All right, experienced some fridge logic yesterday.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FridgeLogicSo the ultimate fate of Donna is a HUGE plot point.
But... if all that Time Lord intellect in a Human head will destroy you... Why doesn't the new Human Ten that gets sent off with Rose have the same problem?
Because the Human Ten started as Timelord DNA with some human added in while Donna was human first and then got Timelord DNA
Human Ten is more Timelord than Human despite him having only one heart.
Hmm. Perhaps. Or maybe NeoTen's intellect isn't quite "Time Lord". *shrug* and for that matter, who's to say that he doesn't go through the same dilemma over on the other side? Fanfiction fodder?
You forget, NeoTen was originally Ten's hand. And I believe that his intelligence is the same as the original.
Well, no. That doesn't particularly prove anything. If the fact of starting with the hand necessarily meant there couldn't be changes then he'd have two hearts. the fact that he does means that some elements of the final project can be different in some ways. Whether or not that includes the entirety of the Time Lord mind would, it seems to me, depend entirely on the interpretation of the writer.
That said, I don't _remember_ any indecation that his intellect was in any way reduced. Although it was pretty clearly stated IIRC that his maturity/character development was downgraded a bit. (Born in war, needed to be redeemed by Rose.)
