It was an overcast, but warm day outside. There was a slight breeze and the smell of rain in the air. It had been raining for the past few days.
Zann sat outside his den, right under a big tree that grew just outside his den. The tree was an old, very large tree and the branches hovered over the den adding the feel of seclusion to it. He loved the smell of rain, and often went for walks in the rain when it was warm enough to.
Kyara was supposed to be coming around today, as she often had. They met when she was still just a pup and he was a teen. Kyara was so little then. The day they met, she was being picked on by some older teen female wolves, who in Zann's eyes were simply jealous of the pup's already apparent beauty. He had stepped in to protect her when the other females were trying to rough her up to get her to leave. Ever since then, they had bonded as friends and were always buddying around.

Dragging herself out of her den, Kyara feared she was going to get rained on again. It had been raining for the last few days and she truly hates getting her fur wet. Realizing she was going to see Zann today, she got herself freshened up faster then she normally does. Seeing Zann is her one true enjoyment in the day. He's been there to protect her since she was a pup. Much like a brother would do of a younger sister, but with Zann it's different. He treats her with an awed respect that Kyara can't seem to put a paw on.She smiled as she remembered how he came into her life so early on. It was a painful, but fond memory, one she cherishes simply because he is part of it. They have been practically inseparable since then and she wouldn't have it any other way.Once she felt she was sufficiently woken and freshened up, Kyara took off towards Zann's den, excited to see him again.Soon, Zann's den came into view, along with him, sitting beneath the tree outside the entrance. She decided to have a little fun today. She slowed to a snail's pace and snuck around to the other side of the tree trying not to laugh, hoping the whole time that Zann won't see or hear her.

Zann decided to lay down and rest to wait for Kyara, eyes closed and ears open so he could listen in case she came. His ear twitched as he heard some rustling through the grass behind the tree. He kept his eyes closed, waiting for the right time.
He opened his eyes and quickly turned around. He pounced on Kyara, pinning her down and nuzzling her stomach with his nose, tickling her. He loved making her laugh.
As he had her pinned down, he looked at her. My how she had grown! As a pup she was beautiful, but now that she was in her later teen-hood, she was truly gorgeous. The other females really did have a reason to be envious of her, even more so that she was soon to reach an adult. He realized that his mind was wandering and he still had her pinned down. Not thinking, he licked her cheek, and then quickly let her go, realizing what he had just done. His face felt warm. He wasn't sure why he had kissed her cheek, but it felt right.
He turned around quickly and was looking for a way out of this slightly awkward situation.
"So, what do you wanna do today, Kya?" He asked, smiling trying to mask his awkwardness.

Kyara watched as Zann laid down, and once she thought it was safe she went to jump on him. Just as she was getting to pounce, Zann jumped up and pounced on her and pinned her down! She started to laugh while he nuzzled her stomach with his nose.
"Zann! Stop!" She laughed. As she laid there pinned down she studied Zann, realizing that he has definitely grown into a handsome wolf. She started to wonder why he had decided to come to her aid that fateful day, he could have very easily just ignored the situation and let her get tormented. She is very grateful to have him a friend enjoys every minute she spends with him, so she tried to push those thoughts out of her mind.
Suddenly, much to her surprise Zann licked her cheek. She laid there in shock not sure how to react. As her mind processed what happened, she realized that she didn't mind that he kissed her, she actually liked it a lot, it felt right to her. She smiled to herself, realizing how awkward Zann was going to be, but she was going to just ignore it for his benefit, and just move on with the day.
Sitting up, Kyara watched Zann struggling with the awkwardness he just caused. She started to realize that their relationship could possibly evolve to more in the future, but she wasn't going to think about that now.
Off in her own world she noticed that Zann was talking to her, and was waiting for a response. "Opps!" She said laughing, "Uh, want to just got for a walk or maybe a swim later? I have nothing to do today, I'm yours." As she said the last sentence she smiled and winked at Zann, then lunged at him and started to playfully nip at him.

"I'm yours" Is all it took for Zann to smile. He loved the sound of that coming out of her mouth. Kyara lunged at him, nipping at him. He laughed and so desperately wanted to kiss her again. She hadn't said anything, or reacted in a way that told him she hadn't liked it, but that could have been just because of how awkward he was acting, and she hadn't wanted to add to that.
"Whatever you wanna do Kya,I'm up for either," he said to her. He hadn't planned anything today besides spending time with Kyara.

Her heart swelled with emotions when she realized that saying that simple two word sentence made Zann so happy, much like a young pup who gets to go hunting with his father for the first time. Maybe there is more between us, I don't know anymore. she thought to herself. Guess we will just have to wait and see how things go.
She smiled at Zann and said "Let's go for a walk, we can talk and catch up on the last few days."
Without thinking, she licked Zann's cheek and got up to start their walk.

She kissed him! His heart started beating faster. When they had met so long ago, he never thought he would be the one lucky enough to be standing there.
He had to stop himself though. She was still just a teen, and he was an adult. Such relationships were frowned upon generally.
He smiled warmly at her, and followed her on their walk. It was still overcast, threatening rain, but it felt amazing. The forest was mostly quiet. Most others weren't usually found out and about when the skies were threatening rain. He loved it though.

She enjoyed their time together probably more then she should be because with her only being a teen. Soon that will change tho, in just a few short days she will be an adult. Then it will be time for her to see if their relationship is something that is real or just in her imagination.
"Looks like it's going to rain doesn't it? I was hoping all that was done with for now!" She said slightly upset, but more amused then anything, "I really do hate the rain sometimes."

Zann really didn't know what to say to her. He loved the rain more than sunny days most of the time, as long as it was warm.
"It's just water, Kya. If we're going swimming, you're gonna get wet anyways!", he said bumping her shoulder with his cheerfully.
They walked along a slightly used path they had worn themselves on their many trips down to the stream. There wasn't really a whole lot to do together. She ate with her family, and he went off hunting on his own when she was away. Zann just let Kya choose what they did.
He was a very laid back wolf, always had been. He was known as a bit of a daydreamer though. He was often found on rainy days, laying on his back on the ground, or a rock, staring into the sky letting the rain fall on his face. He had grown up with his mother and her new mate. His father had died when he was young. His "step-father" had never really done anything to him, but he missed his father so much, that he felt like he would be betraying him by becoming close to his mother's new mate. This led to him escaping the den to be by himself on a daily basis, just to get away.
He looked at Kyara adoringly, and seeing a flower, bent down and picked it up, placing it on top of her ear.

"I know it's just rain, but I want the sunshine. I've missed it for the last few days, that's all." She said smiling at him, and bumping his shoulder back.
As they walked along their path towards the stream, Kyara thought about her life. She didn't have any real family, she was found as a pup and taken in. Thankfully she doesn't remember anything before her new family.
She smiled at Zann and watched him pick a flower that was along the path. As he moved to put it on her ear, she lowered her head a bit for him.
She smiled at his gesture and realized that he was always too kind to her. He let her chose their activities for the day, and she decided she was going to change that, so she stopped walking and sat in the middle of the path. "You need to stop letting me pick everything we do. I am not moving from this spot until you decide." she said smiling at him, "So, Zann, what are we doing today?"
