Resort World Experts
A game of knowledge, speed and, above all, fun. Join in, try to win, gain a prize or two.
Now, I know that doesn't tell you much, so I am trying to anticipate questions I might get here:
-What is this game and how does it work?
Basically, it is a Resort World-related trivia game. I post a question and the first person to answer correctly gets a prize. There are also some prizes for winning one of the side contests. Warning: I might add a trick question once in a while. If you point this out to me, more prizes for you. -smirks-
-How many times can I play this in a day?
Well, there is a difference between playing and winning. Playing it, you can do as often as you like. However, if you've won three questions in a row, please leave at least the next two for others.
Also, even if it is not in a row, if I feel others have basically no chance anymore, such as when you win, say 13 out of 20 questions, I may request that you leave a few questions for others. This depends on a case-by-case judgement, though. If it's busy - as in, many people around - and you win over half of the asked questions, I am more likely to request such a thing than if it's only you, me and one or two others.
-Someone has already tried answering, but I'm pretty sure they're wrong. Can I answer too?
Yes. As long as I have not declared a winner, a question is open for everyone to answer, no matter how many people have already tried.
-You mentioned prizes?! :O
Yes, I mentioned prizes. Usually pretty small. Could be almost anything - from a quick headshot to colored full-body, from a small amount of gold to one item or another. Don't expect Ancient Katanas or Halos here, though. Don't expect the kind of art you would pay a lot for either. It's a small, fun game, not a full-fledged charity.
-Side contests?
Yes. Consider every question you won to be worth some kind of point. I may set up things like "first to reach 10 points gets [...]" or "everyone to reach 15 points gets [...]".
Some side-contests might be a bit different. Things like "everyone who wins one or more points between [date] and [date] gets [...]"
To check the list with everyone who won at least once and how much they won, see the second post. If you want to see if there are any side-contests going on, check the same post. =)
-How can I be sure that questions you post are Trivia Questions and not part of chattering? Will we know what prizes we get for a question?"
If I post a question, that post - or if it's part of a larger post, the part containing the question - will be in a large font and colored. It will also have a number before it.
I will add a note to it so you know in what direction you may assume the prizes to be. For example: "...question..." - ART PRIZE, or such. What exactly the prize for winning will be... well, answer correctly to find out. wink
No but really, why I don't mention beforehand? There's a good chance that I'll sometimes make it up on the whim or do a bit of stalking the winners old posts checking to see if there's anything I can help them with.
Must all posts be related to this game/Resort World in general?
No. You are welcome to chat here. I just ask that you refrain from bumping.
Is there anything I need to do so you know that I am answering a question?
Yes. Either quote the post with the question in it, or refer to the number before it. I might accept an answer if you forget to do so, but if the thread is busy, I might simply miss your post or assume it to be a reaction to something someone said. This is just to make things easier for me and to prevent confusion.
I don't want to read everything above, can you give me a summary of the Game Rules?
Sure I can.
1. If there is a question around, feel free to try and answer it.
1a. Someone already tried?
Doesn't matter, as long as I didn't proclaim a winner, everyone's still free to try.
1b. Can I still try if I've already won something today?
Yes, but if you've won three times in a row, I ask you not to try on the next two. If you've won a lot of questions in a short time, but never three in a row, I might ask you not to answer a question or two.
1c. I already tried but I was wrong. Can I try again?
Yes, but only if 24 hours have passed since your last guess and there still is no winner or if at least three (3) others have tried since your last guess.
2. How to make sure I acknowledge your try/answer.
Either quote the post with the question or put the number of the question before your answer. Also, I will acknowledge answers in small/nearly unreadable fonts, but I'd prefer it if your posts are readable.
3. What will/may disqualify you.
3a. Cheating or trying to cheat - disqualifies you for the whole game.
3b. Multiple guesses at the answer at the same time - disqualifies you for that round/question, if you do it too often, disqualifies you for the whole game.
3c. Breaking any of the thread's or game's rules. - certain rules aren't as strict as others. No cheating is, together with no breaking ToS and such, the most strict rules. The quote-or-number your answer is probably the least strict. Bumping gives you a warning.
4. What is/is not considered cheating.
4a. Trying in any way to claim victory on a question when this victory is not yours.
4b. Using resources others have no access to - in other words, searching the answer in the game itself or one of the game guides is fine, since everyone has access to it, asking your level-20 RW-contact is more shady and using scripts or such is most definitely cheating.
4c. When in doubt, don't assume something is/is not allowed - ask me!
These rules may be subject to change. If this happens, I will mention it in this thread, but it is your own responsibility to be aware of these rules. 'I didn't know' is not a proper excuse.
What are the rules of this thread?
Well, that's simple. There aren't that many.
-Don't break the Gaia ToS or Rules and Guidelines.
-Don't break this guild's rules.
-Don't bump.
-Don't come complaining to me that you don't like a prize you got - if you really don't like it, sell it, throw it away, make a newbie happy with it, I don't care, just don't come complaining about it to me. Just so that everyone knows, I won't send over absolute rubbish like Town Trash and such, unless you're questing for that and I noticed.
-Do not try to cheat/break the game rules.
Not going to tell you how exactly you can do such a thing. Let's just say that if I find out you did, it's a one-way street to my ignore list and a report to Gaia Staff.
These rules might be subject to change. If so, I will mention it within my thread. Do not exploit possible loopholes. If you are uncertain if something is or is not allowed, ask me. If you have other questions, also feel free to ask me.
