A helpful suggestion if you're running a contest that involves voting:
Reserve one of the posts on the first page for submissions and keep up with links to those posts. Then at the end of the contest post up a forum and ask which submission each person enjoyed the most.
I just realized after I typed all of that it sounds like common sense. Oh Well. Pitch could use something like that. He's insane in the membrane.
