Personality: Oh, dear Palkia. Barry is a wild child. He's a typically happy boy with unstoppable determination to match. Once his mind is set on something, it's impossible to avert his attention. Though, there are times when his focus moves from one subject to another without warning. Either way, he's always on his toes, and stopping him from fulfilling his dreams is close to impossible.
Favored Hobbies/Activities: Running, talking, some dancing, hitting on Whinter, and battling. He can't do any activity that requires him to sit still.
Interests: Anything athletic just about sums it up, even if that means running to catch up with his best friend across regions.
Dislikes: Sitting still, boring pass times, disappointment, losing battles, and being left behind.
Strengths: Well, Barry's witty mindset is his only real strength. He's a quick thinker, and it only takes him a second to come up with a brilliant solution (or so he thinks). If there's an easy way out, he'll take it without a second thought.

History/Background: Ah, the glory days were a beautiful thing. When Barry was just a child, he grew up in Twinleaf Town, always running around the house and pretending his stuffed animals were actual Pokemon. Despite how ridiculous it was at the time, it made his life much more fun when it came to Pokemon. All the time, he would be sitting in front of the TV, watching big Pokemon battles with Elite Four members and Champions alike. All his life, he was training to become the best, despite how far he is from getting there now.
Once he was about five years old, his dad, commonly known as the Tower Tycoon, had to leave home in order to keep up with his job, and the money that came out of it. He loved Pokemon battles, but he loved his family even more. For that reason, Barry was sad to find he had been left alone in the dark, despite how much he watched his dad battle on TV.
When the time finally came, he was twelve years old, and ready to set out and see the world, despite his mother's constant bickering about his being too young and absent-minded. He was stubborn enough to keep arguing until he won, and went out into the world on his own. At first, he was scared, and had no idea what to do first. It was a bumpy path, and his hot-headed temper and quick wits got him into a lot of trouble with both the authorities, and Team Galactic when they were still around. Regardless, he managed to skyrocket all the way to the top, beating the gym leaders and moving onto the Elite Four when he was just thirteen. Throughout this little journey, Barry had been repeatedly bashed on and picked at concerning his training abilities and Pokemon. Due to this bullying, he fell into a depression for a long time, masked by his hyper attitude towards training and traveling. It came to a point where he was ready to give up...until he met that special someone.
Barry stood outside the doors to the Pokemon League building, scared at first to go off and challenge them. But just before he went in, he met someone else at the same time when their hands touched the doorknob simultaneously. Whinter Kousetsu. The both of them were scared, but supported each other all the way through the Elite battles. When they got to the Champion's room, however... There was no one there. The referee told them the previous Champion had abandoned his position and left, leaving the two of them to decide who would be the next big thing. They duked it out for hours with a tough six-on-six battle. But eventually, Barry was knocked down by Whinter's Torterra, and her new ranking was ensured. Despite this, they became the best of friends, and hung out whenever there wasn't a challenger around. The new job description she had led to the both of them moving to new places. Of course, for Barry, he really didn't have much of a place to go, and moved in with Whinter at her grandparents' mansion in Sunyshore City.
Another two years passed by, and Whinter was starting to get bored, knowing that Barry was the only trainer that came close enough to beating her at the time. She was fifteen, and craved adventure—even more than he did. So, she set out, packing up the Champion headquarters and making it more of a mobile challenging game. Barry followed along, determined on upholding the strong bond they formed—and maybe the crush he'd developed along the way. He was seventeen, and she was fifteen, when they came across something that would change both of their lives for the better—Dawn Rhys. Besides him, no one had ever come so close to beating her, not to the point where the battle ended in a draw. With her new friendship formed, he realized it would be better to branch out a little, knowing he couldn't latch onto her forever. So, he set out on his own, giving her a bittersweet farewell.
He went off traveling the world soon after, and did so for the next three years. The guy was like a rocket, blasting off from Sinnoh, to Kanto, to Hoenn, to Johto. He really had no intention to visit the Unova region, seeing how its Pokemon seemed a little... "artificial" to him. As in, he thought they weren't even real Pokemon at one point, considering one looked exactly like an ice cream cone. This in mind, he settled down in Sunyshore City, waiting for that one day that Whinter would come back and spice up his life again.
