this has been running for donkeys now and its always 2 main partys the donkey logo v elephant logo demo v rep
my view i wouldn't trust romley as far as i could em (put what ever close thing to be put) i see him as a fat cat friend and loads of people losing there jobs due to it rom will make the rich richer and the poor homeless as he said for the economy it will be worse off with him in power
obama hes kept to his word on most things and changes highlight being the nhs to america (national health service) do to he is right heath insurers rip patients off and make billions profit each year its nice to see he's black profile disappeared and most americans accepted that he has made some impact but in reality he needs more time to complete his goals
when ever the vote goes out if i was voting it would either be obama or a independent party
or me lol

Voted today, and to say that Romney rubbed me the wrong way is an understatement. Not that I care too much for Obama either, but still. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

I voted for Obama. I have many gay friends and Romney is pretty much dead set against their rights for marriage and other such things.

I'm sick of the Republican/Democrat game. I don't trust Romney as far as I can throw him, and I hate that Obama has continued a lot of the types of things Bush did that I absolutely hated (drone strikes that kill civilians, Patriot Act, NDAA to name a few). I voted Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala. I'm sure they won't win, but I am done with voting for the lesser of two bad choices. I'm voting my conscience.

I have SOOOO much to say regarding this, but my iPad is about to die, so I'll just keep it short. I plugged it in and am trudging on this very tiring road... So that I may make a reply based on the facts, some conjecture, and my views.
1. Promises- Obama promised to cut our national debit in half in his first term, or he would be happy to be a one term president.(http://youtu.be/jyrlMr0Bedo) He not only has almost doubled it(apxc10T in 2009, over 16T today), but he has spent more than any other president. He also said in 2008 that it was "Irresponsible" of Bush to add 4 trillion(spending apx 500B per year) over his 8 year term, when Obama has added 5 trillion(spending about 1.2Trillion per year, or, double what Bush spent) in his 4 year term.(http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/federal_debt_chart.html) In addition to this massive debt, our federal credit rating has been downgraded (for some lenders 3 times), meaning that the US is considered a liability when it comes to lending.(http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_government_credit-rating_downgrade#section_6)
2. Jobs-In Jan 2009, when Obama took office unemployment was at 7.8%. By 2010 our unemployment rate spiked to 10%, after the stimulus was introduced, and it's NOW(as of oct2012) only down to 7.9, which is close to where it was when Obama entered into office. And THAT rate is ONLY that low, because unemployment benefits have run out for many, and they no longer count towards the unemployment precentage. Furthermore, several those who do have jobs are either working only part time, working under their skillset, working for minimum wage or a combination of any and all of these. (http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000)
3. Healthcare- people are being FORCED to buy "Obamacare" or pay a fine. It is said not to be a tax, but that is exactly what it is. In 2016, when the penalty is fully phased in, it will be $695 for an individual (up to $2,085 per family) or 2.5 percent of household income, whichever is greater. The penalty will increase annually based on the cost of living. (http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/15/whats-the-penalty-for-not-having-insurance/)
4. BENGAZI- 4 US citizens were murdered, and president Obama's response was ""Here is what I will say, if four Americans get killed it is not optimal,"."(http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57535581/obama-to-jon-stewart-benghazi-response-not-optimal/) YEAH, I think it's far from optimal. On 9/11/12, the anniversary of the Twin Towers attack in NYC, the US Embassy in Bengazi came under attack and consulate Christopher Stephens' dead body was dragged through the streets, images if it plastered all over the Internet. The administration then had the gall, to blame the incident on an obscure YouTube video and deny that I was an act of terrorism. It has been nearly 2 months since the incident and the American people still don't have a clear answer. NOW there is evidence that not only did the administration know that the attack was going to happen, but it has been reported that they watched in real time via a drone and DID NOTHING! Leaving 4 men to die. it is also reported that 2 former Navy Seals,Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, reportedly held off the attackers for 7 hours waiting for support that would never come. This support being told to stand down 3 consecutive times.
And after all this is said and done, to add insult to injury, the VP Joe Biden, a man who is only a heartbeat away from the presidency, asks Tyron Woods' dad Durring the ceremony of the return of his son's body : " Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?" (http://cnsnews.com/news/article/biden-slain-navy-seal-s-father-did-your-son-always-have-balls-size-cue-balls)
So no, I did not vote for Mr. Obama, and I pray that our country doesn't have to endure 4 more years of him, because frankly, I don't think there will be a country left if we have to.

Well... looks like it goes to Obama. I would have been scared about the future no matter which dude won, so there was no way I was going to be cheering at the end of this election. I am relieved that it apparently isn't going to be Romney, but I'm apprehensive about Obama anyway. xd
I would have thrown a party if Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson, or Gary Johnson had won. razz

America is in trouble no matter who would have won. Romney would have destroyed what is left though. Obama at least has a chance to fix it. I just hope he does.

LethySnape Kitty, I'd tip you if I could. Great Post! Thank you... Although obviously, the outcome of the election wasn't what I was wanting... So now I am going to go into pepper mode..l and pray I'm just being paranoid. BTW... There are several petitions going right now for various states requesting peaceful secession from the nation... While it is unlikely anything will come from these petitions, I have signed in the interest of see what response it might garner, if any. Here is a general link to all of them going on ATM. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/

The problem is with the south, if one of the states secede, they break their own laws that they had to make to become state again after the civil war. The petitions will not be honored.

Several months late but I didn't vote for either one. Romney claims to be a supporter of the NRA, but he passed an assault weapons ban in Massachusetts as well as other examples of flip flopping.
I really didn't want Obama to win though. Through his administration the national debt grew more in 4 years than in all 8 years of Bush. Unemployment just keeps going up too. I don't blame it all on him entirely, but a good portion of it too. What really bothered me were the drone strikes, the NDAA, extending the Patriot Act, and his flat out saying he wanted an assault weapons ban. I don't trust an entity that robs citizens of their rights then pushes to try and remove their means of self defense.
