So i did some logical thinking about generators and found that the cheapest are actually the most efficient in both land use and cost. They only cost $500, are cheap and fast to upgrade. The next highest costs 15 times as much, and produces only 3 times the power, equally upgraded. The most expensive costs 90 times as much and produces only 9 times the power! As for space, it's close with the wind generators, one square versus four, but when you get to the solar array, really, 25 times the space for only 9 times the power???
The only aspect of the solar array that is more efficient is that it only takes 4 people to run.
So if you don't care about the 6 Piastres you get for completing the facilities achievement, don't bother building anything other than "wind-driven generator".
Oh, and do upgrade them. I notice a lot of people have many generators with no upgrades...WHY???

I notice a lot of people have many generators with no upgrades...WHY??? It's only efficient, money-wise, to upgrade them when you have the maximum on your plot. You can only have 5 of the wind-driven ones on your plot. So while your theory is nice, it only works to an extent. I do agree, though, the wind-driven generators are the most efficient.

Creamy Filling oh, hmm, i didn't know there was a limit...is there a limit on anything else? The second generator (the white one using 4 spaces/squares...dont remember name)... Max is also 5 in your plot (each island). The last generator... I think have not maximun... I have seen islands having 6-7 or even more of them.
