The year is Z 3... Yeah, it's been three years since the first confirmed outbreak and only a year since outbreak got competly out of control. The military has been decimated by hordes of the undead, many have turned themselves. People struggle to survive day to day, find food, a safe place to rest, and defend themselves from their former friends and family. 'Camping' only works until supplies run out, and constant movement causes fatigue which leads to sluggishness and a good chance of becoming one of 'them'. This is the story of four survivors in one of the most populated, or by now one of the most infected areas of the USA, New York City.

Quote: Name: Sakura (Saku) Yongha Age: 21 Weapon: Crowbar (main), Wrench (Secondary) Bio:Sakura was born to a family of mechanics. She helped in the shop from the moment she could turn a wrench. When the outbreak finally broke out, her family managed to stay shacked up in the shop for quite some time until their supplies ran out. While out on a much needed food run her brother was bitten and they made the mistake of bringing him back.... which spelled the end for the family. Saku had the unfortunate job of destroying most of her family. Now she travels with a sachel full of tools and backpack with supplies and an all purpose crowbar on her hip. Also she's a bit of a zombie nerd. Her backpack contains a handful of notebooks documenting various things about the undead opponents as well as a well worn copy of the Zombie Survival Guide. Quote: Name:Ken Age: 24 Weapon:Guns (main), Machette (secondary) Bio: A member of a local gang and frequent customer at the local fireing range, he's never been one to back down from a challange. He's managed to survive by camping but staying on the move as well. Knowing where his group has their weapon store houses as well as several rival gang stores helps keep him well armed. Sometimes for sport he will camp out in an apartment several floors up off the street with a balconey and pick off any rambling dead that come his way. Also, he is quite the womanizer and will try to get them (and maybe a few guys) into bed.

Quote: Name: Tyler Johnson Age: 23 Weapon: BB Gun (Main), Baseball Bat (Secondary) Bio: Oh how much he owed to his parents for putting him through that decade of of boy scouts. It was probably the main factor he had survived this long...Well that, plus years of baseball and decent shooting skills.... Tyler is very much so trying his best to stay positive in this situation, no matter how ridiculously bleak it is. He's bunkered down in many areas, mainly bulk item stores and is keeping a steady lifestyle. He's holed himself up pretty well, blocking off most any entrance into the Costco that a brain-dead undead would find. Quote: Name: Tanya Niehaus Age: 22 Weapon: A Crutch (Main), Textbook (Secondary) Bio: Oh dear, if there was ever a better time to be a medical student, it was definitely now. Tanya had been studying at a local university when this whole epidemic began, and it's a miracle she hasn't been caught yet. I mean really! Very little physical ability, completely unprepared...The only reason she had lasted was trading medical services for food and water....Luckily for her, her apartment was pretty far off the ground, which meant no fighting....But how much longer could she hold out?

Day, night, doesn't matter. There is really no 'safe' time to move. You have to do what you have to do to survive. 'They' were always on the move, never resting, hunting survivors. Many people thought the more between you and them the better, but more than one person was caught by surprise by one that just happened to be behind an obstical they were trying to put between themselves and a swarm. Or hid next to a vehicle only to be pulled under by one of them.
Slowly the back door of the delivery truck opened just enough to look out from. Once she was sure the way was clear the door opened a bit further and a young woman dropped a bag on the ground and after a moment she followed. Saku was running low on supplies, most specificly her food rations. "Lets see lets see..." she muttered looking at the street sign to figure where a good place would be to head to that wasn't ransacked and wiped out. "Costco should be near by but..." it was worth a shot. Sticking to the open streets, Saku moved quickly with a crowbar in hand just in ********!" Ken yelled as he threw the empty can off the boat he was using. The gangster was completly out of food, water, and booze.... not to mention the boat was just about out of fuel as well. With a disgruntled groan the man picked up a near by pair of binoculars and looked to the shore for a place to restock and maybe refuel if he was lucky. No dock side fueling stations but... he did see the large sign for a Costcos, if anything he could get some food and more than likely fuel too. Heading to the helm he started up the little boat and motered his way to the shore tieing off once he found a suitible spot. Ken had already geared up, three clips attached to his belt, one gun at his side another hidden away on the inside of his jacket. A machette hung loosely on the opposite hip as well as a shotgun strapped across his back. The man had a dufflebag over his shoulder with a few provisions, mostly ammo, that he would use to carry what he needed back to the boat and if anything maybe he could find a cart or something to carry some extra things. Anyway he made his way to the building he saw from the river.

