A sunny day was perfect for exploring, especially for a little cub. The little leotah, Biopele, agreed with this as he sped around the grass. He wasn't really chasing anything in particular, mainly his tail and whatever movement he saw; perhaps a bug or a blade of grass. Whatever it was, it was enough to catch his attention and keep his attention to entertain him.
After some time though, his stamina wore out and he was plopped in the grass, panting heavily. Even then, not all the fight was out of him. Every now and then, as his tail would flick, he would reach out with his front paws and attempt to pin the extra appendage between the paws. Once in awhile, he would succeed, but soon enough, the little leotah got bored. With a grunt, he flopped onto his side and looked around, looking for something to do.

You choked off the surest of favors
But if you really loved me
You would've endured my world

If you could just write me out...To neverless wonder.. happy will I become
”Everything in place?”
”Yes.”
”How is our newest member?”
”A bit frazzled, but I think he’ll get used to it. Techno is under control.”
”Good.”
Two in one, they sat in the limousine, Ben and Folk. The young boy chattered tensely with the blank area in front of him, sitting cross legged, leaning forward, eyes wide with worry. After all the whispers about the girls and the hairclips… mister Carpentier just really didn’t know anymore. Something was off about those hair accessories. Further research needed to be done. What could they mean what could they mean…
In the meantime, the apparition was trying his hardest to help his anxious host. Especially since a nervous, cornered, scared Ben lead to ---
Well, anyways, this sort of banter had been going on all night. Ben would ask a question, and demand an answer. Folk would assure him. Then it would go down the list. And then from there, the same questions would begin again.
”No possible threats?”
”Not as of yet.”
This would be his third time asking that question.
”Any signs of Trinia? ”
”Not yet.”
”Felix?”
”Is inside, already taking care of his end of the deal.”
”Julia?”
”She wouldn’t come to any of these parties, and you know it.”
There was a small pause.
”… Everything in pla---”
Curtly, Folk interrupted. ”For Christ’s sake, Benjamin. Everything is FINE. Calm yourself or I will have to intervene.”
That shut Ben up in a hurry.
”I know you hate these events, but eventually you will have to come out.” All his ‘brother’ could do was nod gently. ”Who are we using tonight, in case it goes wrong.” ”Rhapsy. She’s in the seat in front of us. I figured since she’s the third oldest, it would be a good idea to have her around.” Rhapsy. Melodic Rhapsody. An acoustic guitar. At least, to most. But to the off-kilter boy, she was also something a bit… more…
His little sister. To go with his other two younger siblings, and big brother Folk.
Gently, the pale teen staggered a bit to the seat in front of him and lifted the cushions, revealing that indeed, under these limo seats, were compartments in which one could keep things. To the normal eye, only a nice, well-maintained instrument laid down in the storage unit. A lovely little acoustic guitar, looking both well maintained and well loved at the same time. Yet this was a Carpentier’s instrument, and Benjamin was staring at it. So as we should all know by now…
”Big Brothers, why cant I come out with you?”
There would be another member to his self-made family.
Upon first glance (if, of course, someone could actually SEE what this boy saw…), it would be hard to tell this was a little fourteen year old lady in the first place. Rather, Rhapsy could be mistaken for a rather pretty young boy. A pretty young boy, dressed in the usual Victorian fashion for a boy of that age. Hey. Seemed to run in the family. Steampunk and Victorian Fashions. Except for Benjamin of course, but that was a given. ”You would cause too much attention. No offence Rhapsy, but you are a bit of an attention seeker.”
Pouting, Rhapsy simply crossed her arms and nodded to the siblings, ”Fine. But I don’t see how someone like Big Brother Folk doesn’t attract attention as well.” Her ‘older brother’ looked a bit shocked, as if the question itself was all rather silly. ”Did you forget? Folk can turn invisible. No one can see Folk unless he helps me.”
Ah. The logic of someone with a few kangaroos loose in their upper paddock. But then again, in a world where teenage boys and girls could poof into magical fighters, logic like that was not all that off. It’s all a relative thing.
Gently, the young man closed the seat back down on his ‘sister’, murmuring gently to Folk. ”Are you ready to go? We have a job to do.””Have been for a while.” ”Good. What song?” ”Helena.” ”That’s good. I like that song.” ”As do I. Come on. Lets go sweep the perimeter one more time before going in.” Finally, after god knows how long, it was time for those two to get out of that limo and at least walk around.
