The day started out rather nice, not to warm and not to cool, just the right temperature. Gray eyes seemed to scan the area around him. It was rather early for the others to be up, so Zafar decided to take a walk away from the den. Breathing in the morning air and letting it out with a smile, the black decorated wolf made his way up the hill. The birds sang their beautiful song as his ears twitched at every sound.

Maybe he could make some new friends out of his pack; it could not hurt anything to try, right? Zafar stopped to scratch an irritating bite. With a small sigh, the male continued to climb the hill. The hill was rather nice, a large tree provided shade, and delicious berry bushes provided juicy berries, not to mention that there was a cool, crisp river that feed the one down stream, to drink from.

The smile from before never left the male, as he had finally spotted the tree along with the juicy berries that he just could not wait to taste. Nor the crisp, cool water that will help parch his thirst. After all, it was a long walk from the hill to his den.

With her crimson eyes on the ground beneath her feet, Kira sighed as she watched bugs scuttle by to avoid her big paws. The wanderer had no destination, and nowhere to return to. As she noted the several anthils that littered the riverbank, this thought depressed her slightly, and Kira let out her emotions with a snarl, as she leaped at a branch, tore off a twig, and savaged it to shreds - making it a point to step on it as she passed.

Her anger hadn't died by very much at all when she came to a hill with a large tree backing it. The sight was almost mystical, but she didn't care, as she stared up at it without any emotion. There was a sudden stirring of movement that caught her attention, the movement of another wolf.

Like a deer in headlights, she tracked him. Not exactly sure what to say or do, as she wasn't familiar anymore with the customs of others. That, and she didn't much like them. So she hunched her shoulders defensively, and backed up slowly as she had seen him approach.

Hearing a snarl along with breaking of a branch, Zafar could not help but to follow the sound. There were times where he wanted to see on what was going on, the others...well he usually lets those feelings slide. Cocking his head to the left, his gray eyes scanned about. Not that far ahead of the black wolf was another, blinking rather rapidly, the male had to take a double take. She was rather beatuiful, in one's eyes.

Looking at the cool, crisp water and then to the female; the male could not help but to smirk at himself. The water would still be there, but he was not sure if the female would be. Slowly, taking small steps towards her, the male was making his way towards the female. "Hello," he said with a smile. He sat down, not that far and not close to her either.

As the other wolf took notice of her, Kira growled at herself for lingering long enough to be spotted. Trying not to be rude, she couldn't help the scowl that had formed on her face, as she watched him get closer, however slowly. Though, Kira was grateful for the caution he took, and as she saw the extent of his markings, she blinked again, and her defensive position relaxed for a moment. She had to admit, that he was quite handsome, and his voice, even lovlier. Shaking her head with another snarl, she warned herself to be careful. Just another man that would help to ruin her life. That's all he was. She couldn't waste her time thinking about attractions. Though, her heart was eased for the moment when the male had sat down. She didn't mimick the action, but rather remained standing, every muscle in her body poised to spring away at the slightest offense, or indication of him coming closer. Not entirely sure what to do, she nodded at him, "...Hello."

He could not help but to laugh just a little at the female. Cocking his head to one side, Zafar watched the female rather closely, his gray eyes were taking her in. The markings upon her body made her stand out more than those on other females, thus they made her rather beautiful. Straighting out his head, he could not help but to shake it. True, she may be beautiful, but the male felt rather out of place for the moment.

Standing up once more, the male tilted his head just a little. "I.." Zafar blinked rapdily, since it tends to happen from time to time, the male had forgotten on what he was even going to say next. He laughed nervously, and shook his head once more. "My name's Zafar," though it was something he really wasn't going to say in the first place, the male had to think of something before he could even make a fool out of himself.

Her face hardened instantly as he laughed, and Kira was half tempted to snap out with 'What's so funny!?' but decided against it, as he seemed rather well-mannered despite that. Almost in warning, Kira's tail began to bristle very slightly as his eyes searched her.

His sudden rise would, to any other wolf, have been nothing more than an act of courtesy. However, to Kira, it set her at more unease as she took a small step back. He seemed so shy and unsure. Nervous even. All signs she recognized as another male flocking to her - which she had hated. "Kira." she replied coldly, eyes cold and calculating as they covered up the hurt they had seen in the past. Uncaring of rudeness by this point, "What did you want?" fell from her lips without thinking twice about it.

He took a step back as well as blinking rapidly. What did he ever do to make her so angry with him? "I," he what? He never faced anyone who could be so callous towards him, well Shadrach was a different story, the male made sure that the others would leave him alone. That was till he moved out of the odd den that he lives in still. "I-" Zafar had no clue what to even say to her. Did he step on some nerve? How was he to know?

Even at a young age, Zafar always ended up getting into trouble, that was until he meet up with Shadrach and the others. Even when he got into trouble he had others to help bail him out. Zafar was no fighter, far from it. True, there are times when he would step in and help out. But that was towards other animals, not wolves. He had no clue what to even do.

Taking another step back, the black wolf could not help but to bow his head. "I'm sorry if I even offened you Kira." He managed to say, the male did his best to hold back his fear. He was not going to show some strange wolf that he was afraid. All he wanted to do was to make another friend, but it looks as if it was not going to happen at all today. "Forgive me," he mumbled.

