I've never really asked anyone outside of Gaia in real life, because people would probably think I'm an idiot, but...Do you get sick the first time or two after you've drank blood?

Well, that all depends.
Are you able to stomach the act to begin with?
Did you drink anywhere near a pint?
Are you squeamish?
Were you nervous, or afraid?
Any of those factors could play a role in whether or not you become sick. This does vary from person to person though.

well like he said it depends on the type of person. me i wasn't sick from drinking it. Sometimes though when i get too much i have an upset stomache. sweatdrop

Well, I was nervous the first time, but this is the second time I've drank...I wasn't nearly as nervous or as scared. And stomaching the act is no sweat; it doesn't bother me to think of drinking blood at all. So I'm not squeamish... Although, the blood was from a good friend of mine, so perhaps that's what upset me. ...Ah, what's a pint? sweatdrop @Necromancer: That's never good. I hate getting upset stomachs D;

No. It's just like eating food. You would only get sick if ate too much, or if you got food poisoning. Or in my case (with food) ate the wrong kind.
I cannot subsist on a non-meat diet for example. Eating too much plant material: Makes me sick.
But that's not blood, so I'm moving on.
It would really depend on your variation of vampirism. Many should be able to drink blood with no problem. Some can even drink more.
I also know of some types that can subsist on blood-only diets, drinking a pint (approx 500 mils) a day. And I know of handfuls of people who actually do this, personally.
I would say that if you are squeamish, then you are probably not a sanguinarian. That is like saying you're hungry, but food is gross so you can't eat. It just doesn't happen. And if it does, then something is psychologically wrong with that person and they might have an eating disorder.
I would also say that those who are "tea spooners" are probably not really blood vampires, but are either psi-vamps who learn to feed on blood and perhaps are able to get something out of it, or are normal people who like blood enough to make it a constant part of their diet.
So, Todays Necromancer: To say that you don't fancy blood, do you drink it but not that much. That's a dead give away that you aren't a sanguinarian.

I wasn't refering i don't fancy blood, i don't fancy upset stomaches. i love blood from the taste to just the texture of it. i drink more than a teaspoon but less than a pint a day.

ok, what if you are taking your fill the way a psi vampire does, but you still feel like a starved vampire would feel? you like the taste of blood, but have never attempted drinking it due to lack of availability or telling yourself it's absurd to do so because you are "doing just fine." Are these signs of a Sanguinarian vampire trying to get by as a psi vampire? and is this bad for a Sanguinarian to try and do?

Do you feel any worse than before you attempted the psi feed? If so, you may simply be doing it wrong, or it may indeed be bad for you. If you still feel Thirsty, then it's likely you may need to try blood. Start with a good friend who you trust for cleanliness and for keeping your vampirism secret (and willingness to help with this abnormal need, of course) or ask a meat market for their cleanest blood (say you need it for cooking, but it must be clean enough to imbibe as is, just in case). Animal is a poor substitute, but it is a sub nonetheless. Did that help?
