There are millions of different fandoms out there. Which one sparks your creativity the most Which ones do you write for, and which ones do you avoid at all costs?

I usually stay in my favorite anime fandoms which include Bleach, Hetalia, Death Note, InuYasha, etc. I don't usually contribute to in-depth discussions about these, though. I normally stay away from fandoms that incude plays and stuff. But writing for anime fandoms definitely inspires me to write more. I even think of writing for video games, but I never get to it. Oh well, but all of this is my opinion. biggrin

The area I've written for the most is White Collar, which is a T.V. show I was extremely in love with a year or so ago sweatdrop I've also written for N.C.I.S. (another T.V. show), Yu-Gi-Oh!, V for Vendetta and Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic (a video game from about 2004).

I stick to Hetalia. Nothing else really sparks my creativity. There's just so much to be done with Hetalia.

I usuually write about D. Gray-Man. I used to write about Maximum Ride until things started becoming insanely annoying. Anyway, I tend to stray from my favorite fandoms because I don't believe my writing is worthy.

Finder Alice I tend to stray from my favorite fandoms because I don't believe my writing is worthy. I feel the exact same way for certain fandoms. Not necessarily for my favorites, but just certain ones. Like, I could never write a Star Wars fan fiction no matter how much I love it so (so long as I pretend everything BEFORE A New Hope and AFTER Vector Prime never happened!), I could never write a fic that would do the original work justice. (The 'original work' here is specifically the Original Trilogy plus the Expanded Universe up to Vector Prime but nothing after).

In case anyone hasn't noticed the new dork running around like a child that just got a new toy, bouncing from topic to topic, I mostly write Phantom of the Opera fics emotion_dowant
The main reason I write in that one though is because it's so open and it sparks so many ideas in me. I've never been able to write in certain fandoms, because I'm already content with how it ended and what happened. To me, there has to be something more for me to be able to write a fanfiction about it. But, due to me wanting to experiment a bit, I've started expanding myself. It's mostly things I'm extremely familiar with, but I'm trying : )
A bad habit of me and fanfiction though is that I've become addicted to reading badfics. I don't know why, it all started with My Immortal and I haven't been able to stop it since. emotion_facepalm I've had interventions, but they don't help at all. Because of this, while I would normally avoid the movie section of PotO (I write in the book section and the movie section is filled to the brim with OC pairings, Mary Sues, self-inserts) I go in there headfirst reading all the terrible ones I can find.
...It's a problem. emotion_bandaid
