Glancing to the back of the den where Kira's fire gleamed, Esther smiled slightly. She wasn't bad, not as bad as she had tried to make herself look. Not at all. Taking her gaze once more outside to the stars, she smiled as she remembered how it looked like her fur, and padded out into the open night.
Feeling alive, the cool breeze gently running through her fur, Esther came across a small pond, backed by a ring of strong pine trees. She didn't want to drink, but just sat, staring at her reflection in the water as she made out the outline from of her figure against the matching skyline.

Elysia wandered through the forest. The sun had set hours ago and the stars shone brightly overhead. She had just woken up and decided to take a trip down to the pond where she went frequently and spent her nights. She often found herself awake and wandering through the forest more at night, than she did during the day.
Perhaps it had something to do with the moon-shaped marking that was on her hip, but she felt more energized and full of spirit at night especially when the moon was our and shining brightly.
She walked until she reached the pond. She walked to the waters edge and took a drink. Seeing her reflection in the water, she closed her eyes, wanting to block out the light shining back at her from the moon's reflection in the water. It was peaceful and very serene around her. She almost felt like she was being watched....
But nobody ever comes out here at night, she thought to herself.
She opened her eyes and lifted her head from drinking, her ears twitching as she listened around her.

Raising her head from her paws, Esther was startled to see another female at the far side of the pond, a slightly younger one than herself. She looked so bright with her light purple, green, and white colors, against the dense black of the night, but Esther found herself pausing to gaze at the beauty of the contrast.
The fact that the female was a bit younger than her, and also out, alone, at night, caught Esther's interest. Could she be lost? Esther didn't think so, but watched to make sure she was okay anyway.
When the other wolf looked up from her drink, she looked right at Esther, and Esther snapped her gaze away sheepishly. She hadn't meant to stare, but her coat was very intriguing. Taking her eyes back up, she wore a warm smile, "Hello," She called softly, easing into the word as not to be sudden with the sound, "I'm Esther."

Elysia saw another wolf across from her. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the presence of another wolf here. She had never ran into anyone at night down here. The other wolf was hard to see. She was a dark blue with stars glistening in her coat. Her paws and tail glimmered and reflected rainbow back at the night sky.
The other wolf greeted Elysia, introducing herself as Esther. Elysia decided to walk over to the other wolf to make her acquaintance.
"Hi there, Esther. Nice to meet you, I'm Elysia", she said extending her paw to the other wolf.

Tipping her head at the offered appendage, Esther soon caught on with a dorky smile and put her paw up against the others. She hadn't really been socialized much. It wasn't that she didn't want to, she was just too timid. And she still was. "Elysia..that's a pretty name," Esther commented with the flicker of a smile.
Crickets chirped for a moment of semi-awkward silence, before Esther continued with, "I don't usually see others out here...though it is a fine night, isn't it?" her light and genteel voice only complemented the serene, friendly smile on her face.

Elysia blushed as Esther complimented her name. Her smile sure was pretty!, she thought to herself. Her coat faintly glistened against the night sky and it blended together so beautifully.
As Esther spoke Elysia couldn't help but to stare at her. Her voice was so calming to her and her smile was so lovely. Elysia found herself inching closer to Esther. Something about her just pulled her in.
"Oh yes, the night is quite lovely, indeed!", Elysia agreed and smiled warmly at the other wolf. "Strange though that we have not seen each other before now. I'm around here all the time! Do you always come out at this time of night?", Elysia asked.

She wondered for a moment why Elysia had been blushing, but after taking a look at the way she usually acted, the starry wolf decided she might just be shy. Like Esther was, even though she was grown.
She noticed the other wolf staring at her. Was she saying something wrong? Her confidence was starting to dwindle at a rapid rate, when the other wolf responded enthusiastically, which made Esther's smile return.
Shuffling her feet nervously when the question was posed, Esther took her gaze to the grass beneath her paws. "No, usually, I'm -" but before she had a chance to reply, a loud splash caught her attention and startled Esther.
A frog had jumped between the pair, and landed heavily in the water, splashing the two wolves. The loud noise and flash of movement, as well as being touched by the cold water, sent a shiver up Esther's spine and she bolted back a few feet with a slight shriek.

Esther had captured Elysia's attention. She tried not to seem rude, so she played shy. Maybe that would work, yes...I hope so... she thought to herself.
Before she knew it, her attention had been redirected from Esther to a huge splash of ice cold water on her face, caused by the biggest frog she had ever seen! Elysia giggled, quite amused, but at Esther's shriek she became slightly concerned and rushed over to check on her.
"Are...you ok Esther?", Elysia asked nuzzling up against Esther to try to comfort her.

"C-c-c-COLDDD!!" Esther shivered, but returned the nuzzle gingerly, as though it could make her warm again. Letting out a big, choppy sigh with a shudder, Ester took a step back to shake out her fur. Once she was finished, she looked over and smiled at Elysia.
"I'm fine....um, Thank you." she called, sitting back on her haunches and thumping her tail a couple of times. She was really beginning to admire the color scheme of this other wolf. Plus, she was so nice!
Nodding twoards the little moon shape on her behind, Esther tipped her head, "I really like that little crescent." she commented, not sure why she was doing it.
