No Leaf Clover Rank: One Antagonist: Unlucky NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE
Ashie felt lucky as she drove down the highway, wind in her face and hair flying loose from their pigtails, in a snazzy baby blue sports car with the top down. Giggling aloud, she tried an experimental "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!" that was promptly whipped away by the wind. There were few cars on this particular stretch of the highway, and she stepped on the gas as much as she could as she sped towards their meeting spot.
It appeared that the mission required going places, and so Axie had allowed her to drive all the way over, in her beloved Baby - a brand new Nissan GT-R - and she was totally enjoying the ride.
Galena, IL. was a little mining town turned tourist town, and the inns were homey, if nothing else. She, and the pair on this particular mission, were staying there, though the meeting point was set to some place in the middle of nowhere, about five kilometers to the south.
Pulling to a stop in front of the gas station that was their designated meeting spot, Ashie climbed out, looking left and right for the pair she was supposed to meet.

Driving to the meeting place was not a problem, Wendell was old enough even though local curfews could have caused him some problems. Could have if it weren't for the kind of car he drove, no one really stopped him nor did they want to. When he turned 16 his parents gave him a car that was kept in top condition, barely been driving, and had plenty of room for cargo. In other words they gave him one of their hearses. Wendell actually loved driving it, it was so goth and emo at the same time.
Also Wendell had personalized it. All over the outside were symbols of death; a skeleton, an hour glass, cobwebs, and even some bats. It was almost like a Halloween car. The curtains covering the windows in the back were old Halloween table clothes. But the coolest part was the back. Where the body normally sat had been converted into a room of sorts. A mattress was held onto the floor with some boards he had drilled into the floor, a mini tv with VCR was hooked up, it even had a small cupboard for snacks and juice boxes. He was even able to fit one more small cupboard for some clothing to be stored. All he needed was a toliet and he had a full traveling home.
Annabelle was currently taking a snooze in the back, saving her energy for their first mission. When they got it she had been over the moon, barely talking about anything else. The first couple of hours driving had been her describing all their battles like some sort of comic book battle of the ages until she finally got tired enough to start taking a nap.
Wendell finally found the right place, seeing their guild in their first mission already parked there. He hoped they weren't late. He slowly pulled the hearse up to park near her. Getting out he banged on the glass of the back window, "Rise and shine Death Girl. Time for work." Yeah it was kinda morbid to see that.
Annabelle murmbled a bit at the sudden noise but then she heard the second sentence. WORK TIME! The back of the hearse burst open and the reaper dressed girl climbed out, "Alright! Lets get this party started!"

Leaning against the hood of her car, Ashie smiled and waved at the pair as they arrived at the stop. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeya!" she called, gesturing enthusiastically for them to join her, "now that you guys are here, let's start! By the way, I'm Ashie!"
She waited a beat, then pushed herself away from the car to head out of the station. The mission information had stated that their target seemed to attack most frequently in the areas around here, so this was where they were starting. "Hmm..." Ashie's blue eyes were wide as she glanced around the area, looking left, and then right, before giggling and turning to the two. The gas station was really in the middle of nowhere, with overgrown grassy plains on either side of the highway. There beginnings of a small wood could be seen a few hundred meters behind the gas station, but not much else. "I don't know where to start!"
Just then, a scream cut through the noise of cars coming and going in the background - cutting off abruptly into the stunned silence. It seemed to come from behind the gas station, high-pitched as though belonging to a girl. Strangely enough, nobody else seemed to have heard it, as they were all in their cars, or inside the station. Ashie paused in her giggling to c**k her head, giving the pair a mildly confused look as she asked, "What was that?"

Wendell looked the female over that was to be their accompaniment and knew she and Anna would get alone quite wonderfully. He followed her eyes as he glanced over the area, taking in details that he might need for later. Wendell had gone over the assignment several times, making note of a few things and coming up with a few plans for the 'just in case' moments.
Annabelle was nearly bouncing with excitement, "Hiya Ashie! I'm Anna and this is Wendell! This is so exciting. Our FIRST mission!!" She clapped her hands a bit and also looked around, just as confused as the female. She didn't exactly know what to look for, even having read the file on their assignment. She was about to speak when the scream pierce through the noise of the gas station. She turned her head to the direction then looked to her Technician for the next move. Despite being the leader socially Anna looked to when during these times.
"It was a scream, high pitched. Young male or female. Only way to cut it off that quick is large object in mouth or direct attack to the larynx. I'm going to take a look. Anna, stay behind me," the tech spoke with little fear in his voice, more like curiosity. As with most techs he changed from the sullen emo/goth boy to a more serious individual. He moved slowly, a relaxed gait, and headed around the building. He looked like a typical teenager, his hands stuck in his pockets and a board expression on his face as he made his way towards the direction of the sound.
Anna nodded and followed her tech at a safe distance. Safe enough that he could move out of the way of an attack and close enough where she could jump in and become his weapon. They had actually been practicing this move on the training grounds. When fighting Wendell was rather unnerving, sometimes even more than her, because he wasn't afraid of death. She had seen it in his eyes once when he was nearly hit by a car. She had been terrified but when had kept a straight face the whole time. But now they were on a mission, tracking a dangerous evil soul. She was depending on him to keep them both alive.

Ashie followed the pair as they went to investigate, expression still cheery but with a hint of caution around the eyes. She couldn't be sure, but instinct was telling her that they were near their quarry, and that the scream meant another life had already been taken.
She gave a vaguely indifferent shrug as she realized the two had already mostly forgotten her, though Axie's words rang through her head, and she followed regardless - just in case.
Around the corner, was a mess. Blood splattered everywhere on the tall, dry grass, staining it an red-brownish color and heading in a trail straight to two figures standing out, utterly visible against the flat field. One was bent over the other, motionless, while the second figure was twitching, in the last shudders of death.
Ashie's voice was nothing but a whisper as she caught up to the pair, positioning herself for the best view of the scene. "Looks like we've just found Unlucky."

