Nuzlocke Rules:
Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released.
The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each screen, a screen is what you can see on your...screen, you idiots.
Release starter after first catch reaches level 5
5x of each item per shop, then the shop is considered close.
You can catch a different Pokemon if the first Pokemon you see in a screen is a duplicate.
No Legendaries.
Nicknames Pokemon.
On a black out if you have Pokemon in a box you can go retrieve them and keep playing, but once you run out of Pokemon its over.
Can catch again on a back track if the back track is demanded by the story.

Two Things + Concerning the release your starter rule, you can wait until your first caught Pokemon is level five before you release your starter. As well any fainting that occurs before this Pokemon reaches level 5 do not count. + Before you do anything, try to save your game twice. If you receive the following message: "Save Error. Please restart the backup memory." then immediately delete your save and add this file to the same folder within which VBA resides. Afterward you can restart with a proper saving mechanism.

Status report:
Made it to the route leading to Lt. Surge's town.
Level 24 Geodude
Level 16 Kadabra
Level 12 Meowth.
Kadabra died to a trainer on the route leading to Lt. Surge.
Geodude died to a Squirtle trainer on that route. Meowth as well.
No Pokemon remaining, defeat.
Gonna restart later tonight.

Status:
Finally beat Brock using KB(Beedrill).
Caught a Madonna(Jigglypuff) and DramaLama(Nidoran) on my way to Mt. Moon.
Caught a Abs(Geodude) in Mt. Moon.
Caught a Nakey (Ekans) as soon as I got to Cerulean City stocked up and went back to a patch of grass I had saved.
Put both Nakey and Madonna in the PC and then smashed my rival.
Asspain (Pikachu) got killed by the second to last of the five bridge trolls.
Failed to catch anything and mostly kicked a** until KB got killed by some random CRITICAL HIT. I think it was a freaking Zubat or something equally ridiculous.
Picked up Litterbug (Meowth) above the Daycare and left it with the babysitter. Also picked up an Radish (Oddish) on Rt 6.
Currently looking for more pokes near Digglet Cave, current team being
Bucktooth (Radicate), Abs, Radish(Gloom), Wormfood(Pidgeotoh) and DramaLama(Nidorina) all between 20-22.

There is a kid in either Misty Town or that tunnel that leads to Surge's place that will trade the female Nido for the male one.

Both killed by a Gastly at the Ghost Tower.
I have a level 15 Vulipix, a 14 Far-fetched a 6 Jiggly and a 7 Clefiary
Everything around me is 17+, I'm basically stuck. Game likely over.

You keep dying cuz you're team is too small.
When you have closer to a full team, like say 4+ Pokes and they're all round the same level then you last longer.
Not only do you have more bodies, allowing you to switch out if any of them gets to low health but it almost means loosing one or two Pokes isn't going to mean instant game over.
With the same Pokes only all of them 20 ish instead of anywhere from 6 to 30, you'd be fine.

I had intended to do that originally, but I ended up accidentally killing everything I tried to catch or it nearly killing me and forcing me to run when I had just a Rattata.
I'm gonna restart though, I'm having fun.
