The first Courtyard is a big open grassfield, where the first years come in to learn how to fly on brooms. But when those lessons aren't being held, it can be used to lounge around when students or professors have free time to enjoy the open air.
The Second Courtyard is almost near the entrance of Hogwarts and it has a circular fountain and neatly trimmed bushes and benches on the side to enjoy the view and streetlights to light up at night.
There are also Gargoyles decorating the area as per usual Hogwarts decour. This is a popular hang out spot for Hogwarts inhabitants.

Alex strolled out into the open courtyard, pausing for a moment to look over her shoulder, then continuing to a patch of grass shaded by a few large trees. She gazed around the open space, taking a deep breath of fresh air and speaking quietly, "I'm glad no one else is around...at least at the moment." she reached into her robes, lowering to a kneeling posistion and withdrawing an envelope, tan-ish in color. As the envelope emerged from her robes, so did a ferret from behind a tree. The animal scampered about Alex's area for a moment, then flattened itself next to her. "Well, Kodo, this could be it...maybe it finally happened." she looked around once more to be sure she was alone, and seeing no one, focused again on the envelope, preparing to open it.

kyle was sitting in a tree when she took out her letter,then he hung down from his legs "hello what do you have there? a letter i wan to see it"

Alex jumped, quickly standing and putting the letter behind her back. "I-its nothing. Bloody hell, man, you scared me."

Rena, who'd been sitting behind a tree and easily hidden by it's thick trunk, heard Kyle and Alex, and poked her head up curiously, sighing slightly. "C'mon Kyle," she laughed. "Don't pester her about it...I'm sure it's nothing." She smiled at the quidditch captain, but faltered a little, following up her defense with, "Right?"

Alex smiled hesitantly. "Yeah...its nothing." she returned the envelope to her robes, glaring at her ferret companion for not alerting her to their presence.

Rena frowned, and sighed, forgetting that though she sllunk around and heard the most random conversations, she didn't attract enough attention to make sure people recognised her. "My names Rena. I'm in Slytherin with you, hell, the same quidditch team..." she said in slight annoyance, though more with herself than Kyle. "We also have potions together. I was the one trying not to laugh when you blew your cauldron up." That was all she had to say to him, before turning to Alex, and raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure it's nothing?" she asked concernedly.

'oh well i did try my best to make that explosion rena anyways if you dont want to show me i guess i'll leave you alone about it" kyle climbs back up the tree then he lays on one of the branches and goes to sleep

"Family stuff..." Alex said in a low voice. "Hopefully nothing important. And Kyle...Kyle is a ditz." she smiled up at him. "He would forget his own name were it not on the rosters of all of his teachers."

"Hey!" kyle yelled but then he fell of the branch to land face flat on the ground "owww"

"This is true," Rena snorted to Alex's comment, and started laughing when Kyle fell out of the tree, but was nice enough to walk over and offer to help him up. "Whatever it is, Alex, I hope it's alright..."

Alex sighed, part of her worried, and part hopeful. She was hiding something from them, and though this would normally bother her, she wasn't sure how they would react of they knew. "Feh, don't worry about it...or Kyle." she looked at him and smiled. "As Headmater Kurama says, Slytherin boys have hard heads."
