When writing your stories, do you sometimes imagine a 'soundtrack' to go along with it?
PostPosted: Thu Jun 28, 2012 12:15 pm

Sometimes.
Mainly it depends on the genre I'm writing for, especially Angst. It's nice to have a few songs that capture the same emotion I'm trying to put into my writing.

It would be cool to link music into the fic and have an option to shut off at your leisure. i mean they already added an image to go with the story so yeah.

That would be so cool. Maybe even sound effects to go with it. But that might be tricky since everyone reads at their own pace.

Not so much a soundtrack for me. Instead, i'll have one song that covers the theme of the fic...usually how my fics start is by me listening to a song or artist that i enjoy and if i find the words, i write the fic.

Actually, I like to use a variety of musical pieces to set the mood for my chapters, and I have found that anything by John Williams or Enya go really well. I like using classical pieces as well.

Welcome back! biggrin

I also like a variety of music. Although, if one particular story has a set theme, then I'll usually stick to music that fits that theme.

I'll make playlists that go with certain stories sometimes, mostly songs that inspire me to write. Or I'll listen to one particular song on repeat that covers a theme or mood I'm trying for.

working on putting a playlist together though right now I need to grouping like music since my playlist go jumbled up when i transferred my music from one computer to the next.

I actually have created several different soundtracks that I listen to while writing a story. I have an especially good playlist that helps when writing Lemons xp

I would be all for uploading them to share with readers but as previously pointed out it is hard to judge the timing as everyone reads at a different speed. Perhaps if you had one song per page ? - they could go on to the next page as the song ended? Eh. Too complicated.

The longer the story, the greater chance of a soundtrack. Heck, they usually start the chapters.

Mostly when I read stories I hear a certain pieces of music at certain times.
For example: During battle scenes I occasionally hear the battle music from FFVII.. For "BOSS BATTLES" I sometimes hear "Battle with the Four Fiends" or "Zeromus".

For other scenes the music I hear is random. It may be anything from:
Aleu eta(sp?) to Yakkity Sax.

Now.. When I am writing my own stories (when and if I try again razz )?
I may listen to either some CDs or my library of music on W.M.P...

Whether or not said music may help me with some scenes is uncertain. razz