Tyler let his legs hang over the side of the shelf, a good 50 or so feet from the ground and completely comfortable. It had been a pretty damn good idea to make a camp at the Coscto, especially when swarms of people flocked to it for supplies. The blonde had already set up a hide out on one of the higher ledges, piles of food, clothes, a book or two and flashlights. Not gonna lie, he felt bad for the people scrambling around to get by, but at this time in the epidemic....It was every man for himself. And no doubt he was pretty good at surviving, damn boy scouts had made sure of that.
"Thanks mom, I should never have questioned you." he muttered, snickering to himself while wrapping a blanket around his shoulders. It felt like it was getting colder...Maybe he should start a fire? Or should he tough it out again...?
Tanya walked out onto her balcony and looked down, checking out the surrounding area. It seemed clear...But how much longer could she hide in her apartment complex? The attacks had slowed down in the area since most of the population had been....Changed....Which was good for her! The med-student had barely made it back home before the place had been under assault. She walked into her bedroom and plucked one of the few tissues left out of the box, wiping her eyes and then blowing her nose. So many good people had been lost, so many lives had been sacrificed to the madness that had ensued. Tanya crossed back into the main room, looking over all of the locks on her door before heading into the kitchen, checking over the supplies she had left.
"I shouldn't have passed out food...." she muttered, eyes watering at the thought. Families in the complex had come asking for medical treatment, and in that moment of weakness, Tanya had given them each bits of food and water to help them get by. But what good that had done! They'd gone out to retrieve their own supplies when...An ambush...So many had been hiding near the building. She curled up in the kitchen and cried quietly, hushing herself in case anything was close. The last thing she wanted was to go out there, but if she didn't get more food....

Quietly and quickly Saku made her way down the street, keeping an eye out for any movement. So far the coast has been clear but that could change at a moment's notice. As she reached an intersection she had to quickly retreat when she caught sight of a rambler. "Damnit...." she cautiously looked around the corner looking for any more. One, only one.... but... it could send out the call.... best bet would be just to run by quickly and lose it fast before others gather.

Tanya picked up the crutch and slung her messenger bag on, tucking in a flashlight, a few books and supplies and some water. A person could go much longer without food than the liquid, and if worst came to worst....She could survive a fast. The woman exhaled, locking the windows and door in the apartment before climbing back onto the balcony and dropping the crutch into the grass below. It landed softly, which was good, and now she could at least climb down.
"Keep it together, you can do it. Just...Run." she muttered, slinging a leg over the railing and moving her hands to get a good grip. It was a few floors, and a couple of scratches on her hands later when a much more alert Tanya felt the ground under her shoes. She picked up the crutch and held it close to her chest, running swiftly through the buildings until she hit the main street, panting softly. None so far, that was good...

Clutching the crowbar to her chest, Saku took a deep breath and looked around the corner one more time. Now or never. Saku took off running across the street while it's back was turned. Hiding on the other side of the street she kept her back to the building and caught her breath. Slowly she looked back around the corner and noticed the thing was turning her way, s**t did it see her?

Tanya froze in the street, holding the crutch with all her might. O-Oh god....It was looking this way. The woman urged her legs to move, but it was about as effective as running in quicksand. She swallowed hard, shaking, and tried stepping back. Her foot moved a little, but if she could run away as fast as her thoughts were flying, there would be no way to ever get caught. The med student held the crutch out, tense and panting heavily.

