I like jamming to hard screamo. It provides a source to eat at while I'm training. Same for rock. Screamo hits where it should, all the time, every time, and inspires me to train harder and longer.

My gym plays a lot of good classics like Nirvana, Motorhead, Metallica, etc. I personally zone out when I work out though, so I usually don't notice what's playing unless it's before or after.
I find the sound of rushing water quite comforting when swimming though.

I find that music interferes in the stillness of mind necessary for my focus, thus I typically omit it. The exception, of course, is capoeira where a novice like me needs the music to stay on rhythm, or when I'm trying to challenge my focus (in which case, bring on a random, jolting mix of songs from acid metal to classical!)

For me, rock music all the way biggrin ...Disturbed, Trapt, Skillet etc. Anything that gets that rage out on a workout is cool smile