But it seems he was to be stopped right there and then. Because no sooner than Ben put one foot out on the ground, the ever so familiar raspy call sounded out to him. ”Look! Dumbass is still in the limo… HEY! Hey Ben!” So much for not bringing any attention to himself. Oh well. Murphey’s Law just seemed to want to take OVER today, didn’t it? So let it! Ben Carpentier couldn’t give a ******** at the moment! SURE. LETS JUST LET HIM TRANSFO----
Oh my god what was Maki wearing?
PLEASE TELL ME HE IS NOT WEARING THAT.
”I’m afraid so.”
”OH UM… Maki… wow…” ”So Ben! Do I look good for my first dance! Do you think Fifi will like it?” WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE SUPPOSED TO TELL HIM?!? ”Well erm… I’m sure… she’ll think its… good.” UGH. Like anyone could fall for THAT ONE. ”Yeah yeah! I was going to go on in dude! Ya coming in, too?”
”Sorry Maki… I’m… making sure the perimeter... You… go on ahead without me…” More like “Sorry Maki. I wouldn’t be caught dead walking in with you wearing that getup that looks like the seventies had a lovechild with a sleazy used car salesman.
He could already feel the gears turning in his head, into overdrive. His heart, going into overdrive. His breathing, OVERDRIVE. This was bad. VERY bad. That was it. Ben HAD TO assure himself that Maki was going to be doing everything according to plan.
Quick as he could, to save on time and save his sanity, the young boy approached the other. ”Do not forget that this … this is still a mission and you are still part of us. Be sure to report any suspicious activities. Felix is doing his thing. You’re security.” A cell-phone was given to the Egyptian, just a regular cell phone. ”Calling is too risky. Texting is better. Our numbers are programmed in there. I’d let you have your normal phone but… this has a better keypad. Report any sort of activity that could be deemed suspicious to a member.” Security. Maki couldn’t possibly mess up security, right? No. No he couldn’t. Now it was time to walk. Walk quickly and just… GO. Go check… the perimeter. That’s right. Check the perimeter, calm himself down, pray to GOD that nothing would go wrong.
And then Maki HAD to shout it. ”YEAH THAT’S RIGHT YA MANWHORE. I’M NOT GAY. I’m not dancing with you!”WAS THAT HIS IDEA OF BEING SUBTLE?!? BY BRINGING ATTENTION ON ANOTHER GOD DAMNED PERSON!?? Well it WAS NOT WORKING. Because soon as the shiver passed over him, Ben knew that he was going to turn if something wasn’t done. All the symptoms were beginning to arise.
There was familiar aching in his limbs, especially his joint areas.
Shoes were tighter…
Face felt funny…
And from the feel of it, some of his hair had grown down to his chin by now.
s**t.
Just a walk around the perimeter. It would give him enough time to calm down, and give him a bit of time to breathe, and to ASSURE himself that there was NOTHING that could go wro--- ”Hi, Ben!”
OH. s**t.
FOLK I’M GOING TO TURN.
Benjamin Etienne Carpentier just calm down! It’s fine it’s Sophia!
NO. FOLK. I CAN FEEL IT ALREADY. I’m turning.
Did you not just hear a word I said you stupid, irrational boy? She will not notice.
HA. And what makes you so sure?
Because sorry as it is to say, Sophia is a Space Case, we’re in the dark at night, and you’re only almost halfway there. The more you calm down, the more you’ll be you and the less you’ll be me. Now stop your worrying.
As the young man was willing himself calm, the other girl came right up to the young boy and smiled that… charming. Little smile of hers. ”Oh, dear. I hope I haven’t interrupted your counting!” ”Oh no, you haven’t at all. Do not worry, Sophia.”Counting? Like I have a clue how she thinks. Just roll with it.
”Have you seen Maki? I’m not sure what time it is, but I think I’m rather late because I couldn’t find a lid… would you like a cupcake?” WELL. That was rather… nice… of her. Gosh though, could she make a convincing word salad. Or at least, boy could she NOT finish a sentence she started. ”Thank… you very much Sophia… but I’m not terribly fond of sweet foods.” Well, he could have taken it to be polite. But why take a cupcake that someone who actually enjoys these sorts of things might want? s**t. The transformation wasn’t reverting fast enough. Still some locks brushing past his cheeks, and his voice… deepened ever so slightly. That could be blamed on puberty though. Easy as that.
”Well, Mohammed had gone inside to the dance looking for you, I’m afra--- Sophia, where on EARTH did you get that hairclip? I’ve never… seen you with it before, that’s all. Didn’t seem like much of your sort of accessory, that’s all.”
More like a source of his worry was standing right in front of him, bright as day, clear as crystal.
”Would… would you mind terribly if I could see it for a moment?”
Time for some hands-on-time with this hairclip everyone was talking about.
Be true that this is no option, So with sin I condemn you Demon play, demon out!

