World Of Alcylis: Prologue.

Water. Wind. Earth. Fire. The Four Elements. 6,000 years ago, the Elemental Gods created four races. The Water God, Ioren, created the Merfolk. The Wind Goddess, Porize, created the Avians. The Earth Goddess, Jonia, created the Pamintians and The Fire God, Fiolak, created the Emberonians. Over time, these four races gained powers over their elements. The merfolk could control water or create ice, and gain power over the weather. The Avians could control the wind and ride the skies. The Pamintians could control the ground beneath their feet and make plants grow. The Emberonians could control heat and fire. Over time, the powers grew. The Gods left a prophecy: Eight Elemental masters will one day rise to stop the forming evil within Alcylis. These masters, or warriors, are yet to be found. And some of them already know who they are... And others, their part is yet to be revealed...

Chapter 1

Our story begins deep in the ocean. In the great undersea city of Auna. Within this large city, there is a fairly big cave. Where three merfolk live. These are the heroes who will bring peace to the ocean, and stop the peril and suffering of their people.

Azareas awoke in shock. His long, brown hair flowing behind him. He looked beside him, and his love; Resollina, was peacefully asleep. Her long blonde hair half floating in mid-water. He had just had a dream. A very real vision. A vision of him, Resollina, Deius his friend from the kingdom of the Ice merfolk, and several others.

"They must be the chosen ones..." he muttered to himself.

He then saw Resollina suddenly awake. She rose, stretching her arms.

"Is everything okay, Azareas?" she asked him. Her deep, blue eyes staring at him.

He looked at her with a serious face. His sapphire eyes had a flash of astonishment in them.

"I've had another dream. One that says it all. We have to find those from our destiny;" he explained to her in a serious tone.

She nodded, understanding.

"I'll awake Deius" Azareas muttered. He swam over to where the other merman slept, and Azareas gently nudged him, his long blue tail keeping him afloat in the water. Deius awoke.

"We're leaving soon" Azareas said. Deius looked at him confusingly. His blue hair crawling out at the side of his head.

"Why?" he questioned.

"I've had another vision. I think we should go to see Isillia. She may be able to help us;" Azareas explained.

Isillia was a sorceress, and a good friend of Azareas'. Her magical skills were powerful, and she was the only magic weaver around for miles.

Azareas turned around, and Resollina was up collecting things. They were going to have to travel a small distance to get to land.

"I think we should collect things from shops if we need to. And we'll have to get there by hippocampus" Azareas explained. The city had many of these water horses. They were beautiful by nature, and were tame creatures.

"Well, let's go into the city;" Azareas said as he got his trident and put on his bracers.
Resollina collected her staff and pouch and Deius got his spear.

They swam out of the large undersea cave, and headed into the city. This was where merfolk traded many objects. Some even liked to sell human items. Some sold food, gems, clothing and many other things.

After collecting food, and some objects, Azareas summoned three Hippocamp telepathically. He could do this, because some merfolk possessed the ability to communicate with all sea life with their minds.

After a short while, three hippocampus came swimming towards the trio. Azareas smiled at the three, beautiful creatures before his eyes. They were white, with turquoise tails. There were two female, and one male. Azareas knew this because only male hippocampus had manes. The three Merpeople swam towards the hippocampus and then sat on the backs of the creatures.

The hippocampus swam forward, and they were soon heading out of the large, coral gates at Auna's entrance. The city is protected by a strong, spiritual force, because within the centre of Auna, is the heart of Water. The one of the four elemental crystals that balances Alcylis. As they exit through the gate, they hear it close behind them.

"Be careful, now. We're on the outskirts of the city. We could be attacked by Cionai at any minute;" Azareas explained in a hesitant tone.

Cionai are a vicious, wild race of what you could call "merfolk". They were very fish like. Large yellow eyes, sharp teeth and fins.

"We're moving fast!" Deius chimed happily.

"Haha. Yes we are" Resollina laughed.

"Ssh!" Azareas hissed, and the three Hippocampus halted. He pointed to a dark figure in the water, just a few metres away.

It was getting larger, because it was moving closer, and closer...