"Seems we have," he spoke ever so softly. But there was something else in his voice, another emotion he rarely showed. It was disdain, disdain for someone who actually thought death was unlucky. Death was not unlucky, it was inevitable. Whether you died today or died fifty years from now death comes to all in its own time. There was nothing unlucky about it; death didn't gamble, you didn't escape it, and it was never too soon. Death was merely the next unstoppable step and to be so blind to that kind of pissed Wendell off.
Anna gasped slightly at the sight. She had seen plenty of dead bodies being the daughter of a graveyard director but they had always been prepared for the funeral; they looked just like someone fell asleep in a coffin. She had never seen wounds and blood like Wendell had in body preparation at the funeral home. "What....what do we do?"
"We show him what death really means. That's our job. Death is who we are and how we have been raised. You ready?" he looked to his Weapon and held his hand out to her.
She smiled and took his hand in hers, a sudden light burning in her eyes as she took strength from Wendell. "Yes, we are the perfect ones to show him that."
They both began to walk forward, Anna forming into her Scythe form as if she were a shadow transforming. It wasn't a bright flash or anything, merely a darkening of her body then morphing. The metal felt good in his hands as he approached the figure silently but with a determined look.

The taller figure straightened at the sounds of voices and approach, though it seemed reluctant to let go of the corpse as it did so. Finally, reluctantly, it set the body down to turn and fully face the approaching pair, metal flashing in its hands as its face was finally turned enough to reveal a male.
Indecision flickered quickly over his face, as he realized there was more than one potential victim, but it switched to determination as he registered that the two were merely teenagers.
"Your luck has turned, now..."
There was no other warning as the figure lunged forward, seemingly intent on attack. Unlucky paused once, startlement flickering across his face as the girl flashed to WEAPON form, but once his lunge had begun, momentum continued to carry him forward.
Ashie's eyes widened at the move, though she made no other movement as Unlucky approached. Now that it was unnecessary, her cheery facade was put on hold as she watched intently to see what would happen next. She would be there, of course, if this pair failed to react, but considering the readiness and disdain she'd heard in Wendells's voice, she was sure something was going to happen.
PLEASE ROLL A 10-SIDED DICE TO DETERMINE THE SUCCESS/FAILURE OF YOUR ATTACK. 2 THROUGH 10 IS SUCCESS. 1 IS FAIL. GOOD LUCK!

"Luck has nothing to do with it..." his own voice responded to the man as he sprung towards them. Wendell's expression never changed, he showed no fear. It was very freaky, especially when he smiled as he ran toward Unlucky with Anna in his hands. This was going to be good.
He was in a full sprint right back at the man, the blade of the scythe barely above the ground and slicing a swathe through the grass. His black hair spread out behind him, the steel of his weapon was warm as Anna's own excitement built. Their first battle and both were pumped on adrenaline. Anna used it keep her form good and her blade sharp.
Wendell only looked kinda lanky but he was extremely quick. Just as he got within arm's reach Wendell fell into a perfect baseball slide between the man's legs, dragging the blade behind him. One good thing about the crescent scythe was a double-sided blade, it caught the man's ankles right in the front to trip him.
As the man fell Wendell pulled the blade back, swung it around. The crescent of the sharp metal gleamed in the sunlight before he brought the outward curve of blade straight down onto the back of the man's neck.

"Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!" Ashie's voice rang loud and clear over the grass plain as Unlucky gurgled, blood spraying everywhere (again), before finally expelling his last breath in a series of bubbles from his throat.
And then the body disappeared.

Clapping her hands in excitement, Ashie skipped over to where the pair now stood, grinning cheerfully as she gestured towards the soul. "Now, Annabelle, you eat that red squishy soul, and we'll be done! You guys did amaaaaaaaazing! Such a perfect attack and everything, I'm so happy for you two!"
Striding over to the remaining body in the grass, Ashie seemed not to heed the blood that stained her white sneakers as she paused to consider the pair. "After that, you guys can go!" She giggled, and if she thought her happiness seemed slightly at odds with her surroundings, she gave no indication of it, "I'll just clean up this mess, and see you guys back at SHIBUSEN!"

Wendell merely watched as Unlucky took his last breath, wiping blood off Anna's blade. He was glad that idea had worked, after all the man was far stronger than the skinny teen so an all out fight would have proved useless. He felt Anna tremble and held her until she transformed back. He looked to see if she was ok, after all it was her first kill. "How are you Annabelle?"
"That. Was. AWESOME! Wow Wendell I didn't even think to do that! I guess that's why you are the tech and I'm the weapon! Oh speak of, its time for soul goodness!" she giggled as she reached out and grabbed the soul. She took two cookies from her pocket, smacked the soul between them, and proceeded to munch down until the soul was devoured.
"That.....was kind of strange. Even more me, " Wendell couldn't help but watch his Weapon consume a soul and gain the power. It was the one part of their job that you really couldn't practice. But Anna didn't seem to mind it.
"Souls taste weird. Good thing I had cookies!"
"You ready to go?"
"Yeah! I'm kinda tired. That was a rush as it's starting to wear off now."
"Ok, you can crash in the back again. There's juice boxes in the cupboard," Wendell guided his weapon back to the hearse and helped her up into the back. He closed the door and went to the front. Glancing back at the small town he smiled a bit before getting in and driving off in the Halloween hearse.
