wipe away with his sleeve. "You've got a little...mustard there." Part of him expected her to edge away, but he tried to transition into a new topic as quickly as possible, conserving the moment for himself. "I'm lucky I ran into you out there or I'd still be wandering around for sure. This is a good change of plan don't you think?"

Saying it out loud reminded Kishi of the letter tucked into his clothes, with the reason why he had come to the region in the first place. Although he was partly disappointed, at least he got to hang out with a real-live drama queen and not watch them on that tiny screen all the way on the other side of his bedroom from where he sat in his jigglypuff-shaped bean-bag bed. With a rather large yawn, the tall trainer leaned back on his forearms. He could feel his eyes squinting as he stared off into the distance a bit. "Hey, what's that?" He could see a tall building in the distance, with tall windows and a rustic-feeling. If that was a hotel, Kishi might just have enough energy to do a little dance before sprinting off to luxury and hospitality staff.

Lotte was used to the presence of ghosts, and they made her feel at home, however afraid of them she was. Even now, she could feel an invisible Yamask floating several yards away, unbeknownst to everyone else but Lotte. It was a threatening presence but it kept her cautious. At this point, after so many years, Lotte barely acknowledged her "friend." "It's ok." she started, picking at her sandwich nonchalantly. "I'm scary." She attempted a playful smile at Ted and Kishi, but it turned into the image of a sick dog trying to bare its fangs.

The woman took another too-large bite out of her sandwich, barely leaving herself enough time to swallow it down before going back at it. She only paused when Kishi wiped her face with his sleeve. She closed her eyes and leaned into it, craving human touch. She fought the urge to lick off the remainder, and instead smeared it off with her wrist. She hummed a thanks, and started to assault her sandwich once again.

Once finished, she let out a large burp, before her eyes grew wide and she stifled the second one, realizing that it wasn't a 'normal' thing to do. Lotte rolled back onto her arms as well, after eyeing Kishi's pose. "That's the Lost Hotel." Lotte said. She smiled, proud at herself for knowing something about a region she wasn't from. "It's scary in there." Well, probably. Lotte had only heard stories, and seen it from the outside. Punks hung about, and to Lotte, that usually meant bad business. But, some of her ghost friends were from there. She leaned forward, curling up into a ball, resting her head on her knees. "...I want to go." She looked at Kishi with her sad, heavy-lidded eyes in an unknowing display of her own sort of charm. The kind that makes people feel so sad for you that they want to help you. She tugged on the hem of Kishi's sleeve gently.

In any other circumstance, Kishi would find a ‘challenge’ to be a tiresome word, all on its own. In this case, however, the fact that Lotte wasn’t giving in to any of Kishi’s usual ploys was more intriguing than burdensome. In fact, Kishi was looking for change in his general state of being, so this could very well be the exact sort of directional shift, displayed by a clear lack of fawning, that he needed. However, he wasn’t exactly about to sacrifice his excessively luxurious lifestyle. So, when informed that this building in the distance was truly a hotel, the joy he felt in his heart allowed him to spring to his feet.

Up until this point, Kishi might have been afraid to ask if he could go off course to such a place, but before he even had to make the suggestion, Lotte seemed to make the request herself, coupled with this incredibly adorable, yet oddly feral, look that made Kishi literally swallow his thoughts in order to absorb the moment. Taking the opportunity to both accept her request and to significantly appreciate her body warmth and overall squishiness, he scooped her up in one arm as he had earlier. “Y-Yes!”

With this newfound and unusual energy, Kishi prepared to march towards the hotel until her heard a rustle behind him. His head seemed to turn without the rest of him, to cautiously investigate the source. Kishi’s golden eyes grew wide as he saw the approaching hoards of toadstool-like pokemon surrounding him. “What are those…?” Confused as to why they seemed to be surrounding him and multiplying in number, the tall trainer looked down to see that his boot was buried in a substantial collection of, now completely squashed, berries. In a panic, Kishi grabbed a pokeball, releasing Wizard, his Liepard.

