so hey its been a while since ive heard any thing about the remake. does any one have any new news about launch date story etc?

Remake

On May 20, 2008, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Summit Entertainment is planning a remake of the original 1986 Highlander film. To be titled Highlander: The Reckoning, the script for the new film will be penned by writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who both worked on the Iron Man film. Peter Davis will produce the new film. Kevin McKidd is in talks to portray the title character of Connor MacLeod.[13]Justin Lin the director of Fast and Furious has signed on to direct the remake. Vinnie Jones is said to have been cast as the Kurgan. Though it has not yet been confirmed. Filming has begun in the English countryside at the ruined castle of Old Sarum.
There is still not a release date set that I've heard of anyway, I'm still in the mindset that it needs to be left along, but maybe that's just me.

I'm kinda leery of it myself, but it's possible...very very slightly...that the remake MIGHT be good. I had the same misgivings about Star Trek, and was pleasantly surprised. Then again, this is the same franchise that brought us Highlander II and The Source, so you never know...

In simple terms, no, honestly didn't know there was a remake going on till I saw this thread, I mean I heard rumors a while back, a good while back mind you, but that's it since then.

DJ Helsing i havnt heard any thing in months about the remake! have you? I read on bebo.com that a script was leaked and that judgung from that script, the film looked to be wonderful.

I haven't heard anything, I'm just popping in to say that I hope they vary the music in this thing a LOT, especially in regards to what the immortals listen to. Having been around the world for centuries, they have been exposed to lots of genres by the time of the gathering. If the director of the fast and the furious is still directing, I don't expect an intellectually flattering move like that to be made at all, or even heeded as a suggestion.
