And we're going to do it Super Princess Sailor Smackdown style, bay-bee! heart

Had a kid ask me to draw an anime girl at the Chicago Comic-con and I just went for it. Sailor outfit, hi-top sneakers, in sane hair which not human being could possibly manage and ridiculously huge weapons that Bob Sapp would have a hard time handling.

And then my brain fired and a story started to weave itself.

So, after begging and pleading and possible future bribes of chocolate Kai is going to draw it!

The story is going to be a short one. Anime fangirl finds a cache of serious mystical weaponry, and mistakes dumb luck for destiny. She activates the weapons through a bit of trial and error and donning her homemade cos-play-esque costume setts out to battle the forces of darkness which suddenly appear. They appear due to her activating the weapon's mystic powers.

Fortunately the forces of eeeevil ain't the only one's after the weapons as Takashiro Sakai is dispatched by the Granby family to retrieve them. Tak's one of the guys from Night Life and this'll be the first time I've had a chance to spotlight him a bit.

Our fangirl comes face to face with her dream guy: a Japanese dude, with mystic powers and sick fight Karate. Unfortunately her only experience with Japanese culture comes from manga/anime. That's also where the basis for where her combat tactics comes from. She's in for a shock when the bad guys don't act like the bad guys from "Sailor Moon".

I'm still working on plotting and out lining. I will need help on a few things. I need slang. What Japanese words would a total anime fangirl use. My wheel house is western comics and knowledge of the Japanese language is specifically martial arts centric.

Let's party kids.

Brief character things:

Takashiro Sakai
Age: 22
Nationality: American citizen, born in Japan
Brief history: Tak's parents enrolled him in Karate classes at a young age. He was very adept and achieved his junior black belt and won many torunaments. His parents enrolled him in what they thought was a world youth tournament that was to take place in Hong Kong. This was front for a ceremony that was to bond a dragon spirit to a young member of a mystic order trained to control the spirit and harness it's powers. The finals didn't go as planned for the order as Tak and the other youngsters turned the tables and Tak won the tournament. The dragon spirit is less than pleased as was Tak. At a loss as to how to handle the situation Tak's parents sent him to live with Danny Blade in America in hopes that Blade's training would be able to help. Tak met Blade's other students Wade Granby and Keith Sheen and has since gained citizenship choosing to stay in America and use his talents to help others.

(I'll post some links to pages with Tak in them soon.)

Janey Watson
Age: 17
Nationality: American
(Still fleshing out the character, input would be appreciated.)
Janey is a high school student who spends most of her time reading manga, watching anime and making little manga drawings. She really needs to get out more. She's a nice girl, but kind of a space cadet who is more interested in the goings on of her fantasy worlds she reads about and watches than her own life. She does have friends and they all have the same interest. Not a lot of dynamics in their little group.

Someone give me a nickname for this girl. She strikes me as the type who'd want to use a Japanese sounding nickname to refer to herself as.

You want slang? I'LL GIVE YOU SLANG.

kawaii = cute
hai = yes/okay
sugoi = amazing
onegai = Please (as in the counterpart of 'Thank You')
gomen nasai = I'm Sorry!
neko = cat
baka = dumb/idiot/etc.
kami = God
kame = turtle (I mentioned this one because mixing up kami/kame could be hilarious)
oka-san = Mom
otou-san = Dad
Hime = Princess
sora = sky
ai = Love
hentai = generally it's "porn", but I've seen it used in fansubs as equivalent to "strange".
Yaoi = graphic gay sex
seme = 'pitcher' in a homosexual relationship
uke = 'catcher' in a homosexual relationship
Yuri = graphic lesbian sex
shounen = boy
shoujo = girl
usagi = bunny
Itadakimasu! = generally said before eating, though I'm not sure there's a specific definition of it. I just liken it to a "bon appetit" when I hear it.

And here's some honorifics for your character to attach to names randomly.
-san = pretty much anyone.
-kun = affectionate, can be used by family members or couples.
-chan = someone younger than the speaker; generally used on kids.
-dono = respects that person
-sama = worships that person (either in a religious or royal sense)
-sempai = the 'target' is generally a slightly older person
-sensei = you should know this one, He Of The Swinging Oar.

The girl might also go so far as to adopt "Engrish" in her speaking patterns, like swapping Ls for Rs and whatnot.

I HAVE A DEGREE IN PACIFIC ISLAND CULTURES!

But that is usless when trying to translate the mind of a weebo as its totally not rooted in any sort of social understanding or facts - but luckily for you I know all about that too! I can easily draw on my own junior high experiences observations!

Hey Kai, how long would you like this to be? I can go anywhere from 10 to 20 pages with the story I have in mind.

O D O UUUUAAAAAAARRRGG!! Alright! Finally a day off from work! I'm sorry it's taken me forever to get to this thread, Marty!

Hmm. Nickname. That's a tough one with "Janey".... I hope something will come to mind! xD If she were into cats, she could go by the name "Kawaii Neko-chan" like a bunch of tween weebos do! Or Bishoujo Senshi Neko-chan, or are we infringing on a copyright?

I haven't been able to order that book yet, but hopefully I'll get to it soon!

Let's aim for 10 pages and see if we need more as the story progresses?

"Kawaii Neko-chan" sounds good which'll make for a fun scene when she tries to introduce herself to Tak. I'd also love for her to have ridiculous anime hair. The kind of hair no real person could possibly have, which will be revealed to be a wig.

I plan on a bit of an open ending with the character, because it would be fun to bring her back later.

10 pages it is. Story outline to follow later today.

Outline

Page 1
Takashiro arrives where the weapons cache should be. There was an old house that got demolished, but the basement remained intact, and the old foundation was used for a new building, which became a bookstore. He finds the cache empty.

Page 2
Tak is ambushed, and surrounded. The bad guys are of the same group that attacked Adrian Reese and Sam Deveroux in "New Kid in Town".

Page 3
Janey makes her big appearance. Tak starts mixing it up with thugs.

Page 4
Fight scene. Janey is more interested in Tak than the actually fighting.

Page 5
Tak and Janey get away in Tak's car.

Page 6
Tak and Janey regroup at Janey's house.

Page 7
The thugs attack but this time they have their "boss" Kuroskos with them. Kuroskos appears human at first, but is shape-changing monster from a "lower" dimension. Very Lovecraftian type character.

Page 8
Kuroskos goes on the attack focusing on Janey.

Page 9
Janey and Tak defeat Kuroskos and drive him off.

Page 10
Tak confiscates the weapons from Janey.

Weapons

We're not talking about a massive armory of mystic items, but they're pretty powerful, and a therefore highly sought after. I would like one to be a hand-held melee type weapon, like a sword or scepter or something. The second should be something that is worn, like a belt necklace, or helm. Both should be ornate and flashy looking. Let your imagination run wild with the design. Nothing will be considered "over the top" here.

The last item is a bracelet, which will be hidden under Janey's costume's gloves. It's not very fancy looking, which is why she keeps it out of sight.

**All feedback is welcome, not only from Kai but from anyone else reading this.**

x_X I'm sorry, it's a bit late, and I just got home from work not too long ago. I shall read this further in depth tomorrow! Thank you for making such an organized outline, Marty!