Wizard looked up at his trainer expectantly, before looking at the now blockade of foongus surrounding them. The pokemon reacted logically, and sprinted, leaving his trainer behind, towards the hotel. Kishi, coupled with a contortedly unnatural-smile, stated his intentions to Lotte, “I think I’m going to make a run for it now.” Still carrying the girl in his arms, he made a frantic dash behind Wizard. He had never moved so quickly in his life.

Practically falling through the double doors, Kishi panted, and placed Lotte back down as his limbs swung around him like jelly. Wizard, who had obviously arrived at the hotel faster, rolled his eyes. Kishi then asked, not to anyone directly but hopefully someone who worked there, “Is there a room on the first floor?” He wasn’t sure he could handle stairs right now. Still panting, he shut his eyes for a moment praying that this place had a spa, or at least a room service menu with enough desserts to send him into a week-long coma.

Lotte was scooped up once again, but she had gotten used to the feeling of being in Kishi's arms relatively quickly, and went limp as he bounced along. About halfway through she got bored, and started absentmindedly nibbling on the end of her scarf. By the time they had nearly reached the hotel, the tip was completely soaked in saliva. Kishi started looking around in a panic, and Lotte started to wiggle in anxiety as well. Surrounding them, there were several Foongus, which to Lotte's scared eyes looked like thousands. Or maybe it was thousands? She scrambled to get out of Kishi's arms, but the man was already sprinting away from the horde, and into the hotel.

Once dropped, Lotte crumpled to the ground onto her hands and knees, patting herself to make sure her Pokemon were all still there. Kishi was looking around again, talking to... himself? Did he not know this hotel was abandoned? "There's no one alive here to answer you." Lotte spoke rather ominously. Truth be told, she was familiar with the lost hotel as a place where hoodlums and hooligans hung around. Not really Kishi's type, apparently. Lotte could see he looked scared, though misinterpreted it to be fear of the hotel rather than fear of the fungi chasing after them.

Lotte ran over to a trash can after seeing a purple aura come out of it, completely ignoring Kishi. She dug her hands inside, as if looking for something. She fished around for only a few moments before pulling out a sleeping Trubbish, curled around a crumpled up piece of paper. She grabbed the ball of paper out of its hands before carefully placing it back into the trash can before handing her find to Kishi. "It will keep you safe." Lotte could find mystical items anywhere, she was good at it. Though in this situation it was just her form of a trick to get Kishi to feel better.

Out of her pocket came Kelpie, her Swampert. "We'll carry you now." The hulking mudfish swept Kishi off his feet and deeper into the hotel, passing a few punks battling. Lotte trailed close behind, making sure no one followed them. Kelpie ended up bursting into a dilapidated room, with probably pounds of cobwebs stuck to the ceiling, and inches of dust lining all the decomposing furniute. "I found a room. It's ok. You don't have to pay me."

As he panted dramatically, still in his position on the floor, which was covered with an unpleasantly thick layer of dust, the tall man sat up with Lotte’s statement about the hotel. The way she phrased the remark made it seem like just about everyone in this place had died. And, after surveying the place, Kishi would agree that the inside of the hotel was so unkempt that it might as well be a tomb filled with things that no one would possibly want, including but not limited to a human-sized pile of dust, an old sneaker that smelled like infection, and now, the piece of garbage that Lotte seemed to believe would provide some sort of shield from whatever it was that was living here. Apparently, this company now included the pair, while Wizard cleaned his paw nonchalantly, letting his trainer figure out the rather unfortunate reality of their circumstance.

Although Kishi was happy to see that Lotte must be warming up to him, just by the mere fact that she was speaking more, the actual things she was saying were neither comforting nor attractive. Yet, the determination in her eyes in her clear attempt to dominate the situation, the same look Kishi had noticed when he had first seen her in the city, was enough to make him ignore the red flags and instead fill his mind back with pink clouds and sparkles. This vision was interrupted when…”Carry me?”

All at once, Kishi found himself, sprawled out backside like a turtle while this overgrown sea monster darted off with him. “Waaah!!” If there was anything that was going to scare him about being in this hotel, it was being kidnapped, not any ghost that might be lurking around.