It seems, that during his chase of mainly his tail, the little cub had found himself moving closer to a concealed leopardess without even realizing it. So much so, that by the time he had flopped into the grass, he was practically right beside her. It wasn't until she spoke that the hybrid even acknowledged her. When she did, he didn't move much, he simply tilted his head to peer up at the mostly green female. How did I miss her? It's not like she's completely green. He thought with a lazy flick of a tail.
Now that he had company, Boipele didn't have to remain flopped over, bored. Quickly, he got up onto his front paws, resting down on his haunches, sitting in front of her. Once up, he eyed her curiously. Now that he got a better look at her, he got a better understanding of why he had missed her than his initial thoughts. Besides a few floral patterns on her, the only thing that really stood out were here eyes. He couldn't complain though, that just probably made hunting for her that much easier.
His tail curled around his paws as the hybrid took in her words. "That's silly! A brain can't get dizzy." He replied to her, almost matter of factly, tilting his head questioningly at her. He then thought about it for a moment, before proceeding to shake his head in attempt to find out if that would make his brain dizzy as well.

Watching the cub adjust at her side, gathering himself in a sitting position, she snorted softly at his immediate desire to debate her wise words of advice. What was it about kids doubting their elders these days? They always seemed to think they knew everything--and then attempted to prove it. As Cradily witnessed now, arching a brow as the hybrid went about tossing his head around as if completely rabid. It was a ridiculous vision to say the least, causing the typically dry-humored leopardess to burst into a fit of laughter.
Stop that! You're going to bruise your poor little brain. She stated, lifting a paw to place atop the cub's forehead in an attempt to silence his actions. Adding after a moment. And you're making me dizzy.
Only when she was sure he wouldn't continue the action, did she dare to lift her paw, giving the little stranger an amused grin and a cocked brow. He was a little odd, but then... what cub wasn't? Querying thoughtfully. Where's your mother, little man?

His head continued to be spun about, now starting to feel an odd feeling. His eyes crossed with each other as the world around him started to spin about on its own. Perhaps the leopard was right and the brain could get dizzy? But that was just hard to understand for the cub. The hybrid still believed it was the person that got dizzy and not the brain, despite it telling him otherwise.
When the larger paw was placed on his head, stopping his actions, the odd feeling got even worse. His body wobbled a bit, as if it was trying to catch up with what his head has been doing all this time. His world continued to spin, especially the leopard. "You must be dizzy... you keep spinning around like that!"
Soon, the feeling passed, or at least, mellowed enough that he could make sense of his surroundings once again. After her paw was removed from his head, he had gotten up and shook himself off before sitting once again. The question of his mother's where-about prompted a small shrug. "I dunno... I think back home with the pride. I'm gonna be a hunter when I grow up!" He chimed proudly, puffing his chest out toward the female as if trying to impress her.

Now I'm spinning, too? Well. That can't be good. Musing to herself Cradily released the cub's head for fear that she might have been doing more harm than good. He was a cute little runt though, causing a smile to curl her maw gingerly.
After a few minutes, when the youth seemed to get over his dizziness and the conversation could continue at a far more normal pace, she watched as he took in his surroundings. Gave his body a little shake. Sat. And then finally answered a most pressing question. Just where the hell was his family? His answer, however, didn't afford much confidence. Y'don't know? Aiyah kid! Does she know where you are at least?
He seemed a little young to be wandering around on his own, but then maybe it was some new parenting technique. It wasn't as if she kept up on those sorts of things. Pursing her lips as she watched his little chest puff. Nudging it with her paw. You gotta survive long enough to be old enough to become a hunter, you know? Can't see that happening if you aren't more careful about where you wander.. or who you wander into. What if I had wanted to eat you?

"It's better now, you stopped spinning!" He exclaimed, thick tail swishing back and forth over the grass. He glanced up at the leopardess, taking in her colors and noticing how most of her resembled the grass after it rained... nice and green. The cub figured she would be a great hunter. He would have to ask questions.
As he sat with her, she questioned if his mother knew where he was at least. "Yeah, she knows. I told her that I was leaving and wouldn't be too far." He told the female, looking as if that was the silliest question one could ask. When she poked his chest with a paw, the cub toppled over some. He soon caught himself but just rolled onto the side of a hip to bring a back paw up to scratch under his chin. At her posing the possibility of her eating him, he snorted some. "If you wanted to eat me, you would have easily done so when I approached you."