Still looking around the corner Saku was relieved that it didn't see her but... something wasn't right. Exposing herself a bit more she noticed what had the things attention. "********.... run dumbass...." she muttered watching the scene. Then came the moan. 'The Call' as Saku refered to it. Now all of them within at least a three block radius would be decending on this location for lunch. "Oh ******** ******** ********...." she took a deep breath and came out from cover and ran at the undead creature bringing her crowbar down on it's head. Pulling the weapon from the bashed in skull Saku looked up and around quickly, off in the distance she could see a few more come into view. "We gotta haul a**!" she said grabbing the girl by the wrist and pulled trying to get her legs moving ago. How did this girl survive this long if she froze up like that? "They might not be fast but they can quickly block the way..."

Tanya yelped, but with that momentum, her legs started moving rather quickly. This girl was a saint, truly she was. To risk herself to kill it and then come to her rescue! The med-student silently vowed that, if they both survived, she would worship the ground this girl walked on and help her any way she could. Odd noises like shuffling and moans seemed to echo in the area around them, and looking around, it felt like there were eyes everywhere. Like nothing was safe, everything was infected and hungry and watching them like prey.
"Where are we going?" Tanya cried, sucking in breaths to keep from blacking out from this rapid pace and the bursts of fear and anxiety.

"Somewhere safe.... I hope..." Saku muttered as she pulled the other girl along, senses on high alert. Everything seemed to be coming to life, or at least moving. God there were more than Saku expected. Finally the two of them made it to the Costco's parking lot and finally she spotted something that would be useful a cargo trailer. "Over here!" she pulled the girl with, "Up!" Saku said as she got behind and started to help hoist the girl up to the roof of the trailer.

She scrambled to get some kind of purchase, struggling desperately to pull herself up. The nurse in training threw her crutch onto the roof of the trailer before stripping off her bag and swinging it, picking up some force before slinging that onto the roof as well. Breaths were coming rapidly, tired from the sprint here and trying to climb. Right, working out would now be on her list of things to do with all her free time. Tanya cursed her thin arms, but after a few whimpers and the overwhelming fear of what was creeping closer and closer, she managed to claw her way onto the trailer. Her vision was being contaminated with those horrendous black dots, and her heart beat was quite audible, but the girl....The girl who was saving her! Tanya snagged her crutch and held it over the side, the top of it waiting and the medic ready to use her weight and what energy was left to help the person saving her.
"Grab on!" she cried, hoping her shoe had enough traction to help keep her from being pulled off.

Casting a glance back over her shoulder, Saku watched as a swarm of zombies made their way over to where the two of them were. Quickly she started to climb up the back end of the trailer finding footing on the bumper and then the latch to keep the doors shut. Finding a crutch in her face she used it to help give her the quick boost just enough to grab a hold of the roof and hoisted herself up and pretty much collapsed on the roof. After laying there for a moment she scooted away from the edge and continued to lay there catching her breath. The moans grew louder and closer, swinging around and rolling onto her stomach Saku looked over the edge. There were about a dozen or so ambling dead heading their way. "Damnit.... their to far apart for a cocktail... unless we can group them we're stuck til they decide to give up...." Saku bit her lip and moved away from the edge once again laying there under the sun. "You don't get out much do you girl?" it was clear this girl had no experiance in this zombieland. "What's your name?" she asked digging in her bag and finding a bottle of water and took a sip.

"My name is Tanya, and no...I've been in my apartment for most of the epidemic...," she grabbed her bag and slung it over her chest again,"I've never really needed to fight them." The woman pulled her knees up close and stared at her shoes, sulking at how she might have doomed them both. This poor girl didn't know what she had gotten herself pulled into when she had rescued the nurse in training. It's not like Tanya was particularly good at anything that was needed for this terrifying world. She had no fighting ability, survival skills, no experience with tools or what was going on around her. And you could only fix so many wounds! As soon as someone got infected, there was nothing she could do, and it killed her.
"I'm so sorry, I'm useless with this stuff." she mumbled into her knees.
