" If their lives were exotic and strange, they would likely have gladly exchanged them for something a little more plain, maybe something a little more sane. "Kendra "Kayo" OllensteinAs for general information, I guess that I'll make a list for you: I am twenty years old. I am happily descended from the Seneca and Cherokee nations. I was born June 3rd. I am a female. Naturally, I'm human.

" The things that we're concealing will never let us grow... " And so... the madness begins...Okay, seems I've held your attention long enough through the dull, obvious stuff. I think that I can talk freely now. So, about myself: Beginning with the more obvious of the less obvious things, my name: I am Kendra Ollenstein. Just with that, most can tell that Ollenstein is a German name, and therefore, I am not fully Native American. Okay, I guess that is true. My father, mostly Cherokee, was also a little German. Hence the last name. Other than that, though, I make people call me 'Kayo'. Why? I find Kendra to be a stupid name, enough said on that front. So, around second grade as I recall, I took my initials, put them together, and ended up with KO. Obviously, this sounded cool to me, so I stayed with that name. Of course, my teacher said that I couldn't sign my name with KO, and she called me Kendra if I signed it with my real name, so I decided to spell it 'Kayo'. It stuck, and now I stay Kayo. Naturally, that was a little after I met my best friend: Jessica. Jessica Wright has been my best friend through thick and thin. Usually, with me being who I am, one wouldn't expect Jess to be my friend, as she's timid and rather down-to-Earth. However, it's a fact that opposite people are often the best of friends, and I guess Jess and I are a perfect model of that. She has reddish brown hair and hazel eyes, with an almost permanent look of disbelief on her face, (at least around me) and seems to be the rational one of the two of us. Jessica is slightly shorter than me. However, when it comes to what I find to be the most amazing thing about her... when I talk to her, it's her thin, bony fingers that remind me of a five-legged spider. Actually, it's how she managed to stick with me no matter what happened. For that reason alone, I feel that Jess is amazing. ... I guess you wouldn't know about that 'opposites' thing yet hmm? Well, I'm: A rather stubborn person, to say the least. See, I seem to either have a firm belief in something or no belief at all. Because of this, I happen to get in a bunch of arguments. Naturally, I began to be rather good at arguing. I like to overcome all loopholes to my argument before I use it, and usually I win arguments unless my opponent uses physical force. Oh, did I mention that I'm really stubborn? Anyways, I also tend to be a little odd... I like to do things that most other people wouldn't... like go into the dark and creepy room? Yes! Eat the food on the dining table that I woke up at? Of course! Mess with the random squirrel-type creature that I found? Totally! And... I like to randomly burst out into poetic sentences or quotes for somewhere. I think that's all on that front. So, my location before I got here?: I was studying at University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Jess was with me. My hometown?: Nacogdoches, Texas

" The clouds were suddenly parted and for a moment I could see... " I had been waiting below the Tower, waiting for Jess when it happened. It had been a Saturday, and Jess had agreed to meet me at the tower. It was a bright, sunny day, almost not a cloud in sight. A bag of peanuts sat next to me, and a squirrel was sitting just below the bench where I was dropping peanuts for him. It was a normal Saturday, by all accounts, and nothing seemed off yet.
Anyways, I was waiting for Jess underneath the Tower... with a squirrel... and a bag of unroasted, unsalted peanuts. Yep, average Saturday. Suddenly, I saw her coming up the sidewalk to me. As the squirrel ran away, she stood in front of me. "Heya Kayo!" She said, before sitting down next to me. "What are you up to?"
Now, that was off. Jess wasn't one to ask obvious questions. I opened my mouth to question her, but I instead answered her. "Feeding squirrels, obviously." We got up, and walked along, talking. In fact, other than that first question, the girl that I spoke to seemed exactly like Jess. But then, I saw it. Her eyes weren't the colors that Jess's were. They seemed hazel, but they were actually green. She asked me what was wrong, and I just stood there, stammering. Then, suddenly, I blacked out.

And so... the people around me!
Don't quite know them yet... Nope, no one. Awesome people! No one. Jerks, aren't they? Thankfully, no one.