Well that's a relief. She laughed softly, listening to the grass rustle with every excitable twitch of the cub's tail. Rolling onto her paws, the muscular female lifted her eyes to glance across the savannah thoughtfully before her attention was drawn back to the mutt Cradily had unintentionally come across. Not that it hadn't been a pleasant meeting thus far.
Nodding in acknowledgement. At least his mother knew he was away. Their pride must not have been far off though she couldn't help but question what sort of mother would let a cub so younger wander around on his own. It amused her that his expression seemed to clearly state that he though SHE was the crazy one. Asking such questions. Ffft. Kids. Shows how naive he was. Perhaps.. but I could also have been waiting to make sure your mother isn't near by to cause me any grief.
Crad posed, hopefully to make him a little more aware of the dangers of randomly running into strangers. Not every encounter he made would be as docile as this one. After a moment though, she thought it might be wise to reassure him. Adding teasingly. Don't worry though. I've got no appetite for cubs. Generally they tend to be all fluff and no meat.
And then, canting her head, Cradily did something she hadn't had any desire to do in months. You got a name little man..? Mine's Cradily.

Boipele watched as the female moved onto her paws and looked around. Soon enough, he followed suit, eyes glancing around their surroundings. It was now that his attention was starting to wane a bit, letting out a yawn. He looked back to the leopard and had to wonder if she would let him climb on her like his mother would. Not bothering to ask, he got up and moved toward her.
"You already seen that my mother wasn't around, otherwise you wouldn't have asked if she was around or not." He replied, reaching her side. He looked up to her, tail swaying slowly. Without any thought of consequences, he lifted a paw and began to climb up onto her back, growling playfully. At the comment about being all fluff, the hybrid snorted. "Am not! I'm strong and pure muscle!" He beamed as he just finished getting onto her back, now pawing at one of her ears. "My name?! It's Boipele. It's nice to meet you Cradily. That's a funny name you know!"

Arching a brow as the cub approached her from one side with an impish look on his face, the leopardess couldn't help but wonder just what he was up to. Standing very still with head canted over one shoulder to follow the little hybrid's ascending progress onto her back, when Boipele was finally perched precariously, she returned is snort. Pure muscle? Cht.. maybe in a few years kid. You ain't nothin' but a little sprout right now.
Carefully taking a step to gauge the cub's balance, when he didn't roll right off her Cradily began a slow, lolling stroll in the direction she thought his mother might be in, adding in an after thought. Just cause I can't see her doesn't mean she isn't around, runt! For all I know she could be hiding in the brush watching us right now.
Twitching the ear that he pawed at as if to slap away the playful gesture a wry grin crooked one corner of her mouth. Boipele, eh? Well that's kind of funny too...

He pouted at her and batted at her ear yet again when she called him a sprout. "You don't know what you're talking about!" He replied with a huff. When she started to move, the hybrid wobbled a bit, his paws slipping just slightly. He managed to keep his balance on her back though and regained his footing as she moved off in a random direction. "Stop calling me a runt! Besides, Mom was busy with my siblings when I left, so she couldn't be around."
He pawed her ear a few more times before stopping and just enjoying the ride. His nose scrunched in annoyance when she teased his name. "My name is awesome. Are all females crazy like you? I hope not."

Oh, I don't, eh? I think I know a lot more than you! With half a mind to stop short and send the little monkey on her back flying into the grass, Cradily willed herself not to act on the impulse. Luckily just the mental image was enough to amuse her again. He was a brat, but he was pretty entertaining at least. His small paws kneading into her solid back weren't the least bit bothersome, but she could have done without him pawing at her ear. It had become almost reflex now to flick each time and swat back at the paw playing with it.
Runt. Runt. Runt! Alright, so perhaps she wasn't acting her age now, but it wasn't like there was anyone around to fault her for it and teasing the cub was turning into an enjoyable way to pass the time. As well as get him back for having such a smart mouth! Snorting almost in hysteria at the question. It took Crad a few moments to gather her composure before answering on the tail of her laughter. Yes. Yes they are, you'd probably be better off staying away from them or they might try and make you kiss them!
Who cares if she scarred him for life, it's not like he was her kid!

"You're just saying that to make yourself look good." The cub said with a small snort. His thick tail flicked about as he kept his balance on the leopard's back. Every now and then his paws would slip, but never enough to fall from his perch. His eyes darted about as he looked over her head at the scenery around them as they passed by it.
He growled when she repeatedly called him a runt, glaring at her. "I'm not a runt! You're crazy! Crazy lady, crazy lady!" He 'retorted', sticking his tongue out at her. At her reply to his question about girls, he tilted his head. "Is kissing that terrible? Is my Mom that way too?" He asked, shifting so he could look over her head and down at her, seeing her from an upside-down point of view.
