Her stomach growling, and her head low on the ground Sakura lets out a deep sigh. She swears she has seen that pointy rock close to the weathered oak tree before. It is impossible!! This must be a different rock, "Sakura never gets lost" she whispers to herself. She should have paid more attention to where she was going while trying to catch that rabbit. Stupid thing was too fast and now, looking around her, all she saw were unfamiliar dead oak trees an jagged rocks.

Eiko was just waking up from what was the most wonderful afternoon nap. He was surrounded by dead oak trees that lined the river bed. He had made himself a spot on a big flat rock that laid on the shore. He had to move the rock to underneath the shade of the willow tree when he had first found this spot. With all the dead oak trees surrounding areas, there was very little shade except the one willow tree and a few maple trees.
He liked coming here to enjoy his solitude. He had spent his life being repeatedly taken advantage of by females vying for his affections. While he was an attractive male, he also was kind, gentle, and very selfless and caring. Apparently most females saw this as a weakness, and tried taking advantage of it. He finally had enough of it, and separated himself from the pack for the most part and hung out by the river alone. Nobody really came around here because of the lack of life in the surrounding trees. Eiko saw a unique beauty in this place though, and spent every moment possible here.
His ear twitched. He heard some sort of commotion in the woods behind him and saw a rabbit zip past.

Sakura just couldn't figure out which way to go. If she couldn't find her way back soon, she would starve. All she was worried about was the food, it was not as if somebody was waiting for her back at her den. She has no family she can remember and all the males that had approached her were quite frankly, no good for her. All they wanted was to dominate her life, pretend they were better than her. She wouldn't have any of it. She'd rather live alone.
Sakura kicked a pebble away in frustation. As she was getting ready to lay down and take a nap, she heard a rustling come from a nearby bush. She was up and running even before the white, fluffy rabbit ran past her. "Damn thing is too fast!" She needed to catch him, who knew when she was going to get to eat again. She ran full speed after it. The rabbit crossed into a clearing and Sakura became momentarily blinded by the light there. The last thing she knew, she had tripped over a huge blue... thing? And fell nose first into water.

"Oooof!", came the sound from Eiko as a wolf came hurtling towards him at full speed. The other wolf tripped right over him, and landed in the water face first with quite the splash.
He went running to the other wolf, instinctively wanting to help out another wolf in need, especially females and by the looks of it this was a female wolf. As he got closer, his thoughts were confirmed. The sun shone brightly on her, her white fur reflecting the sun's light. Her beautiful pink floral pattern also showed itself brightly in the sun. She was very pretty. No time to be checking her out, Eiko thought to himself, she might need my help.
He looked at her with a concerned look on his face. "Are you ok there, Miss?"

Sakura was shivering! Her coat was all wet! Gracefully standing up she looked up to see a gigantic blue wolf staring down at her from the river bank, concern on his face. Hmm! Is that really concern I see from a male, now that's new. She thought to herself. He is a real looker too! Stop it, Sakura, this is no time for silly thoughts. Swiftly she crossed the river and jumped to safe land on his side of the bank, shaking herself to get rid of all the water. Finally, she replied to him "Yes I'm fine. You should really look where you are going you know."

"I'm sorry, Miss...I was just...laying here. I didn't see you soon enough to move out of your way," Eiko sensed that she was a somewhat arrogant female by the airiness in her response. Trying to blame him...heh....but he was a gentleman, and wasn't going to start anything with her.
"Here, would you like to sit down on this rock?", he asked motioning towards the rock he was just laying on. He noticed her shivering and figured she could use some warmth, and since they had just met, he wasn't about to offer her himself as a heater. "It's heated by the sun, and should warm you back up nicely."

No male has ever left her speechless before. Blushing a bit for her harsh words Sakura just nodded turned around and went to sit on the rock he motioned her toward.
She stole a glance at him, His coat was beautiful the design on it even more so. It made him look soft and yet very...male. A male that didn't bite back? And respectful? What?. She looked away not sure what to make of him. The sun was heaven on her coat, she was already feeling warmer. "So uh..." She said a bit stiffly "What's your name?"

"My name is Eiko. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name as well, milady?"
He wasn't quite sure what to make of her yet and dared not say anything that might offend her or cause her to leave. He kind of wanted her to stick around a little while, although he was not quite sure why. He watched her, and thought it unwise to approach her just yet, so he stretched, and laid down where he was.
He looked out over the water, wondering what was going through her mind. He had no intentions of leaving this spot, after all....he was here first, and this was his spot.

Milady?!?! Sakura thought to herself. Eiko was starting to impress her. "I'm Sakura. Nice to meet you."
Sakura stood up and stretched, finally warm again. Eiko looked like he was fond of that rock so she thought it best to take her leave of it. Her attention went back to her growling stomach. Looking around she couldn't see much that was alive in this area. Maybe Eiko would know a couple of hunting spots she could work with. She looked at Eiko and hesitated. Sakura was not used to asking for assistance. But she was so hungry!! Putting her pride aside she tried to be polite when asking, "Hey, you know any good spots around here I could find some food? I'm not familiar with the area..." Sakura looked down in shame.
