In a forest far far away from any human there lived three best friends: a wolf, a fox, and a cougar. They lived with their parents and other animals. The forest was a beautiful place with waterfalls and creeks and flowers everywhere. Everybody lived in good health until one day a black, massive, cloud decended from the sky.
Every animal knew it was a terrifying demon. Every animal knew it could not be stopped...except for the little fox, the little wolf, and the little cougar.
They barred their teeth at the big demon. it's red eyes glarred at them. "Move little pests! For this forest is soon to be flattened," it boomed in a big voice.
"Says who?" snapped the wolf.
"You won't get past us!" the fox snarled.
"You shall turn your ugly head and run in fear!" the cougar added.
The demon looked at them. These guys will easily be fooled, he though wickedly. "Why do you think I am the enemy? It may be the very animal you call a friend. Wolf, you think the fox is unfair for taking all the berries and sharing none." The wolf and fox were stunned and they glanced at each other, hate in their eyes.
"Cougar," the demon continued. "You think the wolf is loud and ignorant." the wolf looked at cougar, clearly hurt. The cougar avoiced her gaze.
"And fox," the demon went on still. "oh, you silly fox, you think that cougar is bossy and cold. Who says I am the wicked one?" Every animal watched with curiosity. How would this war turn out?
"You are not the friends I thought you were!" the fox shouted. "Bossy and cold? you aren't a sly fox, but a stupid one!' The cougar growled. "Thinking one like me is loud and ignorant, cougar? you are no better then fox!" And like that they turned their backs on each other forgetting their friendship. Many a time they tried to attack the demon on their own, but they were only swatted away like flies.
With his only obsticle cleared and no other animal brave enough to stand up to him the demon began destroying the forest. It set firest, killed, and uprotted everything in it's path. Some animals (including the fox, wolf, and cougar) manged to escape.
The animals sat on a ridge over looking the burning forest. their burning home. Many wept. All the animals who lived in those trees, in that dirt, in that forest, had a home no longer.
The animal friends went up to each other. "Wolf I was wrong to take those berries and share none. I would give you some...but they have burned in the fires," the fox said. "No, I am sorry for wanting what was yours." they forgave each other. "Cougar, I'm sorry I'm so loud and stupid," the wolf murmered her head low. "No, you silly one, I am sorry for thinking those thoughts." Fox looked up at cougar. "And I am sorry too for thinking that you were bossy and cold. You only try to help us cougar."
Tears rolled down their cheeks. "If only we had relized we were sorry and defeated the demon, we would still have a home," the Cougar couldn't help but sob. "We must warn others of the demon's tricks! No other forest should end up like outs in ash and pain!" the wolf howled.
So they went off to spread their story and warn animals of the black cloud demon with eyes of red. It's best to stay together in a fight then apart!
I made that in seventh grade. Heehee xD I got an extra ten points on a test for it too. It looks shorter on here then it did on paper o.o
