I found this article fascinating, and it made a lot of sense. There's a TED Talk at the end as well. I'm curious to hear your reactions.

Wow was that interesting. I learned I am an empath from you. which makes total sense to me when i looked it up. and i scored 4.0 gpa in high school. I also have an extremely good memory of events.
I have social anxiety and regular anxiety really super bad. its worse than anything else i have. I go through anxiety every day. and just being with people is very difficult. I would say that it makes sense and is accurate. because we can tell what people are feeling at the moment. and being around people and sensing an attitude or rude behaviour is easy to pick up so being in a crowd is difficult because I can sense when peopel dislike me or are just jerks in general. which makes me very uncomfortable. because i sense if someone cares about me or doesnt give a crap. and most people are not genuinely interested in me as a person. which makes it socially awkward for me. I feel so uncomfortable because of what i sense. This probably sounds terribly negative and I am sorry I dont mean it that way. because when i do find someone who is genuine. It is amazing and we have lifelong friendships when i do. but its rare. our society seems to have a bit of shallowness (If thats a word) that seems to influence people much. I wonder if thats why empaths have that anxiety. because they know when someone cares about them and someone doesnt give a hoot. I don't know. I would love to look further into this and see. thats my take anyways. but i never made the connection until now. it makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you for sharing that.