As though she was somehow proud of her room choice, the female trainer offered to pay for this room. While he hoped knew she wasn’t being serious…there was a bed. Standing up slowly on his own two feet which were, admittedly, wobbly, a bed was better than a forest floor, and it was a symbol that basically stood for Kishi’s preferred way of life. With a look like this was the most beautiful sight he had seen in ages, he approached the object and with a quick sweeping motion, wiped away the dust to reveal the almost-white cushioning. Wizard, who didn’t need encouragement to stay in the scene, went over to the window, understanding his trainer’s intentions, to allow the cool breeze to sweep through.

Stretching his arms above his head, Kishi let out a large yawn and rubbed the back of his head. He proceeded to set his bag and katana down and removed some of the outer pieces of his attire, folding them on the floor by the bed, since the once-night table looked as though it might collapse. He looked over at Lotte, about to thank her on the find, when he noticed a dark shadow behind her head.

Approaching her slowly, the ghost-type trainer was familiar with the mysterious, orb Pokemon known as Ghastly, surely there to act as a poltergeist to unsuspecting visitors and clearly preparing a sneak attack from behind Lotte. With a wave of his arm and his wide, wing-sized sleeve, Kishi made a shooing motion “Hey now! She didn’t do anything to you! Go be peevish somewhere else!” “Liiiepard!” Wizard added, with a growl. The Ghastly, as though surprised that he was caught before he could even try, quickly vanished.

Once Kishi was sure that the coast was now clear, he leaned over Lotte’s shoulder and closed the door, before realizing he was practically standing on top of her. He smirked, as though slightly amused, and flashed his golden eyes, “Well it’s a good thing you’re not afraid of ghosts, hm?”

As Lotte realized Kishi was settling in to the circumstances quite easily, she too began to calm herself. The man plopped himself down onto the dusty bed, seemingly relieved to at least have something to sleep on, though Lotte was perfectly content with the floor. She laid there now, turning to her side, allowing the dust to stick to her. Her Beheeyem materialized in front of her, and like the freak that he was, began to use his psychic abilities to clean as much as he could without actually moving. Lotte didn't have much control over her Pokemon, they normally did what they liked, but some of them felt so sorry for Lotte that they still listened to her. More often than not, the strong bond between her and her Pokemon came from each of them realizing just how much their trainer sacrificed for them.

Luckily, she got manageable Pokemon as well. How would she ever handle a Tyrantrum, she daydreamed, face rubbing into the dust. She sat up and admired it flake off her skin and float back onto the ground. She looked at Kishi, but he was fixated on something in the background. She followed his gaze and found a familiar Ghastly behind her, edging closer. Her body went rigid with fear, but she pushed past it to be polite to the owner of the room. With a crooked smile on her face, Lotte put a hand out to make contact, but Kishi began to yell at it to get out. The girl twisted her head around with eyes wide, her mouth in the shape of a small 'O.'

"Kishi! You stupid--" Before she even thought about finishing her sentence, she was up onto her feet quicker than anyone had ever thought possible, and rushed after the Ghastly, leaving nothing but a swirling cloud of dust behind her. "This is its room! We're deeeaaaaad"" Her voice trailed off as she chased after the shadow, but it stopped in a dead-end hallway next to their room, snickering. Suddenly, hundreds of Ghastly solidified around her, swirling around her as if there were some wind. One appeared in front of her face, and Lotte's shriek was cut off in the middle, as her eyes rolled back into her head and her consciousness faded.

Possessing an awkward human body, the Ghastly made its way down the hallway back to the room with the white human and stood eerily in the doorway, posing Lotte to look more like a ball-jointed doll or puppet rather than an actual human. Her eyes were dilated, and her hair floated mystically around her, the dust beginning to join her in the air. Her body began to step closer and closer to Kishi. In the middle of her encroachment, Lotte's eyes returned to normal, and looked frantically at the man she'd only known for about an hour for help, before everything faded to black again, this time a menacing smile appearing on her face.