True, he may be no fighter. But Zafar was able to mask his pain very well. What was wrong having a compassionate male as a friend? Not everyone likes to have a ruffian around. Right? With a heavy sigh, the male could not help but to bow his head once more. No, he was not going to submit to her. He'd rather fight than submit to a wolf that he does not know. Stand your ground, was something that always stayed with him, even from a young age.

Kira was unphased by his sudden stammering, but rather sat down impatiently, tipping her head as she looked as him, the irritance showing plainly on her face. It is true that this was not her anticipated reaction. This male actually seemed to have something the world had long since forgot - manners, and respect...things which she herself purposely lacked.

Manners...she used to have them. It got her here. Hurt, trampled on, and all by men. She had long since lost all respect for all men, who turned out to be the very same. So this sudden act of respect was..different, and somewhat shocking for her. She had been so used to fighting away males, that she had forgotten proper greeting rituals among her own kind...

A look of confusion quickly swept the brief longing sadness from her eyes as he bowed his head, and Kira's outward demeanor, suddenly changed completely, as she responded by standing once more, and regaining the stop that she had stagged back. "It's all right. I was too quick to judge."

Kira knew that this could be a ploy, but he seemed genuine, and to want more than just someone to gawk at. She was unaware that this new sudden judgement could also be too quick, but that's just the risk that she took. Sure, inside she was kicking herself for being so forgiving..but it is how she had always had been. Sure, on the outside, she tried to be cold, but fierce as fire, but once someone got on her good side...it was a lot warmer.

The male just nodded his head. He really did not know on what to even say to her, so the black wolf merely turned around and headed towards the crisp water. He was still rather thirsty, so, without another word, began to drink just a little. Looking over his shoulder he smiled just a little. "But sill, I felt as though I had offended you."

His voice was light, but then again, he really did not know on what to say to her.

Kira, too, was at a loss for words or actions, but she had decided, that being alone, was doing her no good. She had lost proper greeting rituals, and wasn't sure if she...should have been offended at all by him. His readiness to leave her set her at ease, so she didn't feel as cold towards him as she would have otherwise. "You...I just.." she wasn't sure, though, that she wanted to trust him with her secrets, and let her walls fall back down. So she quickly built them back up saying only, "It's whatever."

Zafar could not help but to scuff at the female's statement. He could not help but to turn and face her, his gray eyes were fixed on the female before him. "Is 'whatever' something you tell others when you have nothing to say?" He could not help but to laugh as well. There was something about this female that made Zafar stare and question himself. Her actions and words reminded him of someone he once knew, but then again, something from so long ago tends to leave his mind.

Shaking his head a little, the black wolf made his way towards the berries. He had yet to eat this morning, and he was not going to deprive his stomach of nothing. With a small sigh, he looked over his shoulder. "Do you want some?" He smiled lightly at Kira as he fought the urge to scratch an annoying bite on his neck.

Kira wasn't sure waht to make of this newfound male, nor how to respond to his question. It wasn't that she had nothing to say - it was that she wasn't quite comfortable saying anything more. Giving him a sideways look, the black and red wolf wasn't quite sure what was to happen next. Sitting back on her haunches, she flicked her tail, and didn't respond to his inquiry about her statement. Though the fact that he laughed at it bewildered her even more, so she just sat to watch his movements. He was a strange one.

Since she had been wandering all day, lost in her thoughts, Kira had completely forgotten her stomach, and still was. Though when he looked at her over his shoulder, Kira couldn't help be drawn in more; he had looked specifically handsome in that pose. Chasing the thoughts away, "What...do they taste like?" Kira started, never having tasted berries before. She had relied on meat for survival, and had never taken fruit from bushes. Though she was slowly opening around him, and flickered a brief smile upon her lips.

The male could not help but to blink rather rapidly as he heard the female speak. She never had berries before? He asked himself as he turned his head to focus more on the berries than the female for the moment. "They taste rather sweet," he was a little nervous. Not that he was talking to the female that's not even in his den. No, it was more of the fact of him explaining things to others.

Zafar was never good at explaining things, and everytime that he does, he ends up stumbling over his own words. "They.." shaking his head a little, the black wolf looked over at Kira once more. "A little sweet with a small bite to them." He could not help but to smile lightly at the statement.

Kira was a little baffled that the fact she'd never had berries before would come as such a surprise to a fellow carnivore. It had just never occurred to her that she should have eaten them before. She knew that bears had tasted them - but she was not a bear, and would prefer to stay out of their way. Kira didn't have much of a sweet tooth - but she was now intriqued.

While she noticed plainly his discomfort, she hardly saw a reason for it, and waited patiently for him to find the right words. Once he did, Kira stepped forward a little bit, next to him, to smell the bush with her eyes closed. Then she sat down and tried to get some of them off by awkwardly chewing the branch, to no avail.

The black wolf could not help but to laugh on the inside. Here, was a beautiful female, had never once tasted any berries before. Cocking his head to one side, the male watched the second wolf as she tried to eat the berries. It seemed that those who were new to eating berries, had a rather difficult time eating them.

Gray eyes took in the sight before him, as a sigh seemed to escape him without even knowing. How was he to teach her on how to eat berries? Should he even try? He wanted to say something, but nothing came out. Closing his eyes, the male went back to eating the berries. He wanted to say something, he really did, but the male had no clue on what to even say.
