Blah!

I haven't been on this crappy platform for a while now... But boredom won and now i'm looking for some nice discussions on an high aspiration level...
I hope my rusty english won't stand in my way wink

So, what does Black Metal stand for in your Life?
Which idiology?
Are there entities like gods? If yes which?
Life after death?
Philosophical influences on the way you see the world?
Any membership in religous / philosophical societies or churches?

So I shall make a start then:

I totally commit my life to Satan.
BUT
Not as some kind of cosmic entity or ruler of hell in the way christians and jews define Satan.
I also defy the writings of organisations like LaVeys f*****t "Church of Satan" which proclaims to stand for freedom and self-fulfillment but sets commandings and tells its members how to behave as a "true satanist".

Satan is a force that dwells in each human.
Most people are to weak to handle these powers though.
The creed of "Deus est Homo" pretty much sums it up.

Satan is every urge you feel.
Satan means total egoism, which doesn't mean one shouldn't take care of people who are close to one... Taking care of beloved ones is nothing but pure egoism... If they are down, so are you...

Denying any urge means cheating on your true self.
This includes the defiance of lust like christians teach it, but it also includes the defiance of joy like some "ultra trve"-poser black metal people do...

Satanism is pretty much the same as hedonism to me, but with a twist...
The main goal in life is still self-fulfillment through joy and pleasure but the force empowering all this is of nihilistic nature.

The human race sucks, behaving like sheep but claiming to be superior, there is no rational (!) sense in life other than spreading your genes, hoping your children will carry some more common sense in this world, being able to live as an individual, as wolves among sheep.

Well why the ******** shouldn't I live my life to the fullest? Crapping in the woods, having as much sex as possible, eating everything i want to, why should i artificially extend my life in this world full of bullshit?

Breaking the boundaries of Society wherever it limits the evolution of humans who are able to live on their own again...

Couldn't have said it better. I honestly don't follow any religion by practice, but by association, I claim the banner(s) of Asatru/Odal. I believe in what my old lineage practiced and that was avid Asatru. Not saying I take everything to heart. The way you describe Satan can be whatever God you want and that's why I got sparked into replying. Philosophy holds more meaning to me than any religion, but a certain amount of Spirituality does the mind good. Don't give a ******** what it's directed to, just don't base it on stones and paper scrawlings - base it on what feels right to you. A God doesn't need worship, other than love from you. It doesn't need a building to communicate; your subconscious works FAR better. More so than anything, you are NOT what God MADE YOU. GOD is what YOU MAKE HIM.

As for your question about memberships, I belong to a certain order, but I will not discuss openly, because quite frankly, it doesn't matter. We're not big, nor are we yearning for attention. We believe in what we believe and while we may be small in number, we're great in dedication. And no, I'm not saying that because a "cult" is "kvlt" but I can't stand the idea of being around people for the sake of being around people. I want to feel the same love I give as opposed to the same dedication. Anyone can believe, but not all can love.

One thing we hold in high reverence - and this'll sound cliche as ******** - is nature and natural selection. We organize a huge hike - 3 miles in, 3 miles back - through the woods four times a year. One per season, hehe.

And we get naked and dance around fires covered in goat blood. Haha, as sweet as that would be, we really don't, but we've been accused, which is s**t.

I enjoy this thread man, it was a kickass conversation starter.

There's so much I want to say, but no one gets on here to post anymore. Everyone moved to my Guild, and even it's not super active. I'll send you an invite for it and brotherhood.

Mh... I wouldn't know anything wrong about getting naked and dancing around fires covered in goat blood... Even though it should rather be sheep blood... It has a stronger symbolic character ;D

Good ol' Beltane celebrations wink

Well, yes and no...
I might call it the mighty lord of choclate chip ice cream, right, but barely any other man made deity stands for those attributes...
I suppose Satan is the figure, which represents this kind of self-indulgence most...

This sounds amazing, good for you!

Mh... In which extent are you in to Asatru?
Personally I don't hold those neo-pagans pretty high...
In germany we have a saying about not trying to ride a dead horse... I hope you get my point...
I respect my ancestor's believe and i am sad they were slaughtered and lost the war against christianisation, but on the other hand it is fact, that they lost... And since I'm a huge fan of evolutiontheories and the principle of "survival of the fittest" it appears that they simply weren't strong enough (despite the fact that the christians won in an unhonourable way).

Well anyways... I hope there will be a time, were there will be revenge and our fatherlands will be cleansed of all that scum, preaching nothing but guilt, bringing nothing but pain, sadness and self-deception...
Sadly we most likely won't see this anymore...

And probably this time won't come for germany, too soon because this is probably gonna be a muslim state by 2050, but that's another topic...

what i believe in is sorta odd. i view my self as my own god. i hold myself responsible for what happens in my life and praise myself when things go my way. Personally i have no problem with certain sects of satanism and Buddhism because they don't just wait for some invisible father figure to fix things for them.

Well, traditionally, Satan in LeVayaist beliefs is the inner path of Self-indulgence within yourself-- kinda like a dark conscience of subjective morality focused on hedonist tendencies.

I myself remain Deist. Reason provides truth of a creator, but not one that does not completely deserve my acknowledgments as of yet.

I reject most subjective faiths as they have a tendency to get out of hand and spurn some unnecessarily crazy, superstitious nonsense.

Not to sound offensive, but this seems more like blind arrogance with the rejection of the objective truth of cause and effect rather than a faith.

1) What does black metal stand for in your life?
To me BM is a harkening back to a time of freedom before the oppression of Christianity. I hold no affinity for the concept of Satan as anything other than an expression of rebellion, but I thoroughly enjoy the frequent references to Norse mythology and history that takes place with many BM bands. Regardless of anyone's personal beliefs, BM is about embracing the Heathen inside us all, the one who will not bow to the conformist ideals of society.

2-3) Which ideology, and any gods?
I will combine questions 2 & 3. Though I consider myself a Heathen, I wouldn't say I believe in the literal existence of any gods. I don't think Thor is out there striking Mjolnir every time I hear thunder, or that language exists because Odin hanged himself from Yggdrasil for nine days. To me all the fables from any religion are just expressions of parts of the human psyche. I believe that IF some sort of higher power exists, chances are all our guesses about the nature of "It" are completely wrong anyway.

4) Life after death?
Call me crazy, but I've had experiences with the paranormal at various times. If ghosts are real, then there must be a life after death of some kind.

5) Philosophical influences on the way you see the world?
I am mostly influenced by the mythologies of the Scandinavian countries, as I have made abundantly clear.

6) Any membership in religious/philosophical societies or churches?
No, not my thing.
