☽ Nightlight, brightlight, Sweet dreams I bestow. . . ☾
Ok guys I want a cosplay thread too!!
Now lets all be real here. Not all of us have that super skinny figure required for by most characters we like. It's a sad fact of life. Why? Because guys are afraid of us big boned and voluptuous women, and men.
My very first cosplay was Norway from Axis Powers Hetalia. I was a huge fan of the series and it isn't the typical England or America. I actually bought that cosplay off the internet and I was absolutely miserable with the result. Not only did they make me pay more because I was too 'big boned' for any of their patterns, but they still made it too small even when I made sure to add several inches to the measurement to make sure it would be enough and hopefully too big.
Nope the jacket came too small, and even after I got it tailored so that it fit, I still looked like Fricken Violet Beauregarde in her blueberry form. I didn't feel good about myself and that convention, though it was my first, turned into a failure for me.
I haven't let that keep me down though and while I haven't cosplayed my last few years I did get inspired to try again. I don't do full on cross play outfits anymore. Instead I'm taking a liking to redesigning my favorite characters, taking their bare essence and translating it into a beautiful dress that won't get super hot in the summer con heat, of make me feel unattractive.
I'm going to be sharing some of my designs that I hope to one day make, and I'll also post the finished results when I am done, and if anyone requests I'll tell them how I made any props.
I'd like to also point out that these dresses do have my notes on how they should end up looking in the end, and if you'd like to make them, feel free to. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you did credit to me if you used them. Designing dresses isn't always easy (Pitch's was a pain in the a**) and I would hate for someone to make money off of my creation. Which is why I signed all of my works. ^^
