hey guys,
I'm ex Navy and thought I would be prepared for my son to be underway.
I was wrong, throughout his bootcamp, and nuke school I could talk to him. I have only heard from him once in several months, for obvious reasons.
But I miss him. crying
I'm very proud of him, he's following in my and his dad's footsteps. biggrin
He has 2 uncles that served on subs. One of them gave him his pewter dolphins. My son can't wear them yet, he has to qualify before he can wear them.
Did I say I miss him yet? I can sen him emails, but he can't reply. So at least he can mail from home.
Any other submariners out there?

Can't say I've been on a sub... yet, however, I can imagine the hardships it must be not being able to contact your son like that. My mother and I are on opposite sides of the US, and the time difference is killer when trying to make time to talk. But, I'm sure it was hard back when you and your husband were in. Stay strong! Maybe not "Army Strong" but who cares about that? Just kidding biggrin .

awwh I'm sorry
I'm not in the service but my mom and dad are and my mom is in Chicago and i have to stay with my grandparents cause my dad is in training to go to Iraq and is also in San Diego an i haven't seen him.... in 6 months
so i kinda know how you feel on missing a family member close to your heart
