OKAY. I NEED YOUR HELP, EVERYONE. We need fresh blood. We need some activity. So I propose a contest to recruit new members, and active members can get involved in the judging. If they choose.
What's the contest? We post a notice of it in the writer's forum, and encourage people to create the basics of a world, based on a theme of some sort. A word. A song. An object. A color. Something. But before we can put it out, we need to decide on that theme. Together.
So toss in your ideas. Help refine the rules. Volunteer to judge the newbies. Whatever. But we can get this guild going!

Since nothing has yet come of this, I suggest:
word: Erasure (because I got this eraser shield from Michael's and it's laying on my desk)
song: The Rowan Tree Trilogy (from Lifescape's "Scottish Moors" album, because I listen to it when I'm trying to write and I think it's inspirational)
object: magnet (again, because it's close)
color: yellow (we were reading a short story that made use of only yellow the other day. I was intrigued)
So... any more ideas???

Color. How about having the culture based entirely off of color? A particular shade of color that you are wearing could declare what job you work at. Something along those lines.
