I think it's because you were named after the comet. It's like being named "Star", "MoonChild"(Yes I took that from the Never Ending Story), "Rain". Basically anything from nature that a person is named after is considered a hippie name.
But the thing is, alot of names have a meaning that relates back to nature or some kind of human emotion or words like "beautiful", etc.
For example my name Lauren Renay, can be considered a Hippie name if we were to brake it down and revert back to it's Latin meaning.
Lauren means "crowned with Laurels" - France.
Renay (Renee) means "reborn" - France.
And Edna means several different things.
"spirit renewed" - Israel
"Fire ". - Celtic
"Rejuvenation, pleasure; delight" - Hebrew
"Variant of Edwina, meaning wealthy friend, or rich in friendship." - England.
So looking at this, anyone can and probably has a Hippie name.
For example:
Haley = In English, the name Haley means- hero.
If I have any future children, specifically a daughter, I want to name her Rosalba which is Latin for "White Rose."