Kishi has had a lot of experience with ghosts and spirits. There was a reason why he was a ghost-type trainer at an Elite level, and it wasn’t just an affinity for fighting and battling. He shared a connection with the ghost-type pokemon, and with the world from which they were summoned: the spirit world. Kishi doesn’t recall ever having been to the spirit world, but sometimes he would have this feeling that he was supposed to be there, or supposed to be in a particular place, and often didn’t understand the cause or reason.

Kishi views his connection with his pokemon, and his strong relationship he shares with them, as a blessing. His ability to heal other people simply with touch and a transference of his energy was also a blessing, especially for all those he was able to help. But then, there were aspects of his ‘connection’ that, to this day, he works with any remaining energy he has to at least lessen or subdue.

While there were some people, many in fact, who believed that Kishi’s unique abilities were due to his piety, there were others who speculated that this was not mere 'connection' - that Kishi himself was part ghost.

Through the chaos of the events earlier that day, there was that familiar feeling of purpose when he met Lotte for the first time, but, true to past experience, Kishi didn’t know the reason why. In this case, however, he had decided to delay his pursuits in this region to figure it out.

Kishi watched confusedly as Lotte ran after the Ghost pokemon whom he had just shooed from the room, but was even more dumbfounded when she suddenly reappeared with a pack of Gastly’s. Most notably was the strangeness in her mannerisms, seeming unnatural. Sure, Kishi had already found intrigue in that the girl was noticeably different from most other girls he had encountered, but this was beyond just quirkiness; this was violent.

One might say that, if Kishi were to combine both his piety and his ghostliness, he could find certain skill in the art of the exorcism. Unfortunately, he had neither practiced nor tried the act, and would evaluate himself as unfit.

Consistent with his aversion to physical activity, and given that Kishi was already fairly exhausted as it was, he thought he might attempt to talk his way out of this one. He put his hands on his hips, sighing reluctantly as he reached for his katana. “Come on now, can’t you just let her go? Don’t make me use this.”

Peevishly, the Ghastlies synchronously cackled, and Kishi gritted his teeth as he mustered up his remaining energy to handle this and he unsheathed the blade. On his waist-belt, he could feel one pokeball in particular rustling against him, while Wizard took his side. He wasn’t about the attack the other trainer, but he had to figure out some way, maybe even just with intimidation, to have this pokemon release her from its grasp. He pointed the tip of the at her, hesitantly.

Kishi wasn’t exactly one to be demanding, but he contorted his face in such a way as to at least give the appearance that he knew what he was doing as he stated, “Release her.” His pokeball continued to protest, and Kishi gripped the handle tighter with both hands. Suddenly, a ghostly-aura, which looked strikingly analogous to the dark mistiness of a shadow ball seemed to engulf both the blade and his hands, but Kishi was sure it wasn’t he who was conjuring such an energy. Still, he commanded again, “Release her!” louder this time, the last working lightbulb in the room burst just before pressing the blade slowly into the girl.

Yet, it didn’t seem to slice her in two, but rather separate her from what was inside of her. As he pressed on, he instructed his Liepard to take care of the pack of unwanted disturbers, “Wizard, use Sucker Punch.” Leaping with impressive agility, the pokemon seemed to jump from ghastly to ghastly with an impressive blow, one by one until the last was the one that had finally emerged from Lotte. It was a great deal bigger than the others, but Wizard’s dark-type move was more than enough to overpower the threat. Kishi’s golden eyes seemed to glow in the now darkened room, and he reached for Lotte’s hand to pull her from the battle.

Honestly, Kishi wasn’t sure what had really happened at that moment, or what he had done, or if Lotte was okay. He did know that he had just about depleted his own energy. His Katana, which was no longer surrounded by a strange cloud of energy, fell from his hands as he struggled at this point just to support his own weight. Once the Ghastlies were clear, Wizard approached, poisedly, and finally, the angry pokeball burst open.

The Dusknoir emerged, as though he had been summoned, and his great, shadowy hands steadied Kishi’s shoulders until he finally muttered, “Are you all right?” … he continued, “What was that? Why did that happen?”
