I've seen other threads like this in other places and thought we might like one here.
This is the place to post your BEST reviews that you get for your stories and brag about them to your hearts content and make us all eat ourselves with jealousy. Or, complain about your WORST reviews so that we can shower you with sympathy and reassurance.
Rules:
* Please remove the reviewer's name (even if it was an anonymous review). No one is to go from this thread to ff.n and harass the original reviewer. So, please, no name dropping.
* If the review contains profanity, you may leave it in TO A POINT! Common swears like 's**t' and 'a**' are fine. But if your reviewer has dropped the either of the F-bombs or the C-word, please censor them with asterouses (*).
* And then, of course, standard guild, forum, and Gaia rules still apply.

Here is the lame a** review I got for my digimon adventure/Saior Moon crossover:

Here is what I replied: So you don't like my pairings, so what? How dare you come across of a stereotype of your race. Besides, what you say makes no sense.

Best review for a fic I just recently finished: Quote: I LOVED the epilogue! It was just amazing! You covered all the bases and left a little mystery in how Kon would find out the full story. I have to say this is one of the best, if not the best, Clark and Conner bonding fics I've ever read. Great job!

The dumbest review I've gotten was for my DBZ one shot and it had nothing to say about the story itself, just whined that I broke from the canon pairing. I don't remember the exact wording because it was pointless and anonymous so I deleted it, but it was something like "How dare you say Chi-chi would marry someone other than Goku. No, just no." I laughed, since the summary noted that Chi-chi had moved on after Goku died the second time and the pairing was listed in the character filters, so they had fair warning. My favorite review, now that's a little harder to pin down. I got some that were really great and some that were really helpful in pointing out minor characterization slips and typos. But I think I can pick out a couple that stood out to me. Quote: I think in terms of story this is the first which actually seems to match the Canon in terms of mood. Quote: It totally felt like the series. Quote: I also enjoy how naturally the relationship has progressed. It really feels like two guys realizing their feelings for each other and slowly getting more comfortable with said feelings. Those are some of my favorites, well fragments of them anyway. The last one was written by a reviewer who admitted to being gay himself, so I took it as a huge compliment that he said it felt realistic. Especially since it was my first attempt at writing slash. Note: The middle review was for my DBZ story, the other two were for my FB story.

Aha The last one was written by a reviewer who admitted to being gay himself, so I took it as a huge compliment that he said it felt realistic. Especially since it was my first attempt at writing slash. That's awesome. biggrin
I myself am bi and have found very very few slash fics that actually depict a romantic relationship between two men. Most often what I see happening is that one of the men's personality is altered so much so that he seems more like a flat-chested chick with a d**k rather than the man he was in canon. When that happens, it just becomes a normal hetro-ship where both the partners just happens to have male bodies. That bothers me. It bothers me a great deal.
If your slash fic is more like real men, then I would love to read it.

If your slash fic is more like real men, then I would love to read it. Yeah, that sort of thing has always bothered me too, partly because it reeks of bad characterization and partly because when they over feminize one I fail to see the point in making it two guys to begin with. Sure you can read it. It's a Fruits Basket fanfic, but I feel I must warn you there is some cross dressing used as a plot device and the pairing is with an original male character. Essentially, I got tired of seeing cliched uses of certain story elements and easily fixed plot holes, so I tried to do something more with them and this is the result. Thank you. That's actually a pretty good review.
No problem it was from a Spanish reviewer my Spanish is rusty at best and I just went to a translator on bing to translate it. I do that when ever I need to translate something like that though I don't think I have had anything, but english reviews. I swett drop at how right my reviwers were about my earlier stuff. In fact I forgot to fix them so it might be awhile before I post anything new .I had post some my earlier stuff in script format. Rectifying that and doing some editing might take awhile.

Actually, the plot isn't really all that original. Its just a generic "it was all a dream" s**t-fics, but I'm putting a lot of effort into it. So its nice to have someone praise. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The fic "Kent" that she's talking about is one from season one that I got terrible writers block for and now that we're in season 2 and the sub-plot the fic was based on has been resolved I don't really feel the need to complete it. It will probably just sit there rotting in the archives, abandoned and collecting dust forever.
Worst review:
But he didn't gonk So far he's the only one to have figured it out. (Also, that's not how you spell his name.)
