heart [This writing was inspired by Friz's rant...]
He ran. The Wolves were after him. The squeak originating from his second rate shoes reverberated off the hollow walls of the empty halls, giving his position away. He ran.
He rounded the corner turning into the stairs... to be met with two shiny black soles to the face. His world stopped.
The solid floor colliding with the back of his skull woke him from the daze of surprise. "I told you not to run, Cellic. You know how Will likes to chase you." Lucas, the more logical of The Twins declared. Lucas speaking meant that Will had been the one that used his face as a doormat, something he should've already known. He knew this was what Will lived for: the pain and torment of others. While Lucas stood by and allowed it, he never interfered with Will's rituals.
"Now I'm going to enjoy eating my prey." Will cackled mercilessly as his fists landed repetitiously against Cellic's face. Left, right, left, right. Like clockwork. Cellic noticed through hot tears and sweat the red substance clinging to Will's fist: his own lifeblood. The knock to his head left him numb above the neck. Will continued to cackle all the way. He had no need to keep his voice down: nobody else was home. Everyone, every parentless, homeless, and penniless adolescent had been carted away by The Elders on a spontaneous day trip to some place he'd never heard of. The only people left were... Him, The Twins and...
"Will." the voice boomed. "Lucas." it came again. Will hissed. Lucas sighed.
"Fun's over," Lucas announced, whistling to Will, "come on, Boy." Will growled again. Lucas snapped his fingers to signify his seriousness. "Now."
Will disappeared from Cellic's line of sight as a dark form loomed over him. An angel? God? "It'll be alright, Cellic. I'll take care of you."
Cellic sighed. It was Ferrin. His savior.
As he was being scooped up and away to an unknown destination, he slipped into unconsciousness.

scream Prepare your opticals for Part 2!! sweatdrop Part 1's better, in my opinion... scream More to come!! Faintly, the word came. "Cellic..." The sound had no meaning, though the voice was familiar. Feminine.
It belonged to his mother. Though long dead, the audible presence warmed his being to a point of near perspiration. He felt new breath being breathed into his lungs. He felt the presence of an angel. He... was alive.
"Cellic." the sound intensified. "Cellic. Cellic!!"
His eyes burst open. Black. He was lying down on an unknown surface, though comfortable. Most likely, a bed. The DeMontier Manor, or Orphanage, depening on the individual, contained slews of rooms, public and otherwise.
"Good. You're alive." the shadows whispered to him in rhythmic sequence. "Thought they'd done you in for good this time." It soon became clear that the voice hiding inside the darkness was Ferrin's.
"Where..." Cellic tried, but Ferrin shushed him. "Safe. With me, you're safe. They won't harm you in my presence."
"Why..." he tried again, but his plea was only met with another shoosh.
"Try this." Ferrin whispered as the shadows creeped toward Cellic, hand outstretched, unknown gift looming in his eyesight. A grey whisp emenated from the object being presented to him. An orange coal burned at the end, pointing towards Ferrin's vague position. Cellic sniffed the air, aware of a strangely satisfying herb being burned. Cellic remembered...
Ferrin smoked this wherever he went. Every moment he recollected Ferrin's presence, this smell accompanied him. He had a natural aroma of scented weeds and Loomer Tree; a beautiful mix of smells. He wanted that.
"Well?" Ferrin asked, breaking Cellic's recollection sequence. "Don't let it burn out. We waste nothing, you and I, yeah?"
"Right." Cellic whispered, throat scratchy. "Will this..."
"It will help. Rid you of that nasty headache you'll have in about a minute or so. Go on." Ferrin ushered his urgency with his hands, giddy. Though Ferrin was just as dark as the room surrounding them, Cellic could tell he was wearing a smile.
He took the weed from Ferrin's hand, a concoction of chocolate minglings and intertwining colors, ranging only slighty in the exchange. Cellic placed the Loomer wrapping between his lips and drew. The smoke entered his mouth, down through his pipes and dumped into his lungs. As he held his breath, as he'd seen Ferrin do several times before, he felt the smoke expand inside his chest. Before he could exhale, the smoke escaped from his mouth and nose, causing him to cough and sneeze wildly, as though mad from inhalation of flying pollens and dews. He continued his coughing fit for several minutes, eyes watering and chest aflame before a soothing feeling crept along his skin, numbing him in the slightest. His mind felt... lightened, unburdened. His thoughts came and went and disappeared before he could interpret their meaning. He felt the presence of Ferrin. He pondered his mind and the inner workings of such a magnificant being. He wondered what time of day, or night, it was outside. He now knew why Ferrin was always in a cheery mood. He put the weed to his lips and drew again.
Ferrin sat silently in the shadows and enjoyed watching his protege with great amusement. Pride swelled within Ferrin's veins. He made this. This was his to call his own. He had to keep him alive, for he had plans for this young ignorant. This adolescent was the hope for his world. The faith that kept the people believing. The cancer that would eventually kill the ignorance of people. He was proud of who Cellic would become. Ferrin was honored to be the one... to kill him.
