Okay, if you're a fan fiction writer, then you've probably been in this boat with me. Have you ever written a story, literally nurtured it, and polished it so much that you believe it's perfect; and then you go to post it, full of pride for your work... and then no one reads it. You wait patiently for a while, and then weeks go by, then months... still not a single favorite, or review. Some times you start to reevaluate yourself as an author. Maybe you weren't as good as you thought, maybe your summary wasn't enthralling enough to catch any one's attention? Or maybe, it's just really not you.
Well, I know it happens. The self doubt starts to set in, and you start to wonder if you should even continue writing any more, especially if the product you posted was your very first piece of work. I know it's tough, but we all have to keep our chins up, and keep doing what we love, even if we feel like no one else is appreciating our work.
So here is my real point, I wanted to open a topic where we can each share a story that we have posted (preferablly on FF.net) that hasn't recieved any, to little love. Just post what fandom your story is in, what your stories name is and your username, and maybe a brief description. If I'm familiar with the fandom, I'll go read your story, and review it and maybe this way we can all start boosting each other's confidence as writers.
I'll start it off: I have a crossover one shot over on FF.net for Hetalia/D.Gray-man. I am Loreyulia, and my story is titled The Chrysanthemum and the Lotus. It is rated M for a mildly graphic sex scene between two men, and I understand if Yaoi ain't your thing. The basic summary of the story, is that it is an A/U set in reality, where Kiku (Japan) is a Nation who meets and trains Yu Kanda in the ways of the sword.
I hope we can all share our stories, and grow stronger as a community of writers, because too many people these days look to break things down, that were meant to achieve greater heights.
