Personally, I have traveled 3 states to see Ritual Killers play with Soilent Green. I think close to 1,000 miles over all there and back. Oh it was cramped 4 of us in a mini hatchback. LOL We did not have the van then.

375 miles one way to LA is the farthest I've travelled but I've done it like five times. I have to travel at least 3 hours in any direction to see a show, the perks of isolation.

The farthest I went was Colorado to see a few local BM bands that don't exist anymore. I actually sold merch for 'em so it wasn't like I did it regardless, though I would've.
I sold my PS3 to go to Chicago twice; once to see the Nacthmystium "Assassins: Black Meddle" cd release show, which ******** slayed and the other to see Amon Amarth, ******** KICKED a**), Ensiferum, and The Absence(Those guys know how to play guitar well and solo incredibly).
Other than that was shows that I went to to play at with my old band CTS. Opened up for Circle Of Dead Children in Pittsburg, that was pretty crushing.

Since most festivals in germany are in northern bavaria / southern thuringia area I have to travel 250- 350 miles (one way of course) several times in the year... But it's worth it... The train rides are fun wink Take 8-10 hours of total travelling time with short-distance trains, a lot of train transfers, a crate of beer per person, an ghetto blaster and 5-10 metalheads, hungry for an awesome weekend and you already have a party razz
Most people leave the train wagon we are in... Once a passenger informed the ticket collector about us... He asked us, where we would exit the train, we told him the station... Getting out of the train, each of us pissdrunk already, we were facing 5 cops with 2 dogs... We were already afraid, they wanted to check us for drugs in our luggage... It turned out, the passengers felt threatened by our bullet belts... So it's been explosive-sniffing dogs... Then one dog started sniffing at one bag pretty intensively... The cop leading the dog already had such an satisfied grin in her face... She opened the bag and all she saw were sausages... It's been our barbecue-bag...
We had a great laugh biggrin

Sounds like a good time. Always one for a decent barbecue with a few good pints to accompany them on the way down. Hail!
