Pokédex Entry: ❝A Pokémon created by recombining Mew's genes. It's said to have the most savage heart among Pokémon.❞
Appearance: Mew holds the DNA of every living Pokémon in existence. Therefore, so does Mewtwo. This Pokémon is a strange individual to look at, and easy to identify upon first glance. Being one of the very first Pokémon to be created by human interference, it is only natural that he grew into a humanoid frame, after being held in a containment chamber as a clone. His full body is slender and gray, transcending down into a long purple tail that rounds off at the end, muted of its vibrancy. His hands are a similar shape, but have three fingers and end with ball-like joints at the tips. Aside from this, his legs are relatively bulky towards the upper sections, and slim down into his three-pronged feet. An arc-shaped appendage curves downwards from the back of his head and between where his shoulder blades would be. On top of all this, he has a semi-rounded head with a pointed muzzle, and cold, jaded eyes that complete his intimidating nature. This, however, is just his normal form.
Mewtwo is one of several select Pokémon to have a mega Evolution, but based on recent released information, he has two alternate forms for such an adaptation. Based on his state of nature, he can turn into either Form X or Form Y.
Form Y is known to easily resemble the letter Y, which explains why his tail was moved to his head. Mewtwo's eyes are turned to a bright red color during this phase. His feet have no appendages besides his toes, giving him no fulcrums to balance on, which is the main reason why he flies the entire duration of this transformation.
Form X, however, has made his tail stand up, and given him horns on his head. His eyes are sky blue this time around, and his forearms and thighs/legs are strengthened with horizontal "veins." He walks/flies with his toes being the fulcrums for his whole body, much like the way Lucario only walks on the balls of his feet.

Personality: Cold and distant, Mewtwo has lost all his faith in humanity, after analyzing they potentially wanted to use Pokémon for their own personal gain. He isolates himself both physically and mentally, seeing no true reason to aid others after his observations. He cannot trust humans and Pokémon alike, due to the fact that they abused him in his first years as an active Pokémon. This in mind, he is known to be very aggressive and thinks of nothing but battling and defeating its foes. Its viciousness results from repeated DNA splicing and, in the anime, the loss of its friend Amber (whom it completely forgot about after its creators administered a serum to wipe its memory). Though, in more recent events, Mewtwo seems to slowly be developing a more guardian-like nature to protect those he sees have a kind heart, and a selfless nature. It will take time for him to adapt, though, seeing how there are many more horrible humans wandering the world with their petty attempts to take control of it.

History/Background: Oh, where to begin? When his life first began, Mewtwo looked much more like an actual Mew, and awoke in a dream-like universe that had manifested in the confines of his mind. There, he met three clones of the Kanto Region starter Pokémon, and a green-haired girl by the name of Amber. Each one of these beings had 2s at the ends of their names, to symbolize the fact that they were no more than copies of their original descendants. He had momentarily befriended them all, before they quickly faded away, and he began to cry. His emotions were growing out of control. Little to his knowledge, in reality, scientists had kept him locked in an experimentation capsule in order to further strengthen him. They found his physical levels going unstable, and quickly injected him with a serum that made him completely forget about Amber and the Clone Starters. Years passed, and Mewtwo grew into the six-foot form of a humanoid creature, before he was released from his captivity and came to the realization that the humans before him saw him as nothing more than a project, not even a living being. He was greatly angered, and destroyed the laboratory as a result, letting it burn to the ground, before he was found by Team Rocket Leader Giovanni, who offered to help him focus his powers. Mewtwo agreed, and was then placed into a full suit of armor.
The Pokémon went on to do most of Team Rocket's dirty work, and battled part time for the Viridian City gym. It was a while later that Giovanni told him of his twisted control methods, which only made him furious like before. Mewtwo destroyed his armor and vowed to regin over the world one day. With this plot in mind, he had set up a brilliant scheme that included inviting several trainers to New Island in order to capture their Pokémon and make new clones, building an armada to help further his goal of world domination. However, his actions forced his predecessor Mew to arrive and battle against him, trying to convince him that true power comes from the heart. Mewtwo was disgusted and opened fire, turning one trainer to stone in the process, which made him come to the realization that not all people and Pokémon in the world were bad-hearted. His new thoughts in mind stated that ❝It does not matter who is more powerful, that the clones and originals both have value, and that the circumstances of one's birth is irrelevant: it is what one does with life that determines one's destiny.❞ He then flew away, and erased the memories of the trainers he encountered.
It is implied that about a year later or so, Mewtwo and his group of clone Pokémon to find the perfect safe haven, which was done so upon Mt. Quena of the western Johto Region. They sought paradise here, and it wasn't long, before Giovanni ordered Team Rocket to hunt him down again. Mewtwo responded to this in an aggressive manner, but also a very protective nature, which resulted in his momentary capture. It was then that a trainer or three managed to help him escape, and took him to a healing spring to help him recover. He asked why they would choose to help him, to which the youngest of them responded that no one needs a reason to help someone in trouble. This thought in mind, Mewtwo then assumed the trainer to be one of a kind, to which he was corrected with the statement that everyone is. He was then healed in the spring in the same manner that all Pokémon were, which made him believe he was a Pokémon after all. He then emerged from the spring and used the full extent of his psychic abilities to push the lake and the spring underground, as to protect the residing Pokémon from anymore human interference. Since then, Mewtwo has been travelling around the world, secluding himself in a multitude of dark places, let alone moving under the cover of night.
It is known to this day that Mewtwo was created by humans, but not everyone is aware that his vicious nature is slowly morphing into something more protective. Several years ago, he encountered a horde of Genesect that threatened to destroy an entire city in the Kalos Region, and as a result, took it upon himself to take up combat and unleash his Mega Evolution Y for the first time, under the instinct that he needed to protect. The results of the outcome are not discussed today, though very few actually know he has the ability to Mega Evolve.
