what do you think of this?
Religion was a lie some guy created to con people into paying him to make up answers to questions about the universe. You see, further back in human history lying was contributed to intellect. But later down the line, more and more people learned to lie. Our brains had to work harder to extend short term memory, where lies are stored in the brain.Thus evolving human kind in this concentrated area of our bodies. Though as time continued many people hung onto those old lies about the universe, and believe them to still be true. So in order to proceed in human evolution, you must let go of your human imagination and beliefs and embrace the mysterious and majestic universe for what it is through your senses. Participating in Metacognition is the last step towards evolving the human mind. Analyzing your every complex thought should open your mind to new levels of thought processing, but ultimately contribute to the collective evolution of humans.

Yes, people do lie, people deliberately create religions for ignoble reasons, and some people are suckers and believe it. That is the way of things, and knowing that can help you stop it; if you want.
There really is no moral compass in life or reason why anyone should work towards anything. Don't worry so much about what other people need to do to make the world better, worry more about what you need to do to make the world as you see fit. If you're a good and wise person, that will mean making it better.
