The Sohma are a rather large and powerful family, blessed with many members and of an attractive complexion who hold positions ranging from your everyday doctor to CEOs of companies. However, they hold a family secret. Thirteen members of this reputed family, including the Head, are under the influence of an ancient curse in which they are possessed by the spirits of the Chinese Zodiac. When they are hugged by an individual of the opposite gender or become weak through emotional or physical stress, they transform into the animal form of their Zodiac spirit. Under the idea that they will be shunned from the rest of society, the Sohmas kept word of this curse within the walls of the Main House, the members suffering from the drift between them and "normal" people in silence.

Tohru Honda, a high school student, begins living with three of these possessed members due to strenuous conditions in which she has no place to stay and exchanges house work for a roof over her head. Inevitably she stumbles upon the curse, discovering that even her own classmates of the Sohma family are affected as they live in a society where they do not fit in. Making it her personal mission to break the curse, Honda goes through hardships and struggles to free her friends. Thanks to her efforts, the thirteen members were freed, though not a record of it exists today.

Decades have passed since, and the spirits of the animals have awoken once again, existing within the blood of the members of the Sohma Family. These cursed souls are now experiencing the pain and misery as did the last members of the Zodiac. What can be done to free them, now?

¤ Everything I say, goes, okay. whee

¤ Gaia's ToS applies.

¤ No auto-hitting. You may say your roleplay character aimed for a punch, but your opponent decides whether or not he/she receives it.

¤ No God-modding (with some leniency to the Head of the Sohma family), and I will decide those limits depending on the situation the rpcs are in. These characters are human, if anything, so they have no special powers with the exceptance of the Sohma Head.

¤ Be literate. No one-liners and, if you really cannot think of anything, a five sentence minimum is required. Type in the past-tense, in third person, and watch spelling and grammar.

¤ Use (()), [[]], or {{}} for OOC.

¤ Keep it rated PG-14 please; we do not want to see anything gross here. If you must, get a room through PMs. 3nodding

¤ Swearing is acceptable, but keep it to a limit. I am expecting some dramatic bombshells to occur, but not F-bombs.

¤ You will be given three warnings if you break any of these rules (which I think is rather generous). If I have to give you a fourth warning, you are out of this roleplay.

¤ Be active! I understand that we all (or, a good amount of us) have a life outside of Gaia with school, work, etc. However, if I see that a member has not participated for four weeks, then they will no longer be a part of this roleplay.

¤ Send Profiles to me through a PM under the subject "Cursed" for a Zodiac member, "God" for the Sohma Head (one spot, first come first serve), or "Shunned" for any other position.

I Act Like: A cheerful, upbeat kind of guy. Kazu generally loves making people around him laugh and smile. Without joy and happiness, what's there to live for, right? Besides being an outgoing individual, there are some things that he prefers to be left in the past. At times, he will seem receded as well, that's usually when he's serious or deep in thought.
My History Is: As a child, Kazu was abandoned after being insulted by his parents over and over again. So, he was left without food, nor any money to survive. Fortunately, he was taken in by a nice woman who raised him like her own child. She was rather old though, so by the time Kazu reached the age of twelve, she became quite sick and when the boy turned thirteen, her lifespan ended and she died...

Kazu, now in high school, had inherited a very, very large sum of money from the woman and the house as well. He hides this fact though, buying a small run-down shack and stashing his money in a bank so no one finds out about his wealth. He has donated some money to charities though, but has used barely any on himself. Only enough to keep himself alive.

I Act Like: Melody is a bubbly person. Playful, always laughing and jumpy are words to describe her. She is extremely scared at times whenever approached by strangers and is clumsy. She is usually oblivious to anything that sounds 'dirty' and has an innocence that makes her naive. She is actually strict when it comes to business however. She knows the right things to do during a money crisis and knows how to make profits rise.
My History Is: Melody was an intelligent child from the start. She learned how to walk at 9 months and talk at 12. The only thing that prevented her parents on bringing her into the business at the age of 7 was because of her playfulness and her curse. The parents were happy to have such a daughter but were scared of the curse. Whenever the dad hugged her, she would turn into a bunny. Same when she was really sad and alone because of her parents work hours. They sent her to live with the people like her and gave her enough money to spend a lifetime. They were always worried about her. When she turned 15, they gave her the right to be CEO in their company, proud she could now follow in their footsteps.

I Act Like: Have you ever been negatively compared to a pig? Well, if Erica isn't in a formal situation or her parents aren't around, she tends to have pig traits. Her room would be a pigsty if her parents didn't send in the maids, and she is told that she eats like a pig. Besides that, she's quiet and doesn't talk at all. Erica is really nice, as thoughts of revenge or hatred has never crossed her mind. She has great strength but deems it useless.
My History Is: Erica was born loud and always in motion, much to the dismay of her parents. As she got older, they realized she wouldn't change and did their best influence her otherwise. They always corrected Erica on her actions, leaving her pressured on being a good daughter. She knew that she was lucky her parents cared for her despite her curse, but she just couldn't help but reflect her animal. It seemed that her best, at the time, wasn't good enough.

However, her parents finally found her weakness. When Erica turned 9, she heard a beautiful singing performance. From then on, she became practically mute, saving her voice for singing only, which makes her yearn for the ability to laugh and scream at times. She started writing what she wanted to say, frustrating teachers during oral assignments and presentations. Erica was given a deal, though. If she acted more mannerly, her parents would support her dream of becoming a singer and convince the educators to stop giving her assignments involving speech. She quickly agreed, although she acts like her normal self when they go away on business trips. Besides that, she's almost 100% dedicated to being a proper young woman. They are currently thinking of her debut so keep your fingers crossed!

I Act Like: Rebellious, violent, and restless, Naomi was crowned as the problem child (not like it hasn't been like that since the beginning...). Has a tendency to have an aura that repels other people and doesn't like messing with other people's business.
My History Is: Born possessed by the Spirit of the Cat, Naomi was scorned since birth. Her parents even shunned her, and she knew that if she sought their love she would either receive no response or abuse in return. Ostracized by the rest of the family as "the Cat", she took a dislike to the other members of the Zodiac, feeling alone and yearning to be one of them as a child. However, her attitude changed in middle school. Cutting off all emotional ties to her family, Naomi joined The Ladies, a notorious and well-known gang in the area made up of female members. Skipping school, starting fights, and running from the police were everyday activities to her, and she was scolded by the rest of the family for it; and yet, she didn't care. Only one person stopped her reckless behaviour and helped clean her act, a middle school classmate. Seeing her get in trouble one day when she even cared for showing up at school, he tried to bargain with her. If her grades improved and she liked it, they would continue. In return, she would spend a weekend with him or go out for a few hours after school. Soon enough Naomi fell in love with him, and the two became a couple. Wanting to show him that she had changed, Sohma decided to quit her gang, and she paid the price. Upon not seeing her at school he searched for her, finding her beaten and unconscious on the streets. Carrying her to bring her to the hospital, it was inevitable that he discovered the curse. Despite their continued relationship, the Sohma had his memories erased. Naomi was then scolded, punished, and told not to see him again. Hurt emotionally and physically, she missed the day he and his family moved away. Convinced now that she had nobody to turn to, Naomi ran away and her whereabouts are not known to this day...
