Breaking The Skyline

In my opinion, i think the United States should pull the troops out of Iraq. We have soilders over there just so we can get oil. Yes, i know there's still the issue of terrorism but even with all the military force we have over their, suicide bombers are still getting through to the U.S. Wouldn't it be easier to find a more environmentaly friendly way of creating energy? Plus if the troops were here instead of in Iraq, wouldn't it be easier for them defend their country then if their out in the middle east getting themselves killed?!

Thats my opinion, now i want to hear yours. You can agree or disagree with me.

well,i agree with you. but you can't pull the same thing we did in the 1980's like afghan, cause then that would lead to more chaos. And there's a lot of ways to to find different types of energy, but some of those ways cost way more then oil does today. But there are agencies that were created in America to actually combat against terrorism such as homeland security, the CIA. Plus our army is actually training to a start of an army to help Iraq so when we do pull out, they can defend for themselves.

I think so far as terrorism goes we're fairly well-equipped to deal with them with a large chunk of the military gone. We need them all out in different places, anyway - like South Korea and Japan (to keep an eye on North Korea.) Still think the US army doesn't belong in the middle-east anymore. Shouldn't have been there in the first place, but eh, what can ya do.

A gradual pull out would be wiser, but a pull out is definitely in order. neutral

Since everybody's pretty much covered the whole "pulling out of Iraq is best" deal, I'll just... respond to the alternative energy thing.

Although it doesn't show, yes! America is definitely trying to find alternative ways to create energy - however, many of these alternatives don't meet important criteria. Many of them are not in constant supply/easily accessible (IE Solar, hydroelectric, etc.), easily controllable (IE Hydroelectric, etc.), completely safe for humans (Nuclear), nor are they always cost-effective (Steam, hydroelectric, etc.).

Some people do use alts. such as:
- Solar panels
- Windmills
- Dams
- Electric, solar, or hybrid cars
- Etc... I'm no scientist, people...

To be honest, going into Iraq to steal their oil IS the easiest way to get energy. It takes decades to perfect energy creation... Why waste all that time trying to find an alternative when we can just bully an obviously weaker nation to get the resources we already know is scarce but easy to use?
