Hey all!
I want to thank you all for your input on what this month's guild-wide contest should be. There were a lot of great suggestions. After sitting and contemplating, I have come up with a pair of contests-so there should be something to interest EVERYONE!
Contest #1: The Uber-Fantastical Art Exchange!
Attention all of Kapow!s formidable artists! Sign up and join the Art Exchange! If you sign up, you will be given the name of a fellow artist in Kapow! and charged with the task of crafting for them a piece of your own special Avatar/Superhero art! In return, you will receive from some other artist, a piece of unique art of your own character!
Please note the following guidelines:
-Avatar edits are allowed, but using pre-existing art (i.e. copying and pasting comic book pictures into a collage) is not allowed for this contest.
-Please keep the sizes reasonable of the images, or provide a second, signature-worthy version for your recipient (500x500 pixels, under 100kb)
-Please only enter if you are sure you will be able to participate.
-Both color and black and white versions are acceptable.
Once you receive your recipient name, it is confidential until January 25, when everyone's art will be posted for judging. Do no enter if you are not comfortable having your art judged. Judging will take place via private message to me, wherin everyone in Kapow! will be invited to vote for their favorite piece of art. The winner will receive a January 2006 letter. In addition, of course, participants will get to keep the piece of art made for them!
Not into drawing? That's okay, there's a second leg of the contest!
Contest #2: The Superawesomeical Textually-based Caption Contest!
Later this month, I will post a series of panels from a well-known comic with the words removed. Your job will be to replace those balloons with captions of your own. Once again, on the 25th, voting will take place via PM and the person deemed to have done the best captioning job will take home a January letter!
Sign up for the art contest is required by January 7th. No sign up is necessary for the Caption Contest. I hope these contests get everyone excited!

You know what, I think I'll do both. Let's push my drawing/art abilities to the limit, why don't I. Plus, come on, captioning? That is a future comic-book-writer's best friend.
