I don't know the whole story but in a recent newspaper I read it said that an 18 year old girl was kidnapped by her 3 "friends" and they took her to some cliff and beat her up and threatened to bash her head in with a rock and shove her off the cliff...
Apparently this was because she was gay...
So that made me mad... BUT the last paragraph in the article was what made me REALLY mad...
The police pretty much looked it over as "teenage bullying" though 2 out of the 3 were already 18. They were only charged with a misdemeaner and let off pretty much and they said that this was in no way a hate crime.

well let's see: kidnapping, battery, assault. nope, none of those are misdemeanors!
what the hell?! so they'll try an 8 year old as an adult in a murder trial but hey, let's protect every gay-bashing teenager in the world! (yes, they are extremely different in severity, but come on, the 17 yr old could be tried as an adult and they should all be facing actual charges) because they're standing up for the american dream and protecting our country's values! what is wrong with that court system?!
the sad thing is, i was finally getting some hope that this generation was going to be the one to put an end to the gay rights movements; that we wouldn't need to try any harder or get into any more "Prop 8" situations because society was finally becoming more open and accepting. and then i read this. sickening.

What the F*CK!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude that is not cool. This is a hate crime. She should fight that in court!!!!!!!! I'm already pissed about the fact that gay marriages are still on hold in California. God what the hell is wrong with society these days!!!

WOW!! I cant believe ppl now days! this story made me want to cry a bit. I agree w/the world not changing part. someone should do that to them ans see how they like it, or better yet stone them tell there black and blue as hell and see how they feel!!

Reminds me of that case long ago where two white men killed a black boy for flirting with a white woman... They got away with it and even wrote a book about it later (since you can't be charged with the same crime twice). Our legal system is little more than a joke....

Welcome to the real world...
Its much worse here in the Philippines, since gay people have always been discriminated here...one example of this are like parents shove their son's head in a barrel full of water just because he was gay...
god!..when I read the thread...It pissed me off...I mean Really??!.. stressed scream

This disgusts me. People today are too stupid to realize anyone in the LGBTQ (such as myself) are people too, and that's not just bullying. That's ******** wrong.

We're still minorities which means we are on the pecking order for the local cultures. Don't like it? move east. I'm a firm believer in the idea that if the vast majority of people dont want something in an area, they are entitled to that change.
