I just wanted to ask if anyone knows their specific kinds of manga theyre learning to draw. I mean im learning comic manga and shoujo manga which is a really used one(basically its aall manga that have big eyes and lots of details) but im not so great at chibi, Just wanted to know if anyone else is doing that kind or what do you do.

I'm actually making my own style, I just call it Hybrid Manga. It takes key features from all the styles.

I don't really know what type of manga 'style' I have in my artwork.
Though if I were a mangaka, I'd prefer to try to get serialized in a seinen (or maybe even shounen) manga magazine. I don't think my artwork or writing style is fitting for a shoujou manga.

I think its important as artist outside the REAL center of manga we should strive to define our own style and push the envelope with how we draw everything.

I actually don't have a particular style. I draw what I draw xD I can't honestly say I've never attempted to change my style - it developed on it's own as I drew. I pick up things I like: button noses, square chins, detailed small eyes etc.

As far as manga, again, i just draw. I don't attempt for a specific manga style. Though I do stay as far away as I can from huuuge manga style eyes. But that's a personal preference.

I suck at chibis. That's the only time I draw the typical manga eye - but I also avoid chibis at all costs xD

I guess one could start off with a set style that they picked up from a 'how to draw...' book, but eventually most artists will deviate from that style and create their own. It's pretty typical for most artist. Though one could ask if they were to choose to illustrate for a type of magazine, what type of manga would they draw for?

(Shounen, Shoujou, Seinen, or Josei?)

Haha. Here's a recap,
- Shounen: aimed at young boys, often action+comedy
- Shoujou: aimed at young girls, often romance+comedy
- Seinen: aimed at young adults, often action+goro
- Josei: aimed at young women, often romance+tragedy

oh...my comic is so Seinen then xD

I think I like things that are tragic too. Aaaanyway.... yeah, don't have a preference for drawing - style wise.

That's a genre, not a style of drawing.

I sort of have to agree with Phydeux77, since I've seen shounen and seinen ecchi manga. Though I think we'd usually find ecchi manga in shounen?

Actually, I see it most in Kawaii.

Kawaii isn't a style of drawing. I think the word you're looking for is moe.
Though I don't really agree on that... I'm sure that the ones that you've seen are all probably geared toward lolicons.
