I am a female, but I don't use make up often - primarily because I have no idea how to apply any of it. Other then mascara. I got that figured out well enough I think. Maybe? Guh.
My work gal pal Alicia recently started her own Makeup talk/tutorial videos on youtube and they give me hope. Anyone know of any others, or have tips? I'm not going to wear makeup every day, but I think maybe at the age of 22 I should really learn by now. sweatdrop
Oh! And Alicia's videos can be found here. She is so lovely! I buy her kids comics; my secret goal is to breed them into geekdom. So far, it is working.

God I am such a makeup whore. I don't use tutorials much personally, but I've found Michelle Phan's videos to be pretty great, and she's got some fun ideas. Most of the stuff of hers I like are the more elaborate or party-type styles so I'm not sure how much use they'd be to you, but I haven't been through all her uploads. There might be something useful or even just some general tips you can pick up.
Only real tip I have is that primer is your best friend if you're fond of colorful (or also loose) eyeshadows.
... Can I come to Hawaii and do your makeup? I just bought a ton of new stuff D:
