My favorite starter, in the evolution that you get it, is Treecko. I love his attitude and how he stands up with a twig in his mouth like he is too cool to care about the world lol.
If given a choice though I would pick Charmander every time. Charizard is strong, fast, learns a WIDE array of attacks and most importantly it could fly me around on it's back. It's always nice to have a pokemon that can do that.

Charmander all the way. First, Charmander is adorable in itself. Then, Charizard is like OMFGWTF?!
Although, I also really love Cyndaquil because all the evolutions look AWESOME and Torchic is great because Blaziken is the strongest starter pokemon when evolved. ^_^

It'd go with Pikachu.... he was a starter in yellow so he counts.
Strongest Pikachu ever was in Yellow. he could learn surf to counter his weakness plus his stats were awesome.

Yay for Pikachu! You know what's funny though? While I love Pikachu more than Charmander, I would still choose Charmander. rofl I mean, Pikachu is freakin' awesome...but I think I would only want to have a Pikachu if I had something else to rely on. I dunno...it just always seems like the first gym leader is rock.

Pikachu would still be okay against rock type pokemon like nosepass and cranidos. it would be the part ground pokemon that would be annoying.

Exactly, on the old RP my Shinx defeated Roark´s Cranidos with Charge then Spark, wich being powered by Charge was able to KO cranidos.
My favorite starter is probably Turtwig, but I also like Charmander and Treecko.

While that's true, most of the gyms that have rock pokemon are also ground. *shrug* Like Brock for example. rofl
Although I have always used Pikachu against Brock...or a Butterfree. rofl
It used to be Pikachu though. I used to go to all the trouble of getting him to around level 20 so that I could just Quick Attack Brock to his DOOM!!!

yes they are but some are only Rock wich is good since rock is normal effective

When Gold/Silver came out, i traded my Pikachu to it and taught it Iron tail. Now it was a good attack against Rock and normal damage to Ground biggrin The only better Pikachu that this would be the one that knows surf.

I really love having my Pikachu know Body Slam.
It just seems so funny...I mean...how does this little mouse smack you with its body hard enough to paralyze you? xd

I like all the starters + evolutions, exept Chimchar, The generation 4 fire starter just looked to Kornish.
But they all have weaknesses, like Sceptile is fast, but when outspeeded he is screwed or Torterra, slow but has an high amount of defense and life combined with his attack and the fact that it learness Earthquake when evolved.
So well they are all strong and all weak

Hahaha a Surfing, body slamming, pikachu with iron tail. All it needs now is to learn Psychic lol. That would make it a Psychu. Or better yet a Pwnchu! lol.
Yes I totally agree with you Cerebus. I hate chimchar. It is ugly, weird, uggh it is like a cheap manky rip off of Blasiken lol.
